Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week, I’m really focusing on trying to hit my step goals daily. Strength and cycle classes do not give me much credit towards those sadly. I’m on a mission to get them in this week with the warmer weather here. It is also peak Cherry blossoming week here in the DC area. Here’s a peek into my week.

Sunday-sore + power walk + stretch

It was a gorgeous day with an unexpected 80 degrees and sunny. I met up with a friend for a long power walk in the sunshine. First day of shorts and a tank top!

Monday-core x 2 + upper body strength + after lunch walk

Sometimes I Ike to do 2 shorter core classes stacked for a more intense workout with no rest. After a solid upper body class, I was ready for some steps outside on another nice sunny day. Later, it was a Mahjong party! I was nervous about the new 2026 game card but it was fun.

Tuesday-core + lower body strength + Pilates

It was a solid lower body strength day over here accompanied by a core and Pilates class with the ball. Hello hamstrings. I also had a nice phone catch up with my cohost Kim before meeting the girls for an after lunch walk and coffee. It was back to the 50’s today and the bright sunshine was nice.

Wednesday-Bike Bootcamp via Peloton + outdoor walk

Today was a 30 min bike bootcamp where we hopped off the bike for 7 min in the middle to do lots of pushups and a few upper body exercises. I got in a quick outdoor walk before heading to my regular mahjong group.

Thursday-Pilates and standing core + Cherry blossoming

I started my day with a fun standing core class with my weighted vest and a Pilates ball and ring class.I do love my fitness accessories!

Then it was perfect timing to catch the cherry blossoms in peak bloom. It was a gorgeous 80 degree day here in DC and the views were fabulous. Tourists and residents alike were out and about taking in the scenes.

Friday-full body strength

It was a busy day with a morning full body strength before rushing out to get my yearly mammogram. Remember to schedule yours! I spent the afternoon starting to put together boxes for those that will be staying at the hotel for the wedding. I did have time for a phone chat with Cari as well.

Saturday -Pilates + tread hike bootcamp

I warmed up with a Pilates class before jumping on the tread for a fun hiking bootcamp. These classes really fly by. Later, we were out and about at a friend’s birthday party.

Great job being so active this week–as usual. It’s nice to be able to get outside more, isn’t it?

I love all your cherry blossom photos! So beautiful.

    The wedding is almost here!

Yes I love to get outside as much as possible for my walks. You have to come see the blossoms one of these years

What a great week of workouts for you! I hear you on the steps (or not getting them with some types of workouts). With my Fitbit I got steps when riding outside, but Garmin doesn’t give me any unless I get off my bike to walk to the porta potty! LOL
I was so bummed that near peak fell on such a beautiful day and my husband and I had time to ride down to DC EXCEPT for the hair appointment in the early afternoon. Ugh! It takes about three weeks to get an appointment with my hair stylist and I wasn’t about to cancel last minute on him and have wait another three weeks to get in!

Oh I know about that I have to book 6 weeks out for my hair guy! Priorities for sure

Thanks for sharing. I was lucky to see them last year.

    It’s still winter up north.

The cherry blossoms never disappoint! Thursday was perfect to see them.

Are the bootcamps suggested by the trainer? I rarely choose them but they are fun for a change.

You are going all out for the wedding— the ultimate hostess!

The blossoms were prettier than I have seen them in a few years. Too bad they don’t last longer. Yes the bootcamp was suggested by the trainer. I rarely pick them on my own but a nice way to mix it up

I have my mammogram coming up in May. Thanks for reminding us- it’s important!

I had numerous people ask me how many Fight for Air Climbs I’ve done. I told them I’ve done the Climb every year since 2013, except for one year the Cherry Blossom 10-miler fell on the same day, and I was in DC. But, I had the company of you, and numerous others, and all the beautiful cherry blossoms, so it was a fabulous weekend nonetheless 😉

      03/29/2026 at 4:18 pm

Yes that was a fun weekend!

Great week! My husband is actually in DC with his brother right now. He said the cherry blossoms are stunning but his allergies have him down bad. Of course, all I want is to see these things in bloom in person, so maybe next year will be my year!

Yes it’s a little sneezy around here but worth it

It looks like great weather there! Such pretty blossoms. My mammogram is happening this week!
My monthly step challenge is ending soon so I have been making it a priority to hit my step goal daily, and then some, for the last week. I’ve moved up from 13th to 6th place in the last week!

Knowing you- I am sure you will crush that step challenge
