Finishing HiLit* Feeling Strong 💪 Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week I finish up my 6 week HiLit+ (high intensity low impact training) with Peloton. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and life.

Finishing HiLit+ Feeling strong 💪Weekly Run Down

Sunday-power walk

After a nice sleep in, I got in a long power walk before it got too hot out there. I spent the afternoon reading in the pool. We finally had a day without rain! This book had me hooked and I read the whole thing this weekend. If you like twisty mystery books, Alice Feeney does it again.

Monday-lower body strength + core + low impact cardio

Monday was off to a strong start! I felt really good with today’s lower body strength. I’m getting used to the low  impact cardio but it’s not my favorite.

Tuesday-power walk + reformer pilates

After last night’s storm, You could cut the humidity with a knife. I took advantage of the clouds and got in a longer power walk. Later, I tried another group reformer pilates class. I am still figuring out which type of class I like. Today’s was a ton of core and balance and that was just what I was looking for.

Wednesday-upper body strength + core

After a nice high 95 sleep score, I was ready to push it on my workout today. I was feeling strong with these bent over rows and heavy chest presses. (I know it’s  bad form to lift your head like this-just did it for the photo :))

Later, I met my son for lunch and then met the girls for Mahjong. I heard on the news that the PowerBall lottery was up to a billion dollars, so I took an after dinner walk to the 7-11 and bought a few tickets. You can’t win if you don’t play!

Well, I did not win the billions but I did win $104 so my net profit was a whopping $4. LOL

Thursday-power walk + stretch

I took advantage of a not too hot morning and got in a nice long power walk. I was kind of sore today from this week’s strong finish.

Friday-reformer Pilates and stretch class

Today’s reformer class had some serious core and balance work. I love finding new ways to challenge myself!

Saturday-lower body strength + core + power walk

Today I finished the 6 week HiLit+ program! I can honestly say I loved it more than I thought I would. I’m ending these 6 weeks feeling a lot stronger and using heavier weights. I have 1 week until our vacation and I’m not sure if I will repeat the last week again or do something else this coming week. I can say, I plan to do another round in September after our travels.

I saw this in one of the Peloton groups and it really resonated with me. Maybe it will you as well…

Well done on completing the 6 weeks of HiLit! It really seems to work so well for you!

Your Pilates setup looks so sophisticated and professional! I went to a Pilates class at my gym this week but it was very disappointing. It was because of the teacher – I don’t know what her plan was. I’m pretty sure a proper Pilates class involves more than stretching and a few downward dogs! 😅
