Hello October Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. Hello October! This is typically one of my favorite months around here. I’m hopeful this year will be the same. This was another solid fitness week. Here’s a peek into how it went down.

Hello october Weekly Run Down

Sunday-power walk

My friend and I dodged some rain showers while we walked and caught up. Later, I got a lot done around hte house on this rainy day.

Monday-lower body strength + low impact cardio + afternoon walk

I started week 4 of my HILIt+ program. Still feeling strong this week and ready to crush my workouts. While this was a lower body class, there is always a push up set thrown in there. It finally stopped raining this morning and it was nice to get outside for another walk. Later, it was time for some Monday night football (that did not go well!)

Tuesday-Pilates reformer + power walk

I tried a HIT Pilates reformer class which was a fun new challenge. Later, I headed out for a nice afternoon walk. Not too much to report today!

Wednesday-power walk + upper body strength & core

I met a friend for a  nice long power walk and then came home to tackle my upper body strength class. I like how the chest presses are cued. While holding one arm up, press with only one side. Then repeat on other side for 4 sets total. These were a burner for sure and much harder than doing both together.

Thursday-power walk + reformer Pilates

Not sure what happened to that October weather I was enjoying because it was hot today! Nonetheless, I headed out for a nice power walk this morning before heading over to another reformer Pilates class. There was a ton of great core work today and hoping I feel that tomorrow.

Friday -lower body strength & core + low impact cardio + afternoon power walk

finishing up week 4 of HiLit+ strong. I realized I had a heavier kettlebell which worked great for these front lunges. I’m not sure what happened to my fall weather because it was back in the 80’s again today. No worries here as I had a nice long walk with a friend in the afternoon.

Saturday-rest day + stretch

I took the advice of my Oura today and took a rest day. I got my Covid vax yesterday and my arm was really sore which kind of bothered me while I was sleeping. We used this rainy day to run some errands and get some stuff done around the house.

Overall, a pretty solid week of fitness.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Today was a good day to take a rest day. We did a bunch of stuff around the house as well ,and then hung out with family this evening.

We had a Friday night game that went about as well as your Monday night game. 🙁
