If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

Today we are celebrating my dad’s 80th birthday. He is not the party type so we opted to do a family BBQ and hang out at their pool. Should be a really fun time with the whole family. Great weather, good food and pool time. I will be bringing my Lentil Tabouleh salad for dinner. Do you ever think about what it will be like to be in your 80’s?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I am still hating to run in this heat but I think I am starting to adapt a bit. It’s been pretty brutal out there the last few weeks and has caused me to get up a lot earlier than I like to beat the heat. We have a cold front that came in last night with some storms and when I saw the forecast for today, it sure brought a smile to my face. It’s only for the weekend but hey I will take it.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

The hubs and I just booked our first empty nester trip! At the end of August, we are going to go on an Alaska cruise without the kiddos. I am really excited about all the fantastic activities they have on board. Perhaps that will distract me from the fact that both my babies are off at college. Will share more on our vacation plans next month. I am already dreaming about running in cooler temps.

I could not be more excited to meet up with some of my favorite blogger friends in Chicago in 2 weeks. I talk with  most of them almost each day on line but have never met any of them in person. Should be epic! Stay tuned for lots of photos. Oh yeah, and running the Rock n Roll race in Chicago should be a blast.

We did an Alaskan cruise and it was great. If you get a chance, ride the Yukon and white pass railroad. It’s very informative if you like history!

If we were having coffee I would share that I decided against going to Chicago and will be going on vacation instead. Although the 5k and 10k do sound fun!

    Happy birthday to your dad!

that Alaska trip sounds fun! I am struggling in this heat running as well, but we have a little break from the extreme humidity this weekend here.
I was a little off and did my post for this last week, lol, I am all thrown off.

Alaska can get hot, too! They’re in a heat wave right now. But it can also be pretty cool — we did a cruise several years back. It was awesome. Enjoy!

Today was perfection for running, and I’m so glad, because I had 12 miles to do!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      07/07/2018 at 11:53 am

Are you planning a meet up for RnR? I’d love to meet you in real life. I’m planning to run the 1/2 with a friend from high school who’s coming in from PA. We’ll be around Saturday but not planning to do the 5K. Hopefully the weather will be like today. It was in the high 60s w/low humidity today. We agree on the heat/humidity!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      07/07/2018 at 11:56 am

Yes we are planning to meet up there are maybe 7 or 8 of us. Wendy (taking the long way home) is organizing something for Saturday would love to have you join us too.

My inlaws did an Alaskan Cruise and have always said it was incredible 😀
