Happy Friday! We have had a crazy week of comings and goings around our house this week and it’s been a bit zooey. It’s a perfect week for a Loving Lately August post. This post is sponsored by Moms Meet on behalf of Coola. All opinions are my own.
Loving Lately August
Loving Lately August: Giving Back
I saw these “No Kid Hungry” spatulas in the William Sonoma catalog. A number of celebrities designed these spatulas and 30% of the proceeds go the No Kid Hungry cause. You can find designs by Alton Brown, Neil Patrick Harris and Faith Hill to name a few. I kind of like the American Girl design (“mix it up”) below and plan to order that one. (Image source)
Loving Lately August: Baby Cantaloupes
I have only seen these baby cantaloupes at a farmers market in the middle of nowhere Maryland right near where my son goes to camp. I grab as many as I can when I pick him up each August. They are so sweet and juicy and make a perfect fruit bowl.
Loving Lately August: Running in Bloomington, IN
I am dropping off my daughter back at school in Indiana this week. Love it when I have the chance to sneak out for a short run on the beautiful and mostly flat B-Line trail. This photo is from my last visit but I hope to have had the chance to run on here again by the time you read this.
Loving Lately August: New biking skirts
I am all about the cute workout skirts! Back by popular demand, Skirt Sports has re-released an updated version of the Cruiser Bike Girl. With new and improved features and a cute new look, I can’t wait to take it for a spin. They have a mid weight chamois liner and 2 pockets. The jersey skirt has UV50+ protection. Mine is on the way! Check them out here and use FWC20 for 20% off of anything on the site.
Loving Lately August- Coola Suncare
Speaking of UV Sun protection- I am loving the Coola Sport SPF 50 Guava Mango Suncreen. After having a few pre cancerous spots frozen off of my face the last year, I am making a conscious effort to be more vigilant about applying sunscreen. My days of baking away out on the beach or by the pool are less and less. And well, there is the whole aging thing. If I am going to use anti aging products on my face to reduce wrinkles, I need to be better with my sunscreen.
I am very picky about my sunscreens so what’s to love about Coola Sport SPF 50 Guava Mango Sunscreen?
-It smells like Hawaii in a bottle seriously it smells like a tropical smoothie.
-Coola is free of parabans, paba and phthalates
-Coola ingredients are over 70% organic, locally sourced
-Made with plant based products like raspberries and algae
-I felt protected during my long bike ride without feeling sticky
-Water resistant for up to 80 min
-Packed with antioxidant ingredients and fewer additives
I am very conscious about the products I put into my body and I want to feel just as confident about the products I put onto my body. You can find all these great Coola Suncare products as well as some great travel sized bottles right here. (Use Brooks20 for a 20% off) Thanks again to Coola Suncare for the allowing me to sample all of these products.
Tell me-What are you loving lately? Are you good about applying sunscreen?

Oh, I am always on the look out for good chamois these days! I’m so picky though. I’m going to be in Boulder in September and hope to make it to the store to try things on!
Deborah Brooks says
That’s great I hope you make it to the store
Chaitali says
That sunscreen sounds great! I love that it’s over 70% organic. I’ve never heard of them before but I’m definitely going to look for them.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes do I am really happy w them so far
Cyndi says
Hawaii in a bottle? I need to try the Coola sunblock! Love that its more natural. Lately, I’m loving my new compression socks. And I’ve been using the Aquaphor on my feet and it is awesome. Thank you for the suggestion:)
Deborah Brooks says
Oh so glad to hear the aquaphor is working for you
Sarah says
Things have been crazy here too! I love the spatulas and have been debating and the family has been loving cantaloupe, although my oldest is no longer allowed to eat halves with a spoon after leaving one out a couple days ago she didn’t finish.
Now this sunscreen….. I cannot tell her about or she will freak. Her favorite fruit is mango and she loves Guava Mama Chia drinks so I think she would flip for this sunscreen. I’ll have to hunt it down first and throw it in her soccer bag to surprise her.
Deborah Brooks says
That’s a nice surprise!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Never heard of baby cantaloupes! I could probably eat them in one sitting — love melons! Except watermelon.
I use COOLA too. Except the unscented one. Bugs already seem pretty attracted to me, I don’t want to encourage them!
Deborah Brooks says
The only place I see these baby cantaloupes is at this little farm in the middle of nowhere
Kimberly says
I also love baby cantaloupes! I love those spatulas from Williams Sonoma. They have a store in my mall so i might stop by to make a purchase since it’s for such a great cause.
Deborah Brooks says
They are cute and yes for a good cause
Marina @ Happy Healing says
Yummm love that cantaloupe bowl idea!
I’m usually very good about putting sunscreen on! Being burnt is the worst thing ever.
Hope you enjoy your weekend, Deborah!
Deborah Brooks says
Being burnt is just awful that and chafing ugh
Susan @ Culinary Envy says
What am I loving….I loving your posts lately! I have not seen the baby cantaloupes, but I will be on the lookout for them. And those spatulas are too cute! Thanks for sharing!
Deborah Brooks says
Oh you are so sweet have a great weekend
Darlene says
I love running in new places. So although I HATE my new job, I get to travel and run when I’m there.
I’m good about sunscreen in the beginning of the summer but once I get a dark base dark (I tan easily), I forget about it 🙁
Deborah Brooks says
I used to be like that too w sunscreen I am trying to be better
Lacey@fairytalesandfitness says
I do apply sunscreen before each run. I have the copper tone blue spray right now and it kind of burns. I need to try this brand.
Deborah Brooks says
If sunscreen burns my eyes or skin I am not using it!
Megan @ Meg Go Run says
I never even heard of baby cantaloupes! I do enjoy the spray sunscreen and usually get the SPF 50 or SPF 70. I still get pretty tan though because I don’t always use it on my runs. I DO put it on my face though. Not good enough, I know!
Deborah Brooks says
I know I am trying to get better at using it on my runs and bike rides as well
Lesley says
I have sunscreen on my grocery list this week since training kicks off soon. My race is the weekend after we fall back an hour, so there will still be sunlight when I’m training after work.
Deborah Brooks says
At least you won’t have to run in dark!
Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says
I know you got to run on that path again… love the mural! I also know that you are kind of sad right now…hugs….
Deborah Brooks says
I know it’s really hard to let them go isn’t it?! Hugs right back at you thanks
Kimberly Hatting says
oooooh that sunscreen sound delish! I don’t use sunscreen as diligently as I should because I can’t stand the “mechanical” fragrance of it. But something that smells like raspberries? Oh yeah, I’d be all over that (actually, it would be all over me LOL)
Deborah Brooks says
LOL yes the smell of my sunscreen has to work for me too. I also don’t like when it’s all sticky feeling but so far so good with this one
Akaleistar says
The sunscreen sounds awesome! I want to smell like a tropical smoothie 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
Who doesn’t?!
Mary Beth Jackson says
I have tried a couple of coola products that I really like! The spatula collection looks super cool- you know I have to have one!
Deborah Brooks says
I know me too! 🙂
Stephanie ReadsWell says
It is an incredible list of must-haves! I liked that sunscreen from the above list.
Deborah Brooks says
I really have been enjoying the sunscreen myself lately
