February is usually the coldest and darkest month around here. This year, we had a much warmer month with some tastes of spring. We never did get any measurable snow at all this year. All of this made for near perfect training days all month long. I am joining in on the Weekly Wrap with Hoho and Wendy to recap my training week and say Goodbye February.
Weekly Wrap Goodbye February
I had a pretty solid training week and hit all of my “mini goals” I set. Continuing to build up my mileage slowly for the Cherry Blossom Ten Miler is helping to keep me injury free so far.
Sunday- long run day 7.25 miles
After a wet snow the day before, we woke up to near perfect running temps and beautiful views.
Monday- 20 min elliptical + 60 min strength training
Tuesday-4 mile run + 60 minute yoga
Started a bit fast and legs were feeling tired by the end. Huge group out today!
Wednesday- 30 min elliptical + 90 min strength training and kickboxing
Perfect post workout stretch!
Thursday- 4.25 mile run
Still enjoying our warmer temps and having a little fun of course. No yoga today because I got my hair done.
Friday- swim class 2500 meters
Super proud of myself for making it back to swim class and swimming one of my longest swims ever. We usually do about 1600 m so this was significantly longer. Running on fumes the last few laps for sure but I got it done.
I hit my own mini goals this week of getting to yoga and back to swim class. Will be tackling my long run today. Goodbye February and Hello March. Hope you will pop in tomorrow for Meatless Monday. I will be sharing my Spaghetti Squash Mac and Cheese Bake.
Linking up today with Hoho and Wendy for Weekly Wrap
2500m in swimming…wow!! That’s amazing.
Thanks I don’t know how that happened!
Looks like a great week! This month was definitely warmer than usual but I remember having a few days of spring weather last February too. I hope that March continues to bring warmer temps- I’ve heard it could get cold and snowy again.
I am kind of hoping we have at least one big snow this year.
Congrats on a solid week of training and hitting all of your mini goals!
Looking forward to that spaghetti squash mac n cheese back recipe 🙂
Thanks I am proud of my effort this week!
Such a good week for you! It’s crazy how you went from wearing a jacket to wearing a tank. Gotta love spring!
What a solid week but a lot of variety.
Good job getting it all done.
It is raining here all day.
Yes I did pack in a lot this week. It’s raining pretty hard here today too
What a great week! You did not have any measurable snow in Feb? Gosh, it was a mess in Iowa (after a nearly snow-less January). I’m glad to see a new month on the horizon and am ready for spring to officially arrive.
Nope no snow at all the whole season. When it was really cold we had no precip at all. I am hoping for at least one snow day to play in.
It looks like you had wonderful weather to enjoy on your runs this week. I love the flipper pic of you in the pool! Great job on that swim distance, too. Thanks for linking!
Thanks! Have a great week
Wow, an actual swim class?! That would be right up my alley!!
Sounds like you had a really great week! I’ve got my fingers crossed for nice temps at Cherry Blossom!
yes I take a master swim class at the gym. It’s been really helpful with refining my stroke and giving me more confidence in tri races
By Thursday we had snow . . . it’s all melted again . . .
Yay for getting back in the pool! Haven’t been in months, but luckily I’m not triing. 🙂
I really love swimming I just have a hard time getting there in the winter
You are killing it with your workouts! You will be in such great shape for Cherry Blossom. Ohh….I need to come back tomorrow and check out that recipe. The spaghetti squashes looked so good at the store but I already had meals planned….and that wasn’t on the list.
I love to play around with spaghetti squash it’s so versatile. And thanks I am feeling good about mixing up my training right now and on track for cherry Blossom
I am ready for March. I hope the temps are at least better. We got quite a bit of snow this month, and March brings more. I at least hope the temps will be warmer and I can get outside.
We have not had any real snow this year at all! I am hoping for at least one storm still
That stretch on the exercise ball looks wooooonderful! Great week! I will be sure to check out your Meatless Monday post
It is a fabulous stretch try it out and let me know what you think!
I’ve been enjoying the warm weather too this week! I hope it sticks around but if last year is any indication, we will have one or two more “winter” like days in March!
You always looks like you are having so much fun with your runner friends!
I would really love just one snow day! And yes I am very lucky to have my run squad
WOW that’s a long swim!
I know! I don’t know how that happened 🙂
I was so bummed to miss the warm weather – and it was COLD in San Diego when I was there. #nofair!
You are knocking out your goals and killing your training.
Slow and steady wins the race right?!
What a solid week! As for that 2500m swimming class – I am in awe! Well done!
Yes not quite sure how I made it through that one!
I want to be a swimmer, but I haven’t mastered the swim cap (save the hair color) thing yet! Maybe I should just embrace my grays 😉
Love how big your running group is! I miss running with my MRTT/SRTT group in New Hampshire.
I color my hair (I know shocker) so I put conditioner on under my cap kind of protects it a bit. I love my MRTT group too!
Great job with your workouts, you really have a great mix of activities! Indeed, February turned out to be not so bad weather-wise, thank goodness! Glad Cherry Blossom training is going well!
thanks me too!
