Jumping in for another edition of the Weekly Wrap. It seemed like summer was never going to end around here but finally it did. Thursday night we went to bed in summer and woke up Friday to fall. Hello Fall! I have been waiting for you.
Weekly Wrap Hello Fall It’s about time
Here is a quick recap of how my week of workouts went down.
Sunday-Vinyasa yoga
Loving vinyasa yoga the day after a long run. Perfect way to end the weekend and I found a little friend.
Monday- 60 min strength training and 3 mile walk
A running friend and I have been adding in some hilly walks on our non run days. I am really enjoying them especially now that it’s fall. In case you missed my Chopped Thai Tempeh Edamame salad with curried peanut dressing. You can find it here.
Tuesday- 4 mile run
It was still summer and this was a super sweaty one!
Wednesday- 90 min strength training and boxing
Thursday- hot yoga sculpt class 60 min
Woke up to a thunder storm so our run was cancelled. Rolled back over and went to sleep for an hour before heading out to a Yoga Sculpt class. It had been a while since I did this particular combo class. The blend of the heated yoga and the sculpt was a killer-in a good way!
Friday-Vinyasa yoga 60 min
Yes, my third yoga class this week! Well hello fall- it was great to finally wake up to cooler temps. Our Ragnar Napa race is coming up in just 3 weeks! I hosted our team meeting Friday night at our house. This is getting real! My team mates:
Saturday- 8 mile run
Continuing to use my run/walk intervals and my running crew was kind enough to stick with me. The 8 miles flew by and I was feeling pretty good! The amazing fall temps were a breath of fresh air literally. Running in cooler temps just automatically feels so much easier.
Maureen @ Maureen Gets Real says
Fall finally got here on Friday too! It made running feel infinitely easier on Saturday.
Deborah Brooks says
It sure did for me too! I love it

Looks like you had a great week! I couldn’t believe how much easier my Saturday morning run felt with the cooler weather. It was truly a breath of fresh air! 😉
Deborah Brooks says

Well, I finally went to yoga ^once^ this week. It’s amazing how much harder it is for me to go on Thursday morning instead of Friday morning, even putting aside work trips. This weather is great!
Deborah Brooks says
I am loving being back at yoga more. I am always so much happier when I go. Yes the weather is sure a breath of fresh air just when I needed it
Wendy says
Looks like a good week with friends! I love your posse and how you guys all run together. You’re going to have a great time at Ragnar!

I can’t believe it’s almost time for our trip to California. Seems like we have been planning it forever!

Nice variety of workouts this week! I love that you are adding in some hilly walks to your routine too.

I am really enjoying the hilly walks. I hope I can get 2 in this week
Cari says
I love your staircase!
Misread your Monday as 60 mile walk. Still impressive, but glad I reread.
Deborah Brooks says
ha ha that would be impressive 🙂

Deborah Brooks says
Oh thanks friend!

Well, fall has practically skipped over Iowa. All we’ve had are cold temps and rain. Oh, and there was snow on Friday, but I was in NC so I didn’t have to “experience” that yet. UGH. I much prefer summer LOL
Deborah Brooks says
I know you are a summer lover! Fall will settle in
Lesley says
We met fall and moved into winter last week. Now we’re meeting up with fall again this week. It’s making me want to get out and run, and I’m in the middle of recovery! October is such a great month in general.
Deborah Brooks says
October is usually one of my favorite running months. We are finally in fall and I love it
Hannah says
We got our first taste of winter this weekend – but fall has already returned!
Deborah Brooks says
Fall is here to stay I hope!
Allie says
Sounds like a great week! The more yoga, the better.
I did one Ragnar and I would really like to do another with a different group. Love that you had a team meeting and are getting down to details 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
Yes having the right group of friends on your ragnar team is key to the fun

Fall has made an appearance here too, although I’m afraid it’s just a tease and will be gone in no time. Love all of your yoga pics!
Deborah Brooks says
I hope fall sticks around for both of us! Enjoy it while you can
HoHo Runs says
I didn’t realize Ragnar Napa was so close. You will have so much fun with your team! I adore your Came To Sweat tank and I’m glad you finally got some Fall weather to get outside and play in. We had just a tiny touch of it and hope to get more later this week. Thanks for linking!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes Ragnar sure is coming up so quickly! I am really exciting

Minneapolis skipped right over fall and had SNOW on my birthday (10/14) though I was in Copenhagen and missed it- they are having an unseasonably WARM fall. Crazy.
So jealous how much yoga you fit it! I need to follow your lead.
Great week, great mix of workouts!
Deborah Brooks says
I know it was so hot here in DC too until just a few days ago. Happy birthday!
