Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week was all about altitude, attitude and Aspen as we spent a few days on the slopes. Here’s a peek into my week.

Altitude, Attitude and Aspen
Sunday- Fly to Aspen
I would probably not recommend the triple threat of waking up for an early fly on daylight savings day and traveling to another time zone. Rough morning! Nevertheless, I’m happy and thankful to be in Aspen for a days with my husband for some spring skiing.
Monday-skiing! + Peloton warm ups and stretches
It was a gorgeous and warm spring skiing day here. I feel like the real workout is getting all the gear on and lugging the skis to the mountain. The temps mid day were in the 40’s and it felt great. I’m still pretty cautious out there as I still have PTSD from my ski accident 22 years ago. I take it pretty slow but that still allows me to take in some gorgeous views like this one at Snowmass mountain.
Tuesday-ski day!
It was another gorgeous, warm spring ski day here! The altitude really gets to me here and totally wipes me out. I of course got in my Peloton pre and post stretch.
Wednesday-core + upper body strength + power shopping
I decided to call it a win skiing 2 days in a row and not injuring myself before the wedding. Today, I hit up the gym and then did some power shopping while my husband hit some harder runs.
Thursday-core +full body strength + stretch
I hit the well stocked hotel gym for a strength workout. We were not supposed to take photos but I snuck one in when I was alone. Afterwards, it was a gorgeous, sunny 45 degrees and I headed out for a power walk around town.It was also a beautiful night to walk around town.
Friday-fly home to DC
It is a little bit of a trek to get home-the worst part of travel! I got in as many steps as possible this morning before heading to the airport and walking from one end of Denver to the other to catch our connection. This tofu and edamame poke bowl was a yummy lunch.
Saturday-core + getting my life in order
After not getting to bed until after 2 am due to flight delays, I was pretty wiped. Used the day to organize, laundry and get my life back in order.

Looks like you had a great getaway! Wow, 2AM is really late for you, glad you rebounded 😉 Nice work getting in all the other workouts in addition to the skiing!
It was very late for me!
Sounds like a great trip except the traveling — did you get caught by the DC-area ground stop Friday afternoon/evening? A similar event (small fire at the air traffic control center) had me stuck in Boston a few years ago.
One bonus of spring skiing is the weather — it’s nice not to be freezing when you’re out and about.
It was really warm and I much. Prefer that! The sun is so strong there that it feels so warm at 42! w head double whammy with the travel. Late arrival for our plane that came from Chi due to wind. Then late leaving Denver due to DC ground stop.
It sounds like you had a fabulous getaway with a nice combination of skiing, working out in the gym, and seeing the sights! I love the focus on not getting injured before the wedding – smart move! That altitude can do a number on us when we’re not acclimated, right?
The altitude always kills me there!
Looks like a fun getaway! I agree with you, traveling to and fro is the worst part of going places, but a price worth paying! Have a great week!
How lucky you were with the weather! How was the snow? Mushy or was there still a bit of powder?
Skiing two days and deciding to quit while you’re ahead before the wedding feels like a very wise move.
Glad you still managed some strength work and those walks to balance it all out!
We were rally lucky with the weather. It was warm enough to ski without a jacket for me. It had snowed the day before we got there so we had still had some snow. They have gotten much less than normal so glad we got in a few good days
Your photos are so, so beautiful, and yes- I would probably also have called it good after two days of skiing. The last thing you want is to be hobbling on crutches for the wedding. Also- power shopping sounds pretty fun! : )
Yes, you probably need a recovery day or two now. Luckily you can use today to get your life back.
Yes exactly no reason to chance an injury!
It looks beautiful! I’m glad you can enjoy skiing despite that accident. And nice to have access to a good gym too!
Yes it was a fun few days
love all your ski outfits! and traveling early after the timechange does NOT sound fun. That edamame tofu bowl looks so good! I hope you can catch up on sleep and rest this week!
Thanks me too!
Oooh, that looks like a super fun trip, but also exhausting! Especially with all the physical activity and fresh air!
welcome home! It’s just about crunch time!
Yes it was a nice getaway!
