Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. Nothing super exciting to report this week just kind of cruising through July. Here’s a peek into my week.

Sweating through July Weekly Run Down
Sunday-power walk + stretch
Today is a rest day from my HiLit+ program so I took a sweaty power walk and stretch class. Looking forward to week 2 tomorrow.

Monday-tread walk + lower body strength + low impact cardio + afternoon walk + stretch
I had a full stack today for the start of week 2 of HiLIt. The lower body class had more sets and more weight. I will certainly feel those tomorrow. I paired that and the low impact cardio with a few tread walks and a late afternoon walk with a friend,
Tuesday-reformer Pilates + 60 min walk
Today was my weekly reformer Pilates class followed by the HiLIt+ weekly long power walk. It was in the high 80’s by the time I got out there and it was a sweaty one. Later, met some friends for dinner and totally forgot to take a picture. I’m seriously slacking in that area lately.
Wednesday-upper body strength + low impact cardio + tread walk
Today’s 45 min upper body class was challenging in a good way. I am sticking with the low impact cardio and glad that no one else can see me doing it lol. I never feel super coordinated with those moves. It was 100 degrees again today so my walk was on the tread.
Thursday-Pilates + power walk
45 min is about my limit for a mat Pilates class but I got it done. With the combination of the extreme heat and the unhealthy air quality, today’s walk was on the tread.
Friday-low impact cardio + lower body strength & core + tread walk
Today’s lower body strength class really cranked up a notch today-whew I’m going to feel that. With the air quality in a dangerous zone here as well due to the Canadian fires, my walk was again on the tread. Even my google Nest was not happy.
Saturday-upper body strength + core
I added in another upper body core class with Andy to finish off the week strong. Major storms rolled in but will knock out the smoke and bring us back to our regularly scheduled heat, humidity and summer storms-lol. Has not been the best summer weather thus far.

I agree with you that the weather this summer has not been the best. We’re still up in northern Wisconsin, and the smoke has moved back in. Sigh… we’re making the best of it, of course! Looks like you are too. Nice work this week!
I’m sure trying!
I’m glad the rain washed some of the smoke away, but the humidity level is high already today. Ugh.
It’s a great time for indoor activity — or to be in your pool!.
Yes, it is
After being spoiled by such delightful late spring weather we certainly have had some really nasty summer weather, haven’t we? Like you, I was ever so grateful to have indoor cardio options this past week.
Try to stay cool!
Yes I am always grateful for indoor options
Yes, you’ve had some challenging conditions this summer! Thank goodness for indoor fitness options. Sounds like you’re enjoying this strength/cardio program! I’m hoping you at least have a smoke-free week coming up.
Yes the rain washed most of the smoke away now it’s just hot and humid 🙂
Your Google Nest is like “Wtf, rude!”
Grateful for treadmill access and I do like my gym, but enough!
Love the nails!
Yes enough already for sure
Wow, I kind of love the message on the Nest. Sounds like you really made the most of the poor conditions this week. The new classes seem so cool!
I am sure trying! I do like the new classes so far
I’m very much over this summer. It’s hot. It’s wet. I don’t want to do anything.
Stay safe with all that smoke. It’s brutal.
Summer is never my favorite but trying to appreciate the days we can exercise outside
Yes… it’s been hot, dry and then smoky. We can’t get a break.
It has been a very undesirable few weeks weather wise
Thankfully, the wild fire smoke has not made it my way…yet, at least. Bummer to be stuck inside with the smoke & all the heat. Hopefully, you’ll get a break in those u desirable conditions.
It has been a rough few weeks!
All kinds of crazy and unpleasant weather this week! Of course we woke up to 65 degree weather, which surprised me. Had I known it was going to be 65 degrees I would have moved my long run to today! Oh well, I did get a long bike ride done so it all worked out. Good job getting your indoor workouts done! 🙂
It has been a challenging summer
So sorry you’re dealing with the smoke from the wildfires. We know a thing or two about that out here in CA, and it’s not pleasant. I am glad you’re able to walk indoors! Nice work on the strength workouts!
It is not pleasant but did not last too long thankfully
Great job staying consistent despite the heat, smoke, and storms! It would have been easy to skip workouts.
Hope the cleaner air sticks around and week 3 of HiLIt goes just as well!
It is much better this week thanks
