thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. I’m finishing week 5 of 6 of the HiLit and still enjoying it and honestly, feeling quite strong. Here’s a peek into this very summer weather week.

Summer Summer Summer Weekly Run Down

Sunday-rest day & stretch

Well it was another less than stellar weather day with torrential rain most of the day. I took of advantage of my planned rest day with grocery shopping, some meal prep and laundry. Cari and I also had a nice long phone catch up for 2 hours! This week’s weather is looking less than desirable.

Monday-low impact cardio + lower body strength + outdoor walk

I was looking forward to starting week 5 of HiLit+ with Rebecca. The lower body class was challenging and I finished feeling good. Loaded hip bridges (not easy to photo) are always a favorite of mine.

After stalking the weather, it looked like I would have a rain free window for my walk. Alas, I got it wet anyway but got it done.

Tuesday-Pilates reformer class + power walk

I enjoyed this much more challenging reformer class today and had fun doing some different moves that really challenged my core and balance. I may even try a group class this weekend. I beat the rain today on my walk.

Wednesday -upper body and core strength + jump training

As advertised in our 10 day forecast, we had a morning thunder shower. This is getting quite tiresome! Alas, I am always happy to have my indoor options. Today’s upper body strength was spicy! We also had a 15 minute jump training class which is kind of fun (and so good for our bones!) Resting jumping face 🙂

Thursday-Pilates sculpt + power walk

This morning had me checking off my Peloton box with a 30 minute Pilates sculpt class. Later, I met a friend for a nice long walk. It was 94 degrees out but we made the most of it and stopped in for cold drink along the way. We made it home just before today’s round of thunderstorms rolled in.

Friday-lower body strength & core + low impact cardio

After checking in with the Ultimate Coffee Date posts, I jumped into a tough lower body strength class followed by a low impact cardio to finish out week 5 of HiLit+. Later, I headed over to spend the afternoon with my parents. My dad seems to be a lot more stable for the moment thank goodness.

Saturday-reformer Pilates class + stretch

I decided it was time to try a group Pilates reformer class. I’ll try a bunch of different instructors to find the right one. I’d like to go at least once a week to compliment the strength classes I’m doing. I like the intense core work and feeling of being very stretched out especially in my back. It was not supposed to rain until evening, but wouldn’t you know it, 45 min after I got out there the thunder rolled in. Not the most stellar weather week! The workouts were good though. So we’ll take that!

I’ve lost track of how many times I got in the rain this week.

    Crazy weather.

    Hoping for a drier week.

That’s great news about your dad! So happy to hear he’s doing better.

My phone was blowing up all week with severe thunder storm watches and warning from home. I hope we got the rain you got and not just threats! Here in Park City it is unusually hot, but at least the humidity is low.

    Have a great week, Deborah!

We haven’t gotten much rain at all this summer, and this is our “rainy season!” The same thing happened last summer, and then we got dumped on every single day in September. I’m gearing myself up for something similar this year. Luckily I have the treadmill and the gym if I need it!
Yes, I’ll bet you’re feeling strong. You’re reminding me that I haven’t been doing enough core work- I’ll have to make that more of a priority this week.

The core work may not be as fun when you do it but it’s so key!

we’re supposed to get rain everyday this week! we had some pretty big storms yesterday, and it supposed to rain this morning, but it ended up being sunny for my run. I’m so glad to hear your dad is doing okay. nice job making the most of it even with the weather!

So sorry about all the rain! But at least decent temperatures on the forecast.
That looks like a serious weighted hip bridge – I love how you challenge yourself with the weights! I’m curious about weighted jump exercises. Perhaps I should give it a try, starting with some lighter weights.

I really like the jump classes and we don’t use weights for those. I feel like it’s good for my ankles and feet too

So much rain! Ugh, that has to be a buzzkill! We haven’t had a lot of rainy days, but the few ones that have hit have dumped several inches at a time on us. Just had another stormy early morning today…standing water everywhere now.

As Melissa mentioned, Ohio is supposed to get rain this week. Hopefully not on the upcoming weekend – we are going to an outdoor concert!
You got a lot of good workouts in despite the weather. Hope some sunny days are on their way for you. Pool season will be ending before we know it!

Woah, that a lot of rain this week. I am sorry you were stuck inside… but at least you have the option! I had to chuckle when you said that loaded hip bridges were your favorite. I hate hip bridges (but what would Denis say? Then they’re probably something that my body needs more of! Ha).
