Staying on top of summer hydration needs is not always easy. Exercising out in the heat and humidity can definitely take a toll and can leave many of us feeling dehydrated. It’s hard to know how much to drink and when. While we all have different needs, there are a few easy ways to give yourself a boost. I received samples of Science in Sport hydro tabs to review as part of being a bibrave pro. Learn more about becoming a bibrave pro here.

    • Why choose SIS Hydro tablets?
      • “During moderate to intense exercise, we can produce up to 2 liters of sweat per hour depending on the environmental conditions. Sweat contains vital electrolytes, including sodium. Sodium is the most important electrolyte as it helps to stimulate thirst, improve taste and promote absorption and retention.
      • If fluid and electrolyte losses are not replaced, dehydration occurs which is a major cause of fatigue. Once dehydrated, our body temperature rises; our heart rate increases; we deplete carbohydrate stores quicker and we perceive the exercise to be more intense. SiS GO Hydro can help prevent this, with the aim not to lose more than 2% of our body mass.” (source)

Easy ways to stay on top of summer hydration

Not surprisingly, some of summer’s most delicious produce has very high water content. Snacking on watermelon post workout is a fabulous choice. It’s known for helping to reduce blood pressure and being high in magnesium and potassium.

Cucumbers are low in calories, high in potassium and vitamin C and they are 95% water. Dip them in hummus for a healthy snack or add them to your favorite salads. [you might like Kale Tabouleh salad]

Tomatoes – I can’t get enough of the juicy, sweet summer tomatoes. Easily add them to salads or sauces or just eat them plain. Better yet, roast them with a little garlic and olive oil for a fantastic bruschetta topping. {Yellow tomato and corn gazpacho]

Frozen treats are the cool kids way to go. Freezing fresh fruit or your favorite hydration product into a popsicle can help to cool you down quickly on a hot summer day.

I was sent the new SIS Hyrdo tablets to review as from Bibrave. I am one who struggles with the humidity every summer. Therefore, I am always looking for new ways to keep hydrated while running and cycling outdoors.

These are non-fizzy? You totally convinced to me to give these a try 😉 That’s my main issue with NUUN, I just don’t like the fizzy-ness of it.

They fizz when you drop them in and then not fizzy. I also prefer them that way

I LOVE a nice, cold slice of watermelon right after a run. It is my favorite way to rehydrate. I can remember getting popsicles after some races (the Cleveland and Portland marathons come to mind), and they were welcome treats – cold and sweet taste so good after a long run. Thanks for sharing the link to the tabouleh salad. It looks delicious.

Thanks it is one of my fave salads that I make all the time. Yes cold watermelon is just the best on a hot summer day

I am a big fan of their gels for long runs but haven’t tried the hydration tablets. The pineapple mango flavor sounds good!

I love watermelon smoothies. We’ve been going through a melon a week — so reshreshing after a hot ride. I have a stash of Nuun to get through, but SIS sounds worth trying — strawberry lime sounds like a favorite.

My son eats those “personal” watermelons all in one sitting!

    I’m a huge fan of watermelon post-run.

I trained with SIS gels for my marathon last year but haven’t tried their tabs. I like that they are not fizzy.

I really like that feature of them as well
