Stretching Into June Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly Run Down. This week, I’m keeping up my intention of daily stretching and starting off June doing just that. Here’s a peek into my week.

Stretching into june Weekly Run Down

Sunday-weighted power walk + Pilates + stretch

It was another gorgeous day around here. I wish we could bottle these up because I know the hot and hazy days are soon approaching. I had a nice power walk with my vest this morning and then read by the pool in the afternoon. It was cool enough at night to sit by the fire pit and enjoy the weather.

Monday-core + lower body strength + tread hike + stretch + afternoon power walk

Love a strong Monday! Glutes and legs on fire today. These standing lateral weighted leg lifts were a great balance challenge. Later, I met a friend for an afternoon walk. Yes, I did get in that daily stretching.

Tuesday-core + upper body strength + Pilates reformer + stretch

I started off my day with a core and upper body strength. Later, I had my second Pilates reformer class. I’m still learning the ropes, so to speak, but  I am enjoying it. My stretch class was perfect after dinner.

Wednesday-core Pilates + full body strength + power walk

A nice mix of full body strength and a nice day for a long outdoor walk. Later it was time for mahjong!

Thursday-Mat Pilates + stretch + swim

After a great core mat Pilates class with the ball, It was the perfect day for a first swim. I always forget how much I love swimming laps.

Also bonus points when your  nails match your bag.

Friday-power walk + upper body strength + core + stretch + swim

Today I got out for a nice power walk with a friend before it got too hot. After an upper body strength workout, I jumped into the pool for a few laps. I’m trying to ease back into swimming.

Saturday-full body strength + core + stretch

It was another gorgeous and warm summer day. We have to enjoy these low humidity days while they last! I spent the rest of the afternoon reading by the pool. I finished “yesteryear” wow what a crazy story!

Stretching just 10 min a day everyday this week is doing wonders for my body. Try it?!

Our weather has been fabulous, but I’m not looking forward to the humidity sneaking back in. I just bought Yesteryear but haven’t gotten a chance to start reading it yet. It sounds like a fun read!

Yes the humidity here is always brutal and I’m surprised we have made it this far! Looking forward to hearing what you think of the book

That evening by the fire pit looks so cosy! Yes, if only we could bottle up a perfect weather!
I stretch for 15 minutes about 5 x week. You are right, it makes a huge difference!

We haven’t sat outside much at all so far this summer–it’s been too cool, and now we’ve blasted right into the heat. Some moderationn would be nice!

I do a couple Yoga with Adriene stretch/mobility classes per week–it has made a huge difference for me!

We have had lovely weather this week! We spent the day hanging out on our son’s back porch yesterday — it was so lovely.

    Yesteryear was *interesting*.

    Love your manicure!

Ooh, Yesteryear!!! I really liked it, and yes it’s a crazy story!
Sounds like you had a great week and the weather was perfect. It’s horribly hot and humid here, but you grew up in Florida so of course you know that. Hope your weather holds up for a while.

We have to enjoy this short time where it’s warm and sunny before the horrible humidity comes in

I love all that stretching! I”m gonna give it a whirl this week…I know I need to make it more of a priority. Our weather has been bouncing back and forth from extreme humidity to pleasantly comfortable heat. At lest it’s not snowing, LOL!

Ha yes no snow! I do recommend the short stretching classes. Sometimes they happen later in the evening but they happen

Nice week! That fire pit looks so cozy!
I do another type of weighted leg lift (I lift my knee) and they’re so good! I might try your side leg lift too. It’s an excellent balance exercise!
I do more stretching than I have in the past, but only dynamic stretches. I do mostly lower body, hip flexors, glutes, lower back and calves but will try to do something for upper body too as it could help another issue I’m having.

The side leg lift was a great balance exercise for sure. It’s mostly my lower body that gets stretched as well but it is all good for us

Yesteryear was a crazy story! I liked it. I have been faithfully doing my daily stretches. I only do a 5 minute program but I do notice a difference with even that short amount of time!
I think we missed the one day of using our fire pit in the summer. It’s already too hot to enjoy it!

I got in the car today and the temp inside read 106. I’m over it! However, I’m glad you’re having some decent weather. I know that makes everything so much nicer!

    Cute nails!
