It’s once again time for the Weekly Wrap! Loving that I have a great training log each week of all my fitness and fun activities to look back on. I also love to take a peek into my fellow bloggers’ training week for instant motivation. Joining in with Hoho, Wendy and the Weekly Wrap crew for this week’s February Thaw.
February Thaw
While much of the Mid West was still in the thick of winter weather this week, we somehow had an unusually mild week here in the DC area. Not complaining at all! It was glorious to have such perfect running temps all week and a much appreciated February Thaw.
Sunday- Boxing class at Title Nine
Our local Sweat Pink chapter is starting to have monthly meet ups at different studios and I was fortunate enough to be able to make this one at Title Nine. Since I do some kickboxing weekly already, I felt pretty comfortable with the class. It was challenging and the instructor was really just insane! He had us all punch him in the stomach it was crazy check it out here
Lots of fun though!
Monday- 30 min elliptical + 60 min strength training
Tuesday- 4.5 mile run + 60 min Ashtanga yoga
Valentine’s run with my crew
Wednesday- 90 min strength training and kick boxing.
Focus on arms today and boy do I always feel those triceps after this move. In a good way! Had a quiet dinner at home with the hubs and rewarded myself with yummy cookies.
Thursday- 5 mile run + 60 min yoga stretch class
Yup our temps were well into the 60’s today. It was kind of odd but welcome not to have to bundle up. February Thaw!
Friday- spin class
I had zero energy today for class. I knew I had not taken a rest day at all in over 2 weeks and it finally caught up with me. I skipped my swim class.
Saturday-Rest Day!
Finally took a much needed rest day today. I have such a hard time with rest days. So-treated myself to a pedicure and it was fabulous. I definitely have runner feet that needed attention.
Tomorrow on Meatless Monday I will be sharing my favorite way to hide veggies in a delicious Marinara Sauce.
And that’s my Weekly Wrap February Thaw! Tell me -Do you get regular pedicures? Do you have scary runner feet?
Have a Cherry Blossom 10 miler training recap to share? See here

I was alo thankful for the mild weather last week where I live. I’ve been in Cleveland since Friday and it’s freezing here lol.
That boxing class looked like a lot of fun!
Deborah Brooks says
I don’t think I could live in the Midwest too cold!
Maureen @ Maureen Gets Real says
Both last week and this upcoming week are supposed to be pretty mild. Well except for the few inches of snow we got last night that is currently melting outside. It’s going to be 70 degrees near me this week. Crazy!!
I would’ve been so nervous to punch the instructor. Good for you!
Deborah Brooks says
We have the same crazy weather! I was nervous about punching him but he insisted!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
Yes I definitely have runners feet and need pedicures! I have one toenail that is always messed up so I like to keep it covered in dark polish. The warmer weather was so nice last week!
Deborah Brooks says
I have one toe nail with a situation as well. It always looks way better with polish on
Wendy says
My feet are very scary this winter! I normally do a monthly pedicure but haven’t had the inclination this year. I think it’s because I”m not going to the yoga studio, so I’m not paying attention to my feet!
Deborah Brooks says
yes the frequency of my yoga classes gives me a constant reminder on the feet!
fairytales and fitness says
Sounds like you had a pretty full week!
I have a gift certificate for a pedicure that I haven’t used yet. I’m waiting until its open toe shoe weather for more than one week…haha!
Deborah Brooks says
yes great idea!
Jennifer @ Fit Nana says
I like the way my feet look and feel after pedicures but they are so not my favorite thing. haha. I’m ticklish and it’s so hard for me to sit still sometimes! Plus, I broke my left baby toe many years ago and sometimes, the techs don’t listen and they are too aggressive with that toe and then I hurt. 🙁 I’d probably go more frequently if I could guarantee that the tech was going to understand what I was saying. :/ Maybe I need a fancier salon?
Looking forward to that marinara sauce!
Deborah Brooks says
Ha ha maybe just a regular person who knows your feet!!
HoHo Runs says
It’s nuts your instructor wanted to be punched. You’ve been working hard and deserved a rest day! I do get regular pedicures but let my toes “breathe” a couple of months in the winter without polish. Thanks for linking!
Deborah Brooks says
Also probably a good idea re the toes!
Kimberly Hatting says
My feet don’t look too scary considering all the miles they carry me…but they could definitely benefit from some TLC more often. I’m thankful the nail polish withstands hundreds of miles before it needs “patching” LOL
Deborah Brooks says
That’s good! I like it when they get off the callouses I have a lot. Probably more info than you wanted 🙂
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I’ve never had a pedicure, and I don’t do my toenails, either, but my chiropractor once commented I had nice feet for a runner. I know I have a couple of funky toe nails so I was surprised.
I bet that rest day felt really good!
Deborah Brooks says
Well feet compliments are always welcome! It sure did feel amazing
Sara says
Great job with your workouts! You get so much accomplished each week! I need to get Pedi’s more often that I do.
Deborah Brooks says
thanks I really like to mix it up!
Coco says
The weather this week was crazy – Thursday was amazing and then snow yesterday?? I did go for a run Thursday, but had to start early while it wasn’t that balmy yet! Boxing looks like fun!
Deborah Brooks says
It has been crazy! Boxing was really fun
Catherine says
Ok, so I just barely started getting semi-regular manicures but I feel weird about getting pedicures because my feet are legitimately disgusting due to running. I feel like no one deserves to have to touch them and also what’s the point since I’m just going to muck them up again with running less than 24 hours later. Am I crazy? Do you think pedicures are worth it when you’re training?
Deborah Brooks says
I personally like to get pedicures every 4-6 weeks bc I get a lot of callouses and also if my toe nails get too long they rub against my shoes. I figure there are people out there with worse feet
Marcia says
That gut punching is nuts! Hooray for a much-needed rest day. They weren’t kidding when they said this El Nina pattern would make our weather go all over the place.
Deborah Brooks says
The guy was totally insane! It was lots of fun though
Lesley says
I have runners feet too, and I don’t get pedicures that often. My feet hurt a little bit when my calluses grow back, so I don’t treat my feet until I’m ready to take a break.
Deborah Brooks says
My toe nails get too long and the callouses will rub on my shoes if I don’t get pedicures. I try to go every 4-6 weeks.
Caralyn @ BeautyBeyondBones says
yay for pedicure rest days! Hugs and love xox
Deborah Brooks says
right back at you!
Kim W. says
Pedicures are the best! Fabulous rest day activity.
Deborah Brooks says
Well I completely agree! Have a great week
Clarinda says
That video is hilarious! Wow! I went out for pedicures with my sister and niece when I was back home in January. It was so much fun! I haven’t gotten them done in forever.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes a pedi is always a nice treat!
Shathiso says
Love your smile when you were having that pedicure done!! Well deserved after 2 weeks with no proper rest days!
Deborah Brooks says
Oh it was nice indeed!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
Nice week! I’d be too scared to punch him, even though he probably wouldn’t feel it! The warmer weather has been great, I just wish we didn’t have so much rain!
Deborah Brooks says
I don’t think he felt a thing!
