Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week was kind of stressful as my dad was not feeling well and was admitted into the hospital for a few days. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and life.

A stressful Weekly Run Down
Sunday-Peloton cycle + core + stretch
It’s been a few weeks since I hopped on my Peloton bike and I am not in bike shape lol. No worries it’s all good. It was hot and humid again today and lounging by the pool was perfect.
Monday-core + lower body strength + upper body strength + stretch
Sometimes I like to do separate strength classes for upper and lower body instead of a a full body class. I feel like I get more intense of a workout. This lower body class had some jump squats and drop squats-good for the bones.
Later, I was super excited to try out the floating Mahjong set that my kids gave me for Mother’s Day. We are going to have fun with this all summer.
Tuesday-Pilates reformer + power walk
Today was my weekly Pilates reformer session where we did a few new things and also ventured into trying to wall springs. And they do kind of look like a torture device! Later, it was a nice afternoon for a long walk. It also took me 2 hours to clean out the old fridge to prepare for our new one arriving Thursday.
Wednesday-power walk + upper body strength + weighted vest standing core
We are back to toasty, summer temps around here. I got out for my morning walk before doing my strength class today. I also enjoyed a standing core class that uses the weighted vest. Right up my alley!
Later, it was mahjong Wednesday! I tried a couple new hands and won twice-yay!
Thursday-lower body strength + core + Pilates
This is where things got stressful! My dad was admitted to the hospital for some complications with existing conditions. He is a retired Doctor and very stubborn and thinks he knows everything. Anyway, I spent much of the afternoon there with my Mom and sister. One of my son’s best friends is also in another local hospital for a serious condition.
Friday-no workouts unless you count pacing around the hospital. I spent a few hours sitting with my dad at the hospital. Doctors are the worst patients! I know the nurses really do so much for the patients they care for and I quickly made up a basket of snacks and treats to bring to all them on the floor. My son’s friend turned the corner and he will be alright so that was a big relief.
Saturday-upper body strength
My daughter and her new husband flew in late last night so that she could see her grandfather before they leave on their honeymoon. He was happy to spend time with them and my son and I think that really brightened his mood. I also brought along some of his favorite foods. He seems to be doing a lot better today and has a lot more energy. We are hopeful that he can continue to improve. Getting in a quick upper body class gave me a little boost of endorphins.
A stressful week in the life department over here. Grateful to have my dad for Father’s Day albeit not the way we originally planned to spend the day with him.

Oh my goodness, Deborah, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad! I hope he continues to improve.
So thoughtful of you to bring snacks for the nurses! And how nice that your kids could come and see him too. ❤️
And yes, in moments like these, it’s great to have our workouts for stress relief.
Wishing your dad and your whole family all the best this week!
