thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week was a really toasty one! Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and life.

A toasty hot Weekly Run Down

Sunday-travel home from Philly

After another sticky morning walk in Philly and a delish brunch, I hopped back on the train and headed home. The train was full of FIFA fans from the Philly game and those heading back to DC for some of the other 250 celebrations. A quick Peloton core class got me my check mark for the day.

Monday-core + upper body strength + lower body strength + power walk

I was ready to get back to my typical hit it hard Monday schedule. Today’s lower body class was sneaky hard with split squats, off set dead lifts and jump squats.

Only a real idiot waits until 3 pm to go for a power walk in this heat. I guess I am that idiot! LOL my day just got away from me and I started off much later than planned. I survived!

Tuesday-Pilates reformer + stretch

Today was my weekly Pilates reformer class. I’m starting to get the hang of the terms and the breathing. Later, I met my mom and my sister for lunch and then we headed over to visit my dad. He is doing a lot better this week thankfully and has more energy.

Wednesday-core Pilates + full body strength + tread hike

I started off with a challenging core Pilates class followed by a toasty full body strength class. It was too hot to walk outside so I hopped on the tread for a hike. Later, it was Mahjong Wednesday. I had a good go of it and won 2 games.

Thursday-upper body strength + core + tread hike

oof! It’s 101 degrees in the shade! Needless to say, my hike was done on my tread. I did cool off in the pool for a while which was just perfect.

Friday-mat Pilates/core + lap swim

I had a double “play date” today. After doing my morning Pilates class, a friend came over to swim laps. The pool is the place to be when it’s over 100.

Later, 2 other friends came over for a little bubbly and pool mahjong. It’s the only way to beat the heat.

Saturday- core + full body strength + tread walk + stretch + lap swim

It’s another toasty one! I started my  morning with a nice sleep in followed by a full body strength and indoor walk. Later, my friend came over to hang in the pool again. Happy 4th of July! I’m truly grateful to be living in our country and proud to be an American.

Sunday-today is my dad’s 88th birthday and I’m so happy that we are able to celebrate with him later today.

You’re doing really well with the mahjong! Is it hard to learn? I know absolutely nothing about the game.
Our dads are the same age! How nice that he is recovering so well! Enjoy your time together today.

Happy birthday to your dad! Glad to hear he’s doing better.

You’re lucky to have the pool–I’ve been spending my fair share of time indoors to escape the heat. Not exactly what I want to do in summer!

I don’t like having to do so many indoor workouts either. Hopefully this week is better. Yes we are so glad he is doing better

It certainly has been toasty, but it looks like it’s going to cool off a bit this coming week.

Hope you had a fabulous 4th of July celebration yesterday! Ditto on being grateful to live in the USA and proud to be an American!

It’s good to hear that your dad is recovering and you were able to visit him on his birthday. Happy belated birthday to him!

Heat seems to be the theme of the week.

    Lucky you with a pool.

And winning a bag jongg. I did not win this week.

    Hope the weather cools down.

The pool is the place to be this week — or for me, in my cool basement with our turbo fan blowing on me!

Congratulations at your mah jong wins!

There’s nothing positive about this weather right now. I just need a break in the heat and humidity.
