A Busy Weekly Run Down

thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week was busy with some tag along work travel with the hubs. I did my best to keep up with my routine. Here’s a peek into my week.

Weekly Run Down

Sunday-core + stretch

today ended up being more of a low key day than intended. I ended up helping my sister was some things but it’s all good. Tomorrow is another day.

Monday-lower body strength & core + jump training + power walk

I started week 5/6 of my HiLit+ program with some serious lower body strength and core. It’s always surprising how much harder than expected these weighted hip bridges are. I added on the jump training class for some nice bone strengthening. After lunch, I met a friend for a power walk in the gorgeous weather.

Tuesday-morning power walk + Pilates + fly to Little Rock

I headed out on a long morning walk in the gorgeous 60 degree weather then added a Pilates sculpt class to my day. Later, I joined my husband on a work trip to Little Rock, Arkansas (first time there). We added lots of steps on our evening walk to dinner and back

Wednesday-upper body strength + core + walking + October 7th memorial

It was a busy day in Little Rock. While my husband was at work meetings, I visited the hotel gym for an upper body and core workout. I was the only one there-bonus. The gym itself was a little dated but it had everything I needed.

Later, we attended an October 7th memorial ceremony at the Governor’s mansion in Little Rock. It was a very touching and meaningful tribute and I’m glad we attended. The victorious atrocities of that day would be akin to 9 September 11th’s in one day population wise.

Thursday-travel home from Little Rock -rest day

I thought I would get home in time to do something, but alas, today’s steps were all airport walks.

Friday-lower body strength + “walk and talk power walk with Deb”

I was happy to get back to my home gym and finish off my strength week with a tough lower body class. Later, I had a walk and talk virtually with Deb. We chatted all things for over an hour and both got in lots of steps.

front squats

Saturday-reformer Pilates class + power walk

I got a lot done today! After my Pilates reformer class, I headed over to visit with my parents. Later, I met a friend for a nice long power walk before meeting friends for dinner.

It was a busy week but a productive one all around. Next week has some more travel but you know me, my bags are always ready to go!

I so enjoyed our chance to catch up while chatting, and I got in a 4-mile walk that I probably wouldn’t have done otherwise!

It’s great that you were able to attend the October 7th memorial ceremony in Little Rock with your husband. Looking forward to where you’re headed next!

And yes, those weighted hip bridges are tough!

I did weighted hip bridges too this week. Crazy how hard they are! At the end of the 10-minute workout, my legs were shaking. What weights are you using? They look heavy!

Love all the travel! I feel like I’ve been living out of a suitcase the last month, and it’s great, but also tiring.

Sounds like a pleasant week fo ryou. That gym in Little Rock looks class! Definitely my cup of tea with all those barbells and dumbbells. Hip bridges can be tough going, especially if you go single leg!

I’ve never been to Little Rock! I bet it’s nice. I LOVE an empty hotel gym! Well, I would love any empty gym but the only time it happens is in a hotel, possibly.
Sounds like you kept up your routine nicely during this travel week!

As you know, I’m not a gym-goer. It was a nice surprise, back in June when I was in Houston, to have an empty gym every time I stepped inside 😉 Those 30-pound weighted bridges look intense!
