Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. I’m back in my groove and ending May on a strong note. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness.

Ending May on A strong note Weekly Run Down

Sunday-hip mobility + power walk

I started off the day with a hip mobility class and then met up with a friend for a weighted vest 3 mile walk. Later, there was a lull in the rain and we stopped by a friend’s Memorial Day get together. Patriotic outfits on point!

Monday-upper body strength & hike + core + stretch

It sure did not feel like a Monday! It’s still raining around here so outdoor plan were off. I got in a good solid workout and then tackled some more home organization.

Tuesday-core + mobility + Pilates reformer class

After really enjoying a few reformer classes on my trip, I signed up to do a few private training classes to see what they were really all about. I liked my first class a lot and feel like Pilates will be a great compliment to the strength and cardio I am currently doing. Well, I thought I had a good rain free window to sneak out and get my after lunch walk in. Alas, I did not. Well, I need to shower anyway!

Wednesday-core + lower body strength & tread hike + stretch

It has literally been raining everyday for over a week! It was lower body strength day followed by the tread hike and a stretch. I used my bench to elevate the split squat intensity. Later, Wednesdays are for Mahjong! It was fun to use my new set.

Thursday-upper body push + hike + core + power walk + stretch

It finally stopped raining! After getting in my upper body push and hike class, I met a friend for our hilly weighted vest walk. It was pretty glorious out!

Friday-core + lower body strength & hike + stretch

Nice strength workout to end the week on a strong note. It’s finally gorgeous weather here and I’m looking forward to enjoying it the next few days.

Saturday-standing core + power walk + Pilates + stretch

After a great standing core class, I headed out for a power walk with my weighted vest. It was another gorgeous day to enjoy! Later I fit in a Pilates ball class and stretch. I stretched everyday this week (via 10m peloton classes) and I feel fantastic. Go figure!

It was a pretty good week around here and it’s nice to finish the month on a strong note! How about you?

I agree, I think Pilates is a great way to complement strength and cardio! I running buddy of mine does it and he swears by it, too.
Now, if only I could get myself to sign up for it!

I’ve never done Pilates, but like Catrina, I have friends who do it and love it! I’m glad you had such a strong ending to the month! Me too!

Oh my gosh, it looks like you got soaked!

At least the weather this weekend is a nice as last weekend’s was dreary.

You are going all in with Pilates — I bet you will love it!

I’ve been doing the Peloton mat classes for a few months and they are great core work. I think a once a week reformer class will be a nice compliment to my strength workouts.

I’ve never done Pilates but I do want to try it.

Love the mah jongg set. So pretty. Hope it makes you lucky and you got a lot of jokers.

2 races this week. Rained for both!!!

It’s crazy how much mahjong has grown and how many accessories there are!

Sounds like you had a fantastic week and are back in the grove after the wedding and the trip!

I am so loving these last few day’s weather after last weekend’s (and beyond) washout. We’re still in a moderate drought and desperately need rain, though, so I’m not going to complain if we get more.

This was the most glorious weather week! I wish we could bottle it

Not running related, but I LOOOOVE your flag sweater!! It is so cute and so perfect for this time of year. You and your husband are always so well dressed together 🙂 We had so much rain last week and last weekend, but we’re finally in the clear! We have no rain in the 7 day forecast and I am so going to take advantage of it. I have never really done pilates, but i know the benefits would be great! I’m interested!

Sounds like you had a strong week- glad the rain stopped! Pilates is great- I haven’t done it in a looooong time. I never did a reformer class though. I’m sure it’s extra challenging! I’m noting that you stretched every day this week and feel fantastic- I have to up my stretching game!

The daily stretching made a huge difference for me this week. I’m going to keep it up this week as well

That looks like a really good week, and definitely finished May strong! I’m glad you got some good rain-free weather in the end. I haven’t tried Pilates but have a feeling that many of the exercises I do outside of the gym would be classified as Pilates (not reformer). Have a good week ahead!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/31/2026 at 5:12 pm

Yes so much of Pilates are things we already do so I am sure you have done them as well

Excellent consistency with all that stretching! I really need to take a cue form you on that! So much rain…I’m glad things cleared for you as the weekend approached. I had rain yesterday in the final miles of my race, but I was ready crazy sweaty, so it wasn’t much of an issue, LOL.

Now we just need some solid sunny days so we can enjoy our pools. Bring on the sunshine!!

Sounds like a really nice mix of workouts this week and I am glad you were able to take advantage of a break in the rain. 🙂

Funny, I also started taking some Pilates classes again this week… it feels like a nice combination of yoga and strength.
