Is That you fall?

Monday- 20min Peloton cycle + 60 min strength training

Feeling a little leg tired from the Tri race yesterday. Did a nice flush out low impact cycle ride and that really helped.

Tuesday-3.15 mile run + 60 min hot yoga

Short run today. It was tough to get the legs moving. Starting to get slightly cooler in the mornings. Hot yoga felt amazing as usual.

fall is that you?

Wednesday- 20 min Peloton class + 90 min strength training and kickboxing

Focusing on upper body work today. These pullovers on the ball are always tough. Ever try them?

Thursday- 5 mile run

Hey fall is that you? Woke up to nice cool temps and that made all the difference for me today! I actually enjoyed my run for the first time in months.

Friday- 30 min Peloton + 20 min Peloton Yoga flow

Always feels good to spin it out on tired legs. Followed that up with a Peloton yoga class.

fall is that you?

Saturday- 5.5 mile run

Woke up to another cooler morning. We are still going up to the mid 80’s every afternoon but our mornings are getting cooler. That is making all the difference for me. I had another run which left me smiling. Ran through a beautiful rose garden and the flowers are still in bloom. Fall is that you? Please hang around!

Sunday- Rest Day and Soup Club

Rest day for me today! Our soup club starts up again today. I have a really fun recipe to share tomorrow for Meatless Monday. Hope you will stop back in and check it out.

Thanks for joining us! Has fall made an appearance for you yet?

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

It sounds like you had a great week. And yes, the cooler early morning temps feel wonderful! I ran this morning at 7 AM while it was still cool (63°). It was my first run since last weekend’s half and I felt good, albeit slow…

    Thanks for the linkup!

We *had* fall, til this weekend, LOL. Now there’s some Indian summer!MN is still a bit wonky.

Glad you’re getting to enjoy cooler mornings! For me it helps not having to get out so darn early. Have a great week!

I may have jumped the gun a bit since it’s currently 90! Yes the mornings are better for sure

Ha, it was in the 80s this weekend near us so fall definitely wasn’t here. Luckily, we went hiking and it was shady for our hike so it was closer to 70s and pleasant. I’m not ready for fall yet – I love warm weather and am not looking forward to cold mornings or snow!

Glad to hear you’re finally getting a break in the weather. I know how much you have been craving some cooler temps 😉 Ironically, we had a weird summer-flashback last week, complete with high humidity and steep temps. Personally, I didn’t mind it becasue I know it will not stick around very long…

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/22/2019 at 2:02 pm

May have spoken too soon bc it’s currently pushing 90!

Oooh I am hoping we get some of that fall weather! We had a taste of it in Chicago a few weeks back but the humidity is back with a vengeance. I started a Soup Group with some friends – we just post recipes and don’t do a get together but I hope that changes as we get more into fall. I look forward to the recipe!

I’m loving the cool mornings/evenings and warm days. This can stick around for a bit IMHO. I know we are going to have a whole lot of cold weather for 7 months so let’s extend it as long as we can. Lol!

BUt I feel you on the cool mornings. When I know I’m in a number of work meetings I’m wearing longer sleeves so I don’t need a jacket

      fall is a tease!

  15. Liz Dexter says

It’s autumn here with the leaves turning and crunching under foot. Much nicer running conditions.

No update blog post from me this week as we had to say goodbye to our beloved pet cat, and although I did run and officiate in the week, I didn’t feel up to taking photos or sharing joy, just got out there to keep going and keep routines and have some minutes where I was just thinking about breathing and running hard.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/23/2019 at 6:51 am

You got after it this week, for sure! I would love to be part of anything called Soup Club. It is getting a wee tiny bit cooler and more breezy here. I’m not going to complain about a slight break in the heat and humidity.
