November 2026 Ultimate Coffee Date

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I find product reviews especially around fit and sizing completely unhelpful. Someone will post how big something runs and then the next review will say the item runs small. What is one to do? Lately, I’ve been ordering 2 sizes and returning one. Admittedly, I don’t write too many reviews myself. How about you-do you write reviews for clothing?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

There is a lot of talk about wearing compression socks while flying. This topic seems to be reignited in the light of Eagles’ quarterback Jaylen Hurts and his unusual blood clot situation. My doc recommends wearing compression socks for any flight over 3 hours. I am going to adopt this strategy moving forward. I’m also sticking with my method of staying very hydrated so I need to get up to use the restroom often. I will also admit that my husband has made fun of me for standing in the aisle and doing stretches. Tell me-do you wear compression socks on long flights?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

November is one of my favorite months! Both my husband and I will be celebrating our birhdays  next week. We are having a joint party next weekend that should be lots of fun. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I can’t wait to have the kids home for a few days. This time of the year just flies by doesn’t it!?

Happy Birthday to me|blogging

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

I rarely find reviews on sizing helpful either unless the reviewer includes their measurements too!

I don’t usually wear compression socks for long flights but I do usually walk a lottttttttttttt at the airport before I get on the plane!

I’ve been told that walking a lot before a flight is great but will not help with the other issues

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but sometimes I feel like I should. I know what you mean about the sizing – I bought myself some sweaters recently, and half the reviews said they sized up for an oversized fit. I got one size down and my normal size and I Was swimming in it! I haven’t worn compression socks in a while bu tI used to where them more during travel = I had some pairs from running actually that I just wore on the plane!
Happy almost birthday to you and your husband!! How fun to have a joint celebration.

I used to wear them when I was dong log runs when I first started running bc I thought they helped with shin splints. May need to pull them out again!

I wear compression socks on our road trips and encourage my husband to stop every two hours so we can get out and walk.

And no, I’ve never written a clothing product review. I’m terrible at doing that kind of stuff!

Happy early birthday to you and your hubby!

I don’t buy my clothes online unless it’s something that I already know that it will fit (like running shoes). I can’t stand the hassle of returning things.
Let me know how the compression socks work for you when you fly! I think this is something that I want to try for longhaul flights.

I don’t like on-line shopping for that reason. I do like how the Peloton Apparel site tells you what size the instructor/model is wearing.

Yes, I do wear compression on long flights, but I prefer sleeves to socks because socks end of feeling to tight on my toes!

I also will stretch in the aisle but don’t do full on routines — as I’ve seen people do in the galley/exit door area of larger planes!

    Happy Almost Birthday!

Yes I will do the sleeves as well for more comfort. Stretching on the plane is always good. Happy almost birthday to you as well

    Ooh- Happy Birthday Month!
I’ve never worn compression socks on flights, but I haven’t taken a long flight in a while. I think the next time I do, I’ll wear compression socks. I’m not sure I would getup and stretch in the aisle, but I definitely like to get up and walk around. (But I also wouldn’t make fun of someone stretching in the aisle!)

I never write reviews but I do read them… never helpful one person says it’s great and another says it’s the worst . Lol

I usually wear compression calf sleeves to run but never when I fly. But my flights are usually not that long. I do try for an aisle seat to stretch my legs.

    Happy birthday month.

I usually wear compression sleeves on long flights and car rides – I’ve always prefered sleeves vs. socks.

    Early happy birthday!
