Thanks for joining Sarah and me for Meatless Monday today. Tis the season for entertaining! My new easy and delicious party staple is the amazing Cheese Board. Everyone loves to snack on them and they are easily customizable. With just a few minutes of prep, you can wow your guests with a Pinterest Worthy Cheese Board.
How To Create A Pinterest Worthy Cheese Board
Start out with a great canvas. I like to use a marble board like this one or this round one however any large platter will do.
Add 4-6 types of cheese with varying textures (hard and soft) and tastes (mild and sharp). I always like to include a Brie because everyone loves Brie. Cheeses flavored with seasonal items like cranberries juxtaposed with a spicy flavored cheese wins over everyone.
Pile on all the crackers. I like to mix in some breadsticks for visual effect and a combo of square and round crackers. A blend of rice crackers and wheat crackers works well for those with any gluten free requirements.
Sweet and salty is a fabulous combination and all great cheese boards also have some sweet fruits such as grapes, apples or pears.
Now it’s time for a little crunch and texture. Mixed nuts, olives and snack mix are tasty additions that everyone loves to snack on. If you want to get a little daring, add some chocolate covered almonds or cashews as I did here. Really anything goes that you have in your pantry.
In just a few minutes time you have a Pinterest Worthy Cheese Board your family and friends will gobble up. Now all you need is some great red and white wine to pair with it but that’s a whole other post isn’t it?!
Tell me-are you hosting Thanksgiving, Christmas or Hanukkah this year? What are some of your go to appetizers to serve to friends and family?
Lacey@fairytalesandfitness says

Deborah Brooks says
Thanks! Cheese is so good isn’t it?!
Sarah says
Beautiful!!
I’m not a big cheese person (which is good since my tummy doesn’t like it) except when it came to cheese platters and wine! The last few years since testing dairy in Ireland it’s the one time of year I give in and test my tummy with cheese platters and sometimes it goes better then others but is all has to do with the cheeses.
This year should be interesting with S’s new lactose and tummy issues and her love of cheese. I know there are many without lactose and ones aged longer are easier on the tummy but still not sure what we’ll do.
Deborah Brooks says
Cheese is the reason I am not a vegan-I am not sure I could survive without it
Kimberly Hatting says

Thanks so much! Cheese is always a crowd pleaser

A good selection of cheese is definitely one of the easiest and most impressive appetizers you can set out. It’s a go-to for us. We have a wonderful local co-op, Puget Community Co-op, that has a great cheese selection. Some of our favorites: Dinah’s Cheese (local for us), Humboldt Fog, Cranberry Wensleydale. And you are right, gotta have the grapes!
Deborah Brooks says
Well all of those sound amazing!
Coco says
What a lovely cheese board! A friend brought a great one to my kitchen unveiling and left the board as a gift – I though it was such a fantastic home gift idea.

Oh yum, I love a good cheese board! My favorites are sharp cheeses with fruits. Our holidays are low key this year as we’re exoecting baby #2 the week of thanksgiving, but there is always a drawer full of cheese in my fridge. 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
I think baby would love some cheese! Good luck and congrats on the new addition
Karen G. says
Yum! Love this time of year! Although, I can never stand too close to the food table at a party, because I can never seem to control myself. 😉
That looks delicious, thanks!

The presentation looks great
I also like when the hostess labels the cheese with little cards or those chalkboard thingies ( yes I’m so technical..haha) so we know what flavor they are.
Thanks for the link up!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks yes it’s great to label them if you have space.
Julie @ Running in a Skirt says

Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I’m hosting Thanksgiving this year – I do every year as well as a post-race brunch on Thanksgiving morning.
Your cheese board is lovely and I’ve pinned it for later use. I make a large antipasto platter for our Thanksgiving appetizer. In addition to a couple of cheeses, I add Italian meats, deviled eggs, olives, roasted red peppers, marinated mushrooms, artichoke hearts, crackers, etc. It gets inhaled!
Deborah Brooks says
Deviled eggs would also be a great addition I might add those next time too
Kimberly Hatting says
This looks heavenly LOL I’m all about cheese. I’d never thought of adding fruit, but grapes are a no-brainer!
Deborah Brooks says
All about all the cheese myself! #FastFriends 🙂
