Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week it sure felt like March Madness around here! And seriously, how is it time to write another weekly run down.

March Madness Weekly Run Down

Sunday-core + cycle + power walk

I am finally feeling back to normal and happy to be back at sea level. I got in a nice core and cycle class this morning and met a friend for a power walk in the afternoon. It was kind of dreary out but with major storms expected the next 2 days, I was happy to get out for a walk.

Monday-core + lower body strength + Pilates

I was happy to be back in my gym and back to my  workout schedule. Today’s strength class was not one I would have picked and I didn’t love it but I got it done. There was a lot of drama in the weather department here today with tornado warnings all day. They really hyped it up even sending schools home early and having people work from home. We got nothing more than a rainy day. My son’s girlfriend from Oklahoma found it quite entertaining. March Madness for sure!

Tuesday-core +upper body strength + Pilates and tread walk

It was upper body strength day over here with the usual core added on. I also added in a lower body Pilates class that used sliders. Fun to do something different and great balance work.

Later I had my hair trial for the wedding. It’s getting close!

Wednesday-core + Pilates upper body

I had my yearly physical today which literally takes 3 hours! They are very thorough. That left me scrambling to get some classes in before getting ready for Mahjong. I’m really loving these weekly games with the girls.

Thursday-core + lower body strength + tread walk

I really liked this lower body class today that used the bench for split squats and hip thrusts. Later, it was another wedding planning session. It’s getting real! March Madness is officially feeling like madness.

Friday-upper body strength + core + Pilates and walk

I had a nice little stack today of strength and Pilates. I am enjoying this classes with the Pilates ring-they re harder than they look (in a good way). These upper body strength classes were chosen by the Peloton personal trainer.

Saturday -cycle + core + walk

Today had me back on the Peloton for an intervals and arms class with Denis followed by core. Later, it was feeling like late spring with sunny and almost 70 degrees out. It was so nice to take a walk around the hood.

That’s about it for this busy albeit productive week!

Sounds like a busy week! I’m sure it feels great to be home. There’s nothing better than sleeping in your own bed! Have a great week.

Sounds like a crazy busy week and it’s just going to get busier between now and the wedding! Did you like your hair the way they styled it?

      03/22/2026 at 1:13 pm

Yes I do like my hair and being able to use my regular hair guy is helpful

Glad you are feeling back in the groove. That Jess Sims Arms + Shoulders is in my stack for this week. I haven’t taken a class with Johanna yet.

I’m sure all the wedding planning work will make it that much more special!

I really like the challenge of Johanna’s Pilates classes. TBH did not love Jess’ class. Some of the transitions were awkward for me having to switch weight sizes

wow what a crazy week! but it’s probably good to get back into your routine. hope you have a good week! and spring is finally here for you.

      Spring is definitely here

I love how you just kept stacking those workouts anyway, even when the classes weren’t your favourite. Those Pilates rings are the worst!

That 3-hour physical sounds very thorough. Did they include any stress tests like VO2 max or similar?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/22/2026 at 1:15 pm

I love the Pilates ring classes! They are sneaky challenging. They do not do a VO2 max test. Include hearing, eyes, EKG , bloodwork and INBody scan

Looks like the coach-lead Peloton classes are going well! I need to get better about scheduling my classes ahead of time. I tend to scramble “in the moment” to find ones that fit my limited morning pre-work schedule. How did you like your hair? My gal, who I’ve been going to for 25 years, is great, but lately she’s been trying to style my hair ala 70’s, and ugh, LOL. I love the color, but I had to sneak it into a quick messy ponytail before meeting my friends for dinner last week (I was already running late, so there was no time for her to do something different with it).

Ooh not good when they decide to go off the plan without consulting! 🙂 I find planning out my classes to be a huge help

That is a busy and productive week! Nice job with all that strength work. Ooh, you must be getting excited- how long till the wedding? Six weeks? Sounds like you’re thoroughly enjoying the buildup to it.
    Hope your spring weather continues!

      03/22/2026 at 1:17 pm

      Less than 4 weeks!! 🙂

Will your hair be styled up or down for the wedding? That sounds like fun having someone do it!
It sounds reassuring to have such a long physical. I appreciate how thorough that sounds!

I am planning to wear my hair up. Yes, I do appreciate the thorough physical

I’m glad you didn’t get that bad weather they forecasted! Good week for you with a lot of strength work – also the one you didn’t like.
Wow, 3 hours for a physical! That must include a lot of things! It must be handy to get everything done in one sitting.
    Exciting about the upcoming wedding!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/25/2026 at 6:02 pm

Yes it is naive to get it all in at once

  10. Jenn says

    03/23/2026 at 9:05 am

Way to get it all done, especially after travel days!

A three hour physical sounds absolutely grueling! You have some patience!

March is always mad for us. Mr PugRunner goes to the games with his brother and sometimes other family members (A will go if it aligns with spring break), so lots of moving parts in this house!

    Have a great week!

March is always busy for sure!
