I had the opportunity to spend last weekend at the Rock Your Sol Yoga Retreat in Rock Hall, Maryland. My friends and I heard about this 2 day yoga retreat experience and thought it would be a fabulous girls weekend getaway. We were right!
Rock Your Sol Yoga Retreat
The Rock Your Sol yoga retreat was sponsored by Angela from Sol Yoga studio out of the Philadelphia area. With the activities beginning on Friday afternoon, we headed out to Rock Hall, Maryland. After our 2 hour drive from the Northern Virginia area, we arrived on the Eastern Shore in Maryland.

This girls weekend could not have come at a more perfect time for me. We originally planned this getaway as the start of my 50th birthday month celebration. I didn’t really want a big party but instead, opted for a bunch of smaller events to celebrate with different groups of friends and family. Unfortunately, I’ve been nursing some hip pain and have been unable to run for the past 10 days. A weekend of yoga would definitely do this body good.
We arrived at Haven Harbor Inn and Marina just in time for our afternoon welcome class. We donned our matching Runner Girl Gang Sweatshirts and headed to class. (use SMDS-BROOKS for 15% off site wide) Our retreat leader was Angela from Sol Yoga and we joined her and 10 other women for yoga class. Angela was very friendly and welcoming with lots of energy.
The first evening there was an informal welcome dinner. We then headed back to our cottage for some champagne and girl chat. We stayed up a little too late for our early wake up. Saturday morning’s schedule had us up bright and early for a 6:45 am sunrise yoga. I am not a fan of such early wake ups especially on vacation. This girl needs her coffee! We dragged ourselves out of bed and into class. Have to say, I was very invigorated afterwards. Even caught the sun rise for a change.

We took advantage of the perfect fall weather and gorgeous natural surroundings by taking a nature walk. The fall leaves and foliage were stunning and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the remote park.
Another afternoon yoga session finished out the afternoon. We caught a gorgeous sunset on the way to dinner. The sunset always seems to look more beautiful over water.
Thankful for the extra hour of sleep from the time change, we felt ready for our 4th yoga class on Sunday morning. Matching yoga tanks on point.
Finished out the weekend with lunch in Annapolis on the way home. This was my first time attending a yoga retreat and doing so much yoga in one weekend. Angela’s classes were for yogis of all levels making us all feel welcome and comfortable. Doing 4 yoga classes in under 48 hours was fantastic for my body. It was fabulous to get away with my besties for a few days. I would definitely go back again next year.
Ever been on a yoga retreat? Do you enjoy practicing yoga?

It sounds like this was an amazing retreat! So glad that you were able to experience it with your friends 🙂
It was a fantastic weekend of relaxing and girl time
I so need this! Sounds wonderful. Namaste!
I really needed it too! Perfect timing
What fun!!! I’m not super disciplined with yoga. I do it, but not as often as I should. A retreat like this world definitely recharge my “namaste” 🙂 Glad you had a great time!
I am not as regimented w it as I could be.I always feel so much better after a class
I think I need a weekend away like this!! In this season of raising all these kids I am feeling a bit burnt out and too much ‘mommy’ lol Those sweatshirts are too cute!!! I would love to gift those to my girlfriends here!
All moms need a weekend like this at some point! The sweatshirts are amazing. Check out the link I posted to them and use my discount code. Your friends will love them too
Obviously I do a lot of yoga these days. 🙂 I love it, it’s just a matter of actually finding the time lately! That sounds like a fantastic weekend & so glad you had a great time & such good weather. Sounds like a great way to celebrate your birthday!
It was a fantastic way to spend a weekend with the girls and a great kick off for my birthday month
This really does sound like a lot of fun. I hope your issue is resolving ‘
thanks it is better than last week but not better. Still not able to run yet. Crossing fingers I can run on my birthday next week
Love this!!!!!!! Grateful to have met you ladies!!!!!
WE really had a fantastic weekend out there. A perfect venue and a very relaxing time thanks again
Looks like a perfect getaway! This post is motivating me to give yoga another go! I have a very stiff left knee due to arthritis, and it makes it so difficult even to do some of the easier yoga poses!
It was a fantastic weekend. I think yoga is also about finding what works for you and it’s ok to adapt it to fit your needs. There are many poses I am just too stiff to get into so I do something else.
Wow, this sounds like so much fun! Sorry to hear you are having hip issues. It sounds like a yoga retreat was just what the doctor ordered!
Yes the yoga was super helpful in getting some great stretching in
This retreat sounds like an amazing way to kick off your birthday month! I have a healthy lifestyle retreat like this on my bucket list. Happy early 50th!!
Thanks! I hope you have the chance to do a weekend like this with your friends as well
Sounds like fun! Your matching shirts are so cute.
Thanks so much it was a good time
Brilliant – I do like all your matching outfits, too. Sounds like just the right amount of yoga for the weekend. I’ve never done yoga pre-breakfast but I’d like to.
It was as tough wake up for sure!
I’ve never been on a yoga retreat – or a retreat of any kind for that matter – but my wife has and she loves everything about it. It’s a great way to unwind and get back to what matters. Glad you enjoyed yours!
I agree and yes we did thanks
This is so cool. I would love to go. Especially fun with friends.
I do think you would love something like this!

It was very relaxing. Hope you have the chance to attend something like this too
This reminds me of the Woodloch Lodge that I went to this past Spring! Excepts for only Yoga classes, you had your choice of many fitness classes throughout the weekend. I actually like these sort of weekend trips. They are usually low key and I love when the meals are included too. I may have to check this one out.
Happy birthday month! -M
Fitness weekends are always fabulous. This one was very low key
What a great sunset
I love the Runner Girl Gang shirts. Those might need to happen.
Glad you had an amazing time
I know they are so cute!
