Popping in for a Fast Friday. It has been a while since I’ve done a loving lately post. Today, I am going to give you a quick peek into what I am reading, eating, watching, and loving this October. This post contains affiliate links.
Loving this October
Well, of course, I am loving the weather. Crisp morning air makes for the most perfect runs and afternoon walks. I am just soaking it all in while it lasts. Here are a few more things I am loving this October.
Reading
On my nightstand, I am deep into The Maidens. It’s the second book by Alex Michaelides the author of last year’s The Silent Patient. If you like psychological thrillers, check out these two.
On my audible, I am listening to Malibu Rising. It is keeping me entertained on my afternoon walks. If you think your family has drama, wait until you read about theirs.
Watching
I just binge-watched Maid on Netflix-ooh so good limited series about a young girl escaping an abusive relationship. Andie MacDowell is fantastic and acts alongside her real daughter. And of course, I am watching the 3rd season of YOU. I think this season is the best yet. The second season of Morning Show is not really doing it for me but I am watching anyway. And, yes of course I had to watch “Squid Game” because all the cool kids were. Ha ha. I have to say, I did not love it but I could not stop watching it, It was really over the top violent.
Eating
Apples are so good right now and one of my go-to fruit choices year-round. I have become quite the pescatarian the last year, I have been ordering my fresh fish from Vital Source where it comes in individually flash frozen portion sizes. (use this link to save $20) I credit eating fish (and more protein) to many of my running and fitness gains this past year. I feel so much better with more protein in my life and I am eating it about three times a week. Fish tacos with pineapple slaw anyone? my favorites are Halibut, tuna, and cod.
Wearing
I always find it exciting to break out the jeans and hoodies every fall. It was time for an update this year and I found some cute jeans at Madewell.
Tell me what are you reading, watching, eating, and wearing right now? What are you loving this October?

Oooh! I love “loving lately” posts. i vote for it being a regular feature! October is one of my favorite months. It’s still hot here, but I get into the spirit of fall with scented candles, pumpkin spice, and cozy blankets (even though we still have our AC on- I know, Floridians are weird!)

October is definitely a great time of the year. Have to enjoy it as best you can down there

I started Hail Mary (audiobook) on the way to my mom yesterday. it’s like a cross between Interstellar & the Martian (if you’re familiar with them). It had me from the very beginning — but since I tend to only listen on long drives . . .
Definitely loving the Fall weather.
No to Squid Squad. I am not a fan of violent. So haven’t even peeked.
It’s funny how I get really tired of sweaters by the end of Winter, but never tire of skirts & tanks in the Summer! It’s so tricky to get the outfit just right this time of year — running or just every day life.
Sounds like you’re loving life & that’s a great thing Deborah. 🙂

I also love sweaters at the beginning of the season but then not so much. I could not help myself with Squid Games but I did not really like it.Enjoy your fall weather

Thanks for the Netflix recommendations. I plan to try Squid games. Just because. I do not have Apple TV. I started Ordinary Joe. It is interesting.
I love to read but so little time.
I still want to wear skirts and tanks. sigh! Every time I start to wear a sweater, it gets warm out again
Deborah Brooks says
I will check out Ordinary Joe. My kids made me watch Squid Games it is violent but so interesting from a sociological perspective

I should check out Maid. The kids all talked about Squid Game, and the hubby’s been watching, but it’s too violent for me. I’m due for new jeans…thanks for the rec! Just put on some black skinnies this morning (that are fitting “loose” #score), but I don’t like the style anymore).
Deborah Brooks says
Maid was so good! I feel like the jeans just stop fitting right after a year or two. Maybe our bodies change or whatever. Madewell pants tend to fit me well

Definitely soaking up every minute of this great fall weather!
I haven’t started season 2 of the Morning Show yet but will probably dive in this weekend. I wanted to wrap up Ted Lasso’s second season first. I’m also looking forward to season 2 of Modern Love on Prime. Definitely taking a pass on Squid Games.
Thanks for linking up 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
I have not watched modern love yet I will check it out thanks

Our weather has been weird — so it’s been occasionally leggings/jeans and sweatshirt, but also flip flops. I’ll take it as I”m not ready for closed toe season. Mainly because I don’t know what to wear to walk to work in the shoulder season.
Bingeing the Practical Magic series and looking forward to Mary Roach’s new one, Fuzz. Will look for Maidens as it seems up my alley. I so wanted to like MOrning Show, but I can’t get into it
Deborah Brooks says
You will love Maidens! So good. This time of the year is tough with shoes for sure!
Cari says
I want to wear a dress to the office tomorrow, but I don’t have walk commute shoes. Maybe I’ll pack ballet flats and walk in sneakers.
Maidens on NYPL hold queue. Will let you know when I get it.
Deborah Brooks says
the shoe issue is complicated this time of the year! I am halfway through Maidens it is good
Jenn says
Love this!
We haven’t gotten into apples yet. I do have to read The Silent Patient for a book club that I’m supposed to attend.
Love those jeans!
I need to watch You. I am currently brushing up on The Great in advance of Season 2, and I want to watch DopeSick.
Deborah Brooks says
You will love silent patient! It’s so good
