Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. It was a not so spooky week leading up to Halloween and the start of November. Here’s a peek into my week.

A Not so spooky Weekly Run Down

Sunday-power walk

I met a friend for a nice power walk in the beautiful sunshine. I’m soaking up these days while they last. Later, I met up with a group of friends (including my mom) to participate in the Great Challah Bake. It’s a charity event for breast cancer and also a nice celebration of the Jewish tradition of baking challah together. We had lots of fun and ended up with some yummy challah to take home and bake.

Monday-chest and triceps & core strength + Pilates

Week 2 of Katie’s split is off to strong start. I was really surprised that my arms were still pretty sore from last week. Sign of a good workout? Sometimes just switching up the programming a bit can give great results. We’ll see how it goes! Why are reverse planks so hard? Programming them in right after all the triceps work was even more challenging!

Tuesday-reformer Pilates + afternoon walk

I went to a reformer Pilates class this morning that had lots of moving planks. I love the challenge of them on the reformer. Later, I met a friend for a walk where we were treated to some more gorgeous weather and nice fall views.

Wednesday-legs and core lower + tread hike

Week 2 of this legs class was just as challenging! I continued to use the booty band on the deadlifts and hip bridges. Bulgarian split squats on the bench are always tough and I love them. Afterwards, I did a tread hike to shake things out a bit.

Thursday -power walk + reformer Pilates

I went for a nice morning walk before heading over to take a reformer Pilates class. There were some fun and more challenging variations that I enjoyed. We are not allowed to take photos in class but here’s one from my walk.

Friday-biceps and back & core strength

Week 2 of this biceps and back class was still super challenging and left my arms like jello once again. 3 sets of 21’s! Later, I did some fall planting and organizing.

Saturday-legs & shoulders + core strength

Finished off week 2 of Katie’s split training with a strong legs and shoulders day. I’m liking the challenge of these heel elevated front squats.

And that wraps up a not so spooky week around here! This is the first year that I did not dress up or do anything Halloween related at all. Hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep last night. I know I did. Happy November!

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Those reverse planks right after triceps work sound downright cruel, haha!
Your challah reminds me so much of the Swiss “Zopf”, our traditional Sunday bread. So yummy!!
