So if you are anything like me, you’ve been “pinning” away all kinds of great looking workout routines onto your Pinterest boards. You may have spent countless hours wasting time searching through your home feed for months to find the perfect routines. You’ve got “rock hard abs”, “amazing legs” “cardio killer” etc cued up and ready to go. Have you ever actually done any of the workouts you’ve pinned?? Ha! Me either! Until today when I was motivated by my Thanksgiving over indulgence to do as many as I could. Sometimes you are just in the mood to do something new and I figured the day after Thanksgiving was a good day to give it a go. Here’s what I did:
The Warm Up-I love this routine designed by my friend Tina. It’s great before a run or any workout. She has some great advice and demonstrates proper form on her youtube channel as well.
Time to “Hitt” the elliptical. I had to modify this a tad because my elliptical doesn’t incline. I did the first 45 min of this one. Seriously, was a much harder routine than I expected. I was sweating buckets after this one. Found on HeandSheEatclean
I loved this routine! I was challenged in a good way and really felt my abs working. I will be doing some of these moves again. The only one I had trouble with was the plank roll out with the medicine ball. Need to work on that.
Next up: “14 Moves for the perfect Bubble Butt” (A girl’s gotta dream right??) found on Skinnymom.com
The wall sits were a lot harder than I remember. I felt my hamstrings and abs a lot too perhaps because I had already done the previous routines. This site has great instruction on the exercises and helpful photos. I will be doing this one again. It is staying pinned on my board.
And finally, just to burn the arms out I did the “20 Epic Battle Ropes” exercises. I’ve been a fan of battle ropes for about a year (read my post here) and love the way they burn my arms out at the end of a workout. It’s like doing sprint training for your arms. They are easy to add into a home or gym routine and have I find have a big return. I learned a few new ways to use them with this routine from Greatist.
All of this took me well over 2 hours to complete. I was completely exhausted/feeling pretty bad ass! I am pretty sure that these were not meant to be done back to back like this but I’m crazy like that so you don’t have to be! I feeling very accomplished and pretty sure that I am on my way to six pack abs and “bubble butt” what ever that is. So I will be keeping these routines on my boards just in case I am feeling ambitious.
So tell me, do you do any of the exercises you pin on Pinterest or is it a colossal waste of time? Inquiring minds want to know?
Lacey@fairytalesandfitness says
Congrats on doing all those workouts on Pintrest. I don’t have any so maybe i should pin some of these.
Deborah Brooks says
It was fun to do something different and challenging.
Jennifere says
Great post! There are so many things I pin that I never get to! I haven’t even pinned many workouts knowing how backlogged I am with cooking and crafts haha 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
Ha I think we all get a little ambitious pinning so many things. I am so never going to make any of the crafts that I pin
Susie @ SuzLyfe says
As always #badass status #tipofthehat
Deborah Brooks says
Ha thanks! I love Pinterest and I get a little carried away some days!
Pam and Christine says
I have kind of a set routine, so I have never pinned workouts. However, I am super impressed that you actually did 2 hours of hardcore workouts. Nice job!
Deborah Brooks says
It just kind of happened! I was in the zone
Mary Beth Jackson says
OMG! WEll I know you didn’t find anything like that on my Pinterest board! Could you get up the next morning? I’m not sure I could pull a shirt over my head or brush my hair. You are a bad ass!
Deborah Brooks says
Ha ha! It just kind of happened. I was looking for motivation and found it
Annmarie says
Oooh! That med ball workout looks fun- pinning it 😀 😀
Deborah Brooks says
That was one of the best ones. I will be doing it again
Chaitali says
Wow, that’s awesome that you did all of these in a row! I’m definitely guilty of pinning things that I forget to go back and use. Though they’re often tips on form or things like that which I try to keep in mind when doing my regular workouts.
Deborah Brooks says
oh I pin those as well! It’s addictive on there 🙂
Heather @ FITaspire says
You are CRAZY girl – phew! I’m tired just reading this, but so much fun!! 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
It was fun! Thanks what else to do with all those pins!
Nicole @ Fitful Focus says
How fun! I did a bunch of new-to-me workouts over the Thanksgiving break, as well. I did one of my Mom’s old 80s workout dvds (ha!), a tabata workout, and a workout I like to put together using a deck of cards. It was fun to do some new stuff 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
It is fun to do something new once in a while and use different muscles. I remember those old videos!
Erica G says
That sounds like a fun and intense day. You could repeat another day for another great workout! Great job!
Deborah Brooks says
I think I will do it again with different workouts next time. Always fun to do something new!
HoHo Runs says
I have to say I have not pinned any workouts. I’m so bad about just running, except in summer when I slalom waterski. It would probably help me to do something else! 2 hours…girl YOU ROCK.
Deborah Brooks says
ooh waterskiing! haven’t done that in like 20 years. I used to love it as a kid.
Sharon says
Nice!! Great job on doing all those workouts from Pinterest! I have done a few yoga poses after running that I have Pinned on Pinterest so it’s not a total waste of time. 😉
Deborah Brooks says
Ha ha I can get very lost on there sometimes for hours
Mary says
I am guilty. I have never tried those workouts but have thought about it many times. Maybe this post will start a revolution of woman everywhere! I love the moves in the medicine ball workout. I do some of those on my own and love it!
Deborah Brooks says
Ha I think many of us are. The medicine ball workout was great and I will be doing that one again
RFC says
I love that you did all of them 🙂 I usually try out the workouts I pin or at least use them for ideas to come up with my own workout. What I NEVER do is actually COOK the food/recipe pins I save. That should be my next challenge…cook all of the pins 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
ha ha yes! Cooking all the pins could be very dangerous but I’ve found I do use a lot of the recipes and it is a great way to keep them organized.
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
I just recently joined Pinterest and I’m SO hooked on it! Good job doing all those workouts, phew! I am that way with healthy recipes…I’ve pinned so many that I haven’t even attempted yet! Good idea to actually take the plunge!
Deborah Brooks says
I know it can get overwhelming! I use lots of the recipes and find it’s a great way to keep them organized 🙂
Sue @ This Mama Runs for Cupcakes says
Ha definitely guilty of pinning a million workouts and never doing them. I can’t believe you did them back to back!

Deborah Brooks says
It’s crazy how much you can pin on there! It was lots of fun to do
Janice- The Fitness Cheerleader says
Good on ya! I’ve done a few of them and found they were much more challenging than they look.
Deborah Brooks says
Some of them are! I was thinking this was something you might do when I read your post today.
Blog Wobble says

Way to kick some serious butt! I love that you did them all back to back. Way to get it! I usually do my personal workouts (when I’m not teaching) at home, so I really do use a lot of the ideas I get from Pinterest. I will totally admit that I pin more than I do, but I have found some of my favorite workouts on there.
Deborah Brooks says
I think I’ve found some of my favorites too! It’s always fun to do something new and challenging too
MCM Mama says
I love pinterest for quick workouts. If I just have 15-20 minutes, pinterest rocks. I can’t imagine doing more than one, but in all honesty, if I have more than a half hour for a workout, I’m going to run.
Deborah Brooks says
I needed something to do on a non running day. I love to cross train as well. It’s fun to do something new and I love a challenge
Debbie @ Live from La Quinta says
Nice job on the workouts! Honestly, I’ve NEVER done a single workout that I’ve pinned (except mine 🙂 ). Maybe I ought to do something about that.
Deborah Brooks says
LOL I think most of us are guilty of that!
Coco says
I’ve pinned way to many workouts! But picking one randomly would be a fun idea!
Deborah Brooks says
It was fun and very challenging 🙂

I am impressed that you did all this! I can’t wait to read tomorrow’s post on how sore you are… ;P
Great job!
Deborah Brooks says

Sandra Laflamme says
That medicine ball core workout looks like a good one! I love that you went ahead and tried to do all of these workouts! So great! Some day I need to jump in and actually try some of my pinned workouts!
Deborah Brooks says
ha I think we all pin stuff and never go back to look at it. It was fun to do.
GiGi Eats says

Deborah Brooks says
I don’t think it’s fully worked yet!
Serena @ Simple Holistic Girl says
Hahaha…this is hilarious! I do pin tons of workout stuff and have only tried a couple, not many of them. Soooo so brave of you to do all of this in one sitting. #wowlinkup
Deborah Brooks says
It was lots of fun and always nice to do something new right?
Laura@ Fit Running Mama says

Deborah Brooks says
Yup it’s great! Thought it was about time I tried them out
Tina muir says
Thanks for recommending (and actually trying) my warm up exercises! I will be interested to hear what you thought of them! I am not surprised you were exhausted after all that! Impressive!
Deborah Brooks says
I like your warm up exercises a lot now I just have to remember to do them!
Kim says
I tend to do bits and pieces of the workouts I pinned. I like this idea though and might pick one day a week to start working my way through my pinterest board!!!
Deborah Brooks says
That’s a great idea! It’s nice to keep it fresh. Thanks for stopping by!
Courtney @ Running For Cupcakes says
I normally do the workouts I pin once and then never look at them again. In theory they’re great!
Deborah Brooks says
Agreed! In theory they are great. I had lots of fun looking through them and doing this. I may make it a regular thing
Jezz Dallas says
Wow, this is great!!! You really out some effort into this!

Deborah Brooks says
It was lots of fun and hard work. It’s fun to mix it up 🙂

Deborah Brooks says
ha ha so funny! And I want to be you so I have endless amounts of time to make videos and post like crazy and workout. You must never sleep!

Thanks! It was fun to go back and do them. I keep pinning as well and forgot what was there.
Lauren @ ihadabiglunch says
