Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. Now they we are past the poor air quality and the 100 degree temps, I was determined to get back to hitting my daily outdoor step goals. Stepping it up it is! Here’s a peek into my week.

Stepping It Up Weekly Run Down
Sunday-afternoon walk
It was still quite humid after last night’s storm but not as hot so let’s kick start this week of outdoor walking.
Monday-core + lower body strength + low impact cardio and outdoor power walk
Mondays are always my duty to hit it hard and today was no exception. After an hour of strength and cardio, I met a friend for a long power walk. It is back to just regular hot-ha!
Tuesday-reformer Pilates + power walk
Today was my weekly reformer Pilates class. After 10 sessions there, I’ve decided that I need a more challenging class. I am going to try a new place next week-stay tuned. It was good to get in a nice long outdoor walk before the storms rolled in.
I hosted mahjong at my house today. Most of our squad is out on summer vacation so it was just a small group
Wednesday-Pilates core + upper body strength + jump training + power walk
My Pilates core class was a quick warm up to this upper body class. Today’s class had a lot of unilateral chest presses, overhead presses, bicep curs and skull crushers. Afterwards, it was our first 10 min jump training class. Great for bone health and balance! Yes, I did get my outdoor steps in as well.
Thursday-Pilates core + outdoor walk x 2
It was an absolutely gorgeous day (for a change!) and I was happy to get out for 2 walks with a Pilates class sandwiched in between.
Friday-tread walk + lower body strength + core + low impact cardio
Super challenging strength workout today with lots of unilateral work. I especially enjoyed the offset front squats for a fun change. Later, the hubs and I treated ourselves to a mid day matinee to see The Odyssey. It was long but good! I had some funny memories of this book from high school that I will share next week’s runfessions.

Saturday-outdoor walk + upper body strength
I got out for a nice outdoor walk and quick upper body strength before heading down to Charlottesville, VA for my son’s graduation. He finished his masters in Data Science at UVA today. It was a gorgeous day to celebrate him.

Congrats to your son! Another milestone! Data Science sounds like a great masters too – it’s the place to be right now.
The Odyssey is on my list – I’m glad you liked it!
Also, it’s a good call to move on to a more challenging Pilates class – sounds like your hard work is paying off!
Yes we are very proud of him and excited to see what this brings for him
Congrats on your son’s Master’s!
Great idea to see The Odyssey as a matinee — glad you liked it.
Our weather has been divine these past few days!
Thanks and yes it was so nice this week
We had to cancel mah jongg this week. Not enough. Love your set. So pretty.
Kudos on such an active week.
And congrats to your son.
Thanks we are excited for him! We sometimes play with 3 people-have you done that?
Congrats to your son’s graduation! Unilateral chest presses sounds interesting, I’ve never done that. Looks like some great weather for walking there, thunderstorms can “clean up” the air a bit if it’s been hot and clammy.
Hope you find a Pilates class that suits you!
The unilateral strength moves are a different type of challenge-try it sometime!
I’m so jealous that people are getting cooler weather. It’s still in the 90s-triple digits here. Ugh. But I’m so glad you are able to safely get back out there!
Congratulations to your son! What an awesome accomplishment!
I want to see The Odyssey and I’ve heard nothing but great things!
Oh not to worry-we will be back in the 90’s in a couple of days 🙂 Yes. Am very proud of him and excited for him
Huge congrats to your son! I can only imagine how proud you are 😉 Sounds like you got a slight break in the heat as well. I love the heat, but not when it’s for 3+ weeks of extreme conditions, LOL. The first two days of RAGBRAI (Sunday and Monday of last week) were crazy hot, and I heard there were a lot of cyclists bailing on those days. So, I got extremely lucky with my two days!
Yes it was a nice break for sure Thanks we are really proud of him 🙂
Congrats to your son on his graduation from grad school! You must be so proud!
It’s good to hear that the weather got a little more reasonable toward the end of the week. It really was gross the last two weeks. We’re enjoying very different weather here in the Pacific Northwest.
Thanks we are proud of him! Looks like you have some nice weather to enjoy out there
Congrats to your son! How nice that you had a great day for the graduation too.
All of my coworkers were raving about the Odyssey movie. It hasn’t been on my radar, but maybe I’ll go see it after all of the good reviews I’ve heard.
A jump training class sounds interesting!
Thanks we are excited for him. The movie was very long but good. Helps to know the story. Jump training was fun
Great work this week–we do jump activities during our auxiliary strength classes. It is so good for bone health!
Congrats to your son on his masters degree. What’s next for him?
I do like the jump training good for balance and bones for sure. thanks we are proud of him. He has just started a new job as a senior analyst at the Total Wine headquarters here.
Congratulations on your son’s graduation. Great photo!
Sounds like you had a nice mix of workouts this week. Tell me more about the jump class!
Thanks! The jump class was a great add on. You can take it even if you are not doing the program search classes under Rebecca 10 min under cardio section 7/22 I think you would like it
Oh great! Thanks for the pointer!
