Marching Into A New Month

thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. And just like that, we are marching not a new month. March is always a little wild weather wise around here and this year seems to be living up to that reputation already. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness.

Marching Into A New Month

Sunday-core + Interval and arms cycle + stretch

I was still tired this morning from all the weekend happenings. Knowing I would feel better after a workout, I hopped onto the bike for an interval and arms cycle ride. This is probably my favorite type of cycle class right now. I love the short (3m or so) arm segments to mix it up and give me a little arm burn on a non strength day. We then had a quick lunch with my daughter and her fiancé before they jetted back off to Chicago. Next time I see them, it will be wedding week!

Monday-core + lower body strength + Pilates lower body + walk x 2

Ok back at it! Week 2 with my Peloton personal trainer started with a core class and great lower body strength class. I have always been of fan of Adrian’s glutes and legs classes and was excited to see one of those on my plan. Lots of unilateral moves and some challenging raised calf squats.

Later, I met a friend for a walk and we got caught in a snow squall. Why yes, it was 55 degrees yesterday! Crazy weather is a hallmark of March right on cue.

Tuesday-core + upper body strength + tread walk

Today’s upper body strength class was spicier than I expected (in a good way). S once it was dreary and raining out, my walk was on the tread today.

Wednesday-Pilates core + tread walk

active recovery day over here included Pilates and a tread walk. It was another rainy day so I was glad to have afternoon Mahjong on the schedule. I won 2 games! Yay.

Thursday-core + lower body strength + tread walk

I rushed out to a meeting with all the wedding vendors at the hotel for the walk through and coordination of everyone. So, my workout got pushed to after lunch but I got it done.

Friday- core + upper body strength + tread hike

Waking up after a high sleep score, I was ready to take on the day and my workout. Sometimes these upper body classes look a lot easier on the app than they are in reality! I liked this variation for skull crushers where Andy had us in an isometric bridge hold.

Saturday- core + Pilates + interval cycle Peloton class

I had a great sleep in and sleep score and I was ready for a tougher cycle class today. We are headed off for a few days of skiing and I know I will miss a few workouts this week ahead. I chatted with my Peloton trainer to plan a few things for the week to keep me going strong.

That snow really surprised me, too. We got more than a short squall, though, but the way it was coming down made me think it was going to be over soon. At least it all melted by mid-morning the next day!

Enjoy your time on the slopes, Deborah!

Sounds like a really good week and some good strength exercises there. The isometric skull crusher looks like some excellent work for the core!
Snow with mild temps is such typical March weather.

Last night my Garmin said I slept for 11 hrs 22 mins! You’d think that would be 100 sleep score, but my lack of sleep the day prior may have messed it up. I only got a score of 82.
Safe travels and enjoy the slopes!

Traveling always messes up my sleep score and readiness score.
