Reunited and it feels so good

Monday-35 min Peloton cycle + 10 m core + 10 m chest and back strength

Monday motivation always feels good to start off the week strong.

reunited

Tuesday-4.75 mile run + stretch

Running is still feeling good and I am happy to be building up my shorter runs to about 4-5 miles on most days. Colder weather has returned and it was quite windy out there. My daughter came home a few days early from Chicago as everything is shutting down there again this week.

reunited

Wednesday 2.5 mile walk + 10 min core + 45 min bike boot camp

Mixed it up by going on a power walk first thing in the morning. This bike boot camp was tough! Everything was on fire today in a good way. My friend and I did a class at the same time so we had fun comparing notes.

Thursday- 4.75 mile run + stretch

Solo run for me today. It was only about 40 degrees and a little windy. Decided it was time to pull out my new holiday shirt. Perfect weight. It’s never too early for some feel good holiday spirit especially this year.

Friday- hip/glute strength + core + intervals and arms Peloton cycle

A little mix of everything today. My son came home this afternoon. Reunited! I love having both kids home again.

Saturday-3 mile walk and stretch class

Went over for an outdoor visit with the parents as my kids had not seen them since August. They have decided that they don’t feel comfortable doing an outdoor Thanksgiving anymore. I completely understand but I am disappointed nonetheless.

Sunday-Run day! 6 miles

Great cool Sunday morning happy hour.

Having both of my kids home makes me so happy! Reunited and it feels good. What’s making you happy this week? Tell me something good. have a happy thanksgiving. Thanks for linking up with us today.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Glad you kids are home. Hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.

This has been a very hard work week and also upsetting on the personal level which I shared in FB messenger.

Since this is about running.. I’m happy that I am able to run, I ran two short runs this week and then re-united with my running friends for a 10 mile run followed my brunch yesterday.

Isn’t it wonderful having the kids home? I love that our oldest and his wife moved back to the area and we see them most weekends now.

I love your new holiday shirt! I have to say that I have been so frustrated with getting the right sizes in clothing I’ve ordered, especially cycling gear, and I’ve returned far more items than I’ve kept.

Thanks for the linkup and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

cycling gear is always hard with sizing it runs really small in my opinion. Yes it’s the best to have them home

I love your run hat!! It is so cute. And hooray for having kids home! It’s hard to imagine the holidays any different I’m sure.

Enjoy your time with your kids! It’s definitely going to be a different kind of Thanksgiving but we are just trying to make the most of it.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/22/2020 at 1:50 pm

Yes we all have to do that and we will

Ok, I’ve tried multiple times to leave a comment…I’ve switched browsers, so here goes nothing!

Good news? I had some good runs this week, which made me very happy. I also found out that my long-awaited for sectional is finally being delivered tomorrow. That is very good news!

That’s so great that your kids are home. We’re kind of all stuck together here for, oh, the next 14 days. LOL! But seriously, I do enjoy having everyone home. We will be alone together for Thanksgiving also. No parents visiting us.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/22/2020 at 1:51 pm

Being stuck in the house together has it’s positives as well 🙂

Enjoy your full nest! I won’t be seeing my parents in person until they get vaccinated. We did some outdoor activities with them over the summer but it’s just too hard to keep distance from loved ones and it’s too risky for them. Now that the vaccine is on the horizon it won’t be too much longer until they’re safe.

Even though it will just be my husband and me for Thanksgiving, we’re still looking forward to it. And our Turkey Trot is still scheduled to be in person.

My parents are quite nervous. Fortunately, they live close enough for a drive by visit every so often

Great job on your workouts this week!

So happy that you are reunited with both of your children for the Thanksgiving holiday! Thanksgiving will certainly be different this year but hopefully we can all take the time to reflect on what we’re thankful for 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/22/2020 at 2:36 pm

yes very different but I always have a lot to be thankful for

  10. Jessie says

    11/22/2020 at 2:15 pm

It will be a very different Thanksgiving for most, though hopefully that means healthy full Thanksgivings in the future! Glad your kids are home.

Love the Run hat! Thanks for hosting the link-up!

So nice to be reunited! Family is definitely so important this year, but I understand how your parents feel. I feel badly I can’t be with my mom on Thanksgiving — not even sure a Zoom will be happening — but if the weather holds, hoping to visit on Friday.

You kept yourself active even with the kiddos home! Go You! Happy Thanksgiving!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/22/2020 at 3:00 pm

Yes it’s definitely disappointing not to be able to be with the parents. I know you know how it feels. Will just make it extra special next year

  12. Marcia says

    11/22/2020 at 4:03 pm

Yay! Enjoy your kiddos. You know I’m right there with you loving that we’re all together. Your daughter is not kidding. Stuff is totally shutting down in Chicago again and it sucks. LOVE your holiday running top!

    • Deborah Brooks says

I know she was glad to get out for almost 2 weeks! stay safe my friend

I am happy both of your kids are home with you. I know how much you miss them and was looking forward to them being home.

I lover your colorful pants and the holiday shirt.

Thanksgiving will be interesting this year. Still not sure exactly what I will be doing. It sucks that we cannot get together with family members like before.

  16. Michael says

I am committed to doing the daily workouts. By the way, it’s always nice spending time with family. When we talk about kids in the family – they are an important aspect because having kids at home always makes my home full of fun. It irritates little when they roar while I’m doing some important work on my laptop.
