Thanks for joining Coco and me for the Ultimate Coffee Date today. These are always some of my favorite posts to read and to write. I have lots to tell you today. Grab you mug and join me to catch up.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…Today starts my kick off of my month of birthday celebrations. While my big 5-0 is not for 2 more weeks, I decided that a big birthday milestone deserved to be celebrated more than once. I mean any excuse for lots of cake and champagne. Don’t you agree? I decided that I really did not want a huge birthday party and instead planned a few smaller events. I have also put in a request for some nice jewelry from the hubs. I swear I just turned 40 not too long ago!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…My celebration month begins today! I heading out for a yoga retreat with a few of my besties for the weekend. We are on our way for a Girls’ Weekend on Maryland’s Eastern shore for a few days of yoga, champagne and who knows what else. We are equipped with our matching yoga tanks and we are ready to namasté all day. Follow along with our weekend activities on my Instastories. You are following me on IG right?
I am looking forward to sharing all the details of our yoga retreat next week. I think it’s just what I need right now. Tell me-do you tell your spouse exactly what you would like for your birthday or let them pick out something for you? Have you ever been on a yoga retreat? Thanks for catching up with me over coffee. Your turn! If we were having coffee today, what would you tell me?

A yoga retreat sounds like so much fun! When I turned 50, I didn’t want a party. I really struggled with turning 50! So the sister trip was born. It turned into a great tradition. Have so much fun celebrating!
Deborah Brooks says
Struggling with it a bit myself already!

Happy Birthday month! Have so much fun on the yoga getaway. Sometimes I tell my hubby exactly what I “need” and sometimes I don’t. Truth be told, he’s had a few duds but mostly he does pretty well.
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks excited for the weekend. I am pretty sure my hubs got the messages loud and clear on the gift this time! 🙂
Kimberly Hatting says
OHHHHHH, the yoga retreat sounds fun, especially with all your gal pals. Enjoy!! My hubby is hit/miss with the gifts LOL

Have a blast & happy birthday! I would love to be joining you. 😊
Seriously, most of the time, we don’t even exchange gifts. We’re more likely to travel.
Deborah Brooks says
I wish you were joining us! Will tell you all about it next week. We don’t normally do big gifts but since it’s a big bday, I think it deserves something special
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Happy birthday month, birthday buddy! Yes, I’m usually very specific with what I tell my hubby I want for my birthday. He surprised me, though, last year with a Garmin for my bike and several years ago with my first GoPro.
Have a great weekend away with your besties!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes happy birthday month to you too birthday buddy!
Erica @ Erica Finds says
Happy Birthday month!! You deserve all the fun. I can’t wait to follow along. I’ll be 48 next month and I seriously just turned 40, too!
Deborah Brooks says
I know how does it go by so fast!?
Angie @ Bee Well says
OMG, you are a girl after my own heart! I love that you are epically celebrating the big 5-0. I did that when I turned 40. So much fun! Thank you so much for inviting to your link-up! Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for stopping by to join us!

I think celebrating the big birthday in smaller settings is a great idea! Big parties are fun but it’s hard to feel like you really connected with everyone that attends. Enjoy party number 1 this weekend!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes exactly! Thanks
Laurie says
You have a MONTH of birthday celebrations? Awesome! 50 is nothing! You are still practically a baby and you look great, so fit. Happy birthday month!
Deborah Brooks says
Well not really a full month of celebration but a few smaller things. Thanks!
Cari says
Happy birthday to US. Have a great weekend with your friends.

Happy birthday. Gee 50 seems so long ago.
That retreat seems a perfect way to celebrate.
I love going away with girlfriends. My running group is trying to plan a fall race cation

Happy birthday celebration season! I do tell my husband what I want to do. Mind you, one year (when I was about to turn 35 or something) I said before Christmas I wanted to start arranging my birthday get-together (it’s in late Jan and people genuinely like to have something to look forward to and do ask) and he said that really after 30 birthday do’s are not necessary. I was SO UPSET. And then he relented and organised a trip out and to gather some friends and what happened? I was ill on the day and missed it. So there’s a message for me there …
Deborah Brooks says
Ha the irony!
Farrah says
Happy early birthday! I hope you have fun at the yoga retreat! I’ve never been on one but it sounds like it’ll be a good time!
Deborah Brooks says
We really had fun thanks !
Renée says
oh my gosh your weekend retreat sounds amazing!! i hope you are having the best time! We don’t celebrate much over here but big birthdays for sure get celebrated! We usually always go somewhere. For Ron’s 50th I took him to Napoli, then for mine he took me to Palermo! We do love Italy though. He’s already decided what he wants for his birthday in January, so we are booked for a weekend in Paris so that we can go to the special DaVinci exhibition at the Louvre. What he doesn’t know is that I’ve found a really amazing/funky boutique hotel and I’m planning on asking them to arrange to chilled bubbles for when we arrive 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
Well it sounds like you celebrate plenty! I am sure he will love the surprises you have picked out for him
