And here we are again…It’s time for another round of confessions and runfessions. Thanks to Marcia or hosting. Let’s jump right into it this April 2024.
April 2024 Runfessions and Confessions
I confess and Runfess…
When the Washingtonian 100 best restaurants list came out in January, we decided to mount an effort to visit as many as possible this year. We do consider ourselves foodies and we are up for the challenge! Some on the list we had preciously dined at and many are new to us.
I confess and Runfess…
We got a little taste of summer recently and I quickly remembered why I dislike summer running. Our humidity is fierce around here and I have a hard time adapting to it. As I’ve gotten older, running in the heat and humidity is just not fun. I am determined to keep up my base this summer so I will have to suck it up.
I confess and Runfess…
Well it would not be a confessions post if I did not tell you something juicy. For as long as I can remember, I’ve slept in a tank top or t shirt type of pajamas and always socks. A few months ago, I added a giant fan next to bed because I was much warmer than my husband. Note, we have always kept our bedroom around 66-67 for sleeping. A few weeks ago, I decided to sleep naked and wow, game changer. I slept so much better and my sleep scores on my Oura prove it! Guess I’m sleeping naked from now on!
That’s about all I’ve got to confess and Runfess today. See you next week for the Ultimate Coffee Date linkup.

Haha, juicy indeed!
A few years ago, a friend told me she slept naked. I was inspired and I tried it for about a year and it worked well. I don’t even know why I’m wearing pyjamas again.
I always feel a lot warmer than Kai, too. Now we’ve arranged it so that he has a duvet while I only use the bedlinen for my side of the bed. However, sometimes it does get too cold for me and then I steal his duvet…
Deborah Brooks says
Ha we were in the same boat where my husband wants a slightly heavier blanket and it keeps drifting over to my side. Challenges!
Coco says
LOL. I want to hear more about those restaurants.
If I went to bed nude I’m not sure my husband would be able to let me sleep!
Deborah Brooks says
that would also be a bonus! 🙂
There were a few new restaurants on the list this year that we wanted to try. So far so good
Marcia says
Interesting about the naked sleep! I turn the heat down to 64 at night so it’s quite chilly. Hubby likes it cold too so it works. The restaurant challenge sounds like a fun one!
Deborah Brooks says
That is the temp that I like too but all of the sudden my husband wants another blanket and I am not having it
Jenny says
Oh really? i may have to try your sleep hack. We turn the AC down to 68 at night, and it’s not cool enough for me, but my husband is freezing. I also feel like our AC might explode if we run it any lower. And yes- i used to have no issues running in the heat, but now it’s SO hard.
I love your restaurant quest! You’ll have to let us know your top ten.
Deborah Brooks says
Try a big fan on your side of the bed it really helps. Also go for it and sleep naked-please report back!
Jenn says
Hahaha! I have slept naked forever. I can’t stand having clothes on me at night, but I also need my weighted blanket. I just can’t get comfortable.
Deborah Brooks says
The struggle is real!
Kimberly Hatting says
Hahaha!!! I’m always cold, so I need my jammies 🙂 The restaurant list sounds like a great quest… makes me wonder if Des Moines had something similar…
Deborah Brooks says
Well they must have some great restaurants to try! Please report back!
Michelle says
Always fun to try new restaurants – my hubs and I always checking out the “best of” lists. You’ll have to share your faves!
I have not tried sleeping naked – I’m usually the one who’s cold and looking for an extra blanket.
Deborah Brooks says
Ha I seem to always be hot now so it’s going well! New restaurants are always fun for us foodies
