A Perfect Fall Weekly Run Down

thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week was a rare perfect fall weather week. We were gifted sunny, blue skies with chilly mornings and warm afternoons. If only we could bottle this up!

Weekly Run Down

Sunday-rest day

I took a much needed rest day filled with grocery shopping and laundry-ha.

Monday-chest and Tri Peloton strength + core + power walk

I was ready to start a new week of workouts and decided to try Katie’s new 4 day split via Peloton. This workout did not look hard on paper but my triceps were toast at the end. Sign of great workout! Later, I met a friend for a long power walkI in the beautiful fall weather.

Tuesday-reformer Pilates + power walk

I did waste an hour at the ATT store trying to get a return label for my phone upgrade. Cannot figure out why they make these things so difficult. Anyhoo, later I took a reformer Pilates class and an outdoor walk in the beautiful weather.

Wednesday-lower body strength + core

So far I am enjoying the new challenging of Katie’s split this week. Today’s lower body class used the booty band during dead lifts which felt like a major level up. While still using the same weight I normally use, the booty band reminded me to engage my glutes the whole time. Bulgarian split squats rounded out the workout.

Later, I was happy to get back to my Wednesday Mahjong group after being away the last 2 weeks and even won 2 games!

Thursday—core + power walk

It was another picture perfect fall day with morning temps in the high 40’s and afternoon high at 68 and sunny all day. I had a nice power walk and core class. My newer heavier weights needed a new home and I put together this new rack for them. This is not my strong point so I sure hope it doesn’t collapse!

Friday-back and biceps strength & core + power walk

It was another picture perfect fall day around here. I started off with a tough back and biceps class followed by another power walk. I really liked this mashup of a lat pullover and dead bug that hit some sneaky core.

Saturday-legs, shoulders and core strength

I was surprised by how sore my arms and back were this morning but we have a schedule to follow this week. I finished off Katie’s 4 day split with another tough combo of exercises. We had front squats with heels elevated to add an extra challenge. What always humbles me though are Copenhagen planks! Why are those so hard?!

Last night we saw Jerry Seinfeld perform and he is always amazing and so funny. Great date night out. That wraps up a perfect fall week!

Using a booty band for deadlifts is a brilliant idea! I need to try that. I’m back at CrossFit this week and wow, can I feel the difference after a spell without heavy weights!

That new rack looks pretty sturdy to me!
