Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. July felt super long and the weather was rather atrocious for my liking. I’m welcoming in August and looking forward to some better weather and some fun travel ahead this month.

Hello August Weekly Run Down

Sunday-stretch class and rest day

After a nice brunch with my son and his girlfriend in Charlottesville, we drove back home. I took today as a rest day and just got in a nice stretch class before hitting it hard on Monday.

I do love a milestone and this 375 weeks puts me at over 7 years!!

Monday-low impact cardio + lower body strength & core + power walk

Back at it today with the start of week 4 of my HiLIt+ Peloton program. the low impact cardio is growing on me. I did that first today as a warm up followed by low body strength and core. Offset single leg dead lifts are always a nice challenge. I think I have outgrown my heaviest weights!

Tuesday-Pilates

I got in an intense Pilates sculpt class before heading out to a memorial service. It was longer than expected and by the tine we got home it was torrential out. No worries, I will get that walk in tomorrow!

Wednesday-core + upper body strength +  jump training + power walk

I was back on track today with a nice 94 sleep score. My upper body strength felt good! We had a 10 min jump training class again today that I really enjoyed. Then I met a friend for a nice power walk in some cooler temps. 80 feels so much cooler especially on a cloudy day.

Later, it was Mahjong Wednesday.

Thursday-power walk + Pilates reformer

It was a nice morning for a long power walk. Later, I headed to my new Pilates class which was much more challenging. I just need to find the exact class and teacher I am looking for! I think I am closer now.

Friday-core + low impact cardio + lower body strength + outdoor walk

Today was a good solid workout day. I moved the low impact cardio to a warm up before my lower body and that worked great. It as pretty warm by the time I finished but did manage to get out for my outdoor walk.

Saturday-power walk + core + upper body strength

We stayed up late watching a movie and slept in til 9 which was fabulous. I got in a nice power walk before it got too hot and then a quick upper body strength. Later, we met my parents for dinner.

While July was not the most exciting month for me, I finished it feeling strong and enjoying my 4 of 6 weeks of HiLit+.

Outgrowing your weights! All that weight training is definitely paying off! What is the weight of the dumbbell you are carrying in that photo?
And getting a 94 in sleep is fabulous. That’s my goal for next week!

Yes it does feel good out outgrow my weights. The heaviest I have is 35 pounds but I am ready for heavier for deadlifts. Not sure what I am going to do yet

It’s great that you found a Pilates class that fits your needs better. I hope you continue to enjoy it! That’s awesome that you’ve outgrown your weights. Sounds like it’s time for an upgrade!

Strong week for you! Outgrowing your weights has to be so empowering! Will you buy heavier dumbbells? I’ve been kind of in a holding pattern with my lifts. I’m waiting for a breakthrough, lol!

I am not sure what I am going to do yet but it does feel good!

It sounds like HiLit+ is really your jam! Nice on going up on your weights — that’s solid proof you’re getting stronger.

Our weather was pretty nice this week! I hope it holds.

It does feel good and I’m looking forward to the next 2 weeks of the program. I suggest you don’t look at the forecast for this week

Seems like you had a very solid week (and month)! Well done outgrowing your heavy weights – that must be a great feeling!! Hope you manage to find a good Pilates teacher for you.

Congrats on your streak and an active week.

We had torrential rain. It probably made the news.

Hoping for drier weather this week.

      08/02/2026 at 9:05 am

Yes I did see all that rain you all got! Crazy

That is quite a streak you have going!!! Sounds like you had a great week of workouts. I would say try doing single leg exercises if your weights are too light, but you’re already doing that with the offset deadlifts! I guess it’s time to buy new weights?
And goodbye to July- let’s just move right on to August!
