Thanks for joining Kim and me for the Weekly Run Down today. Who would have thought completing all these virtual races would be so motivating? Yet, here I am virtually running into May. Here’s how my week went down.
Running Into May
Monday- HIIT cycle class + Strength training + 1.5 m afternoon walk
HIITing it hard this Monday. Checking out some new cycle classes and workouts. Getting in an afternoon walk after the stress of visiting the grocery store was just what I needed.
Tuesday-3.5 mile run + 1.5 mile walk + yoga/stretch class
Uncanceled 5K run check √ A slightly drizzly run felt good on this warmish day. Ran by the elementary school and noticed this mural for the first time.
Wednesday- Peloton cycle + arms/shoulder + core + 2 mile afternoon walk
I am enjoying the cycle classes followed by the strength training. The rain cleared and I had a nice 2 mile afternoon walk.
Thursday-Boot Camp + low impact cycle class
Torrential rain and flooding kept me in. Can’t believe I waited so long to try a bootcamp class. As someone who dreads the treadmill, it was a great way to break up the miles. I loved it and hated it at the same time. Of course, I cannot wait to do it again!
Friday-HIIt cycle + core + chest/back ST + 2.5 mile walk
My legs were a little sore from the bootcamp class but I did not want to miss a new live cycle class. Another afternoon walk.
Saturday- 5 mile run + yoga/stretch
My legs were so heavy today after so much strength this week. Took a few walk breaks and then “ran” into my friend. Literally the highlight of my week. Completed the uncanceled project 8K.
Looks like I will be continuing virtually running into May! I feel like I alternate between exercising and eating all day long. But it’s keeping me busy! Thanks for linking up!
Catrina says
Well done on all the classes and virtual runs! I love that picture with you in front of the mural. Matching colours!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks it was a happy accident!
Wendy says
You’ve been hitting it hard lately! I’m sure it’s paying off, though. I am so sorry I missed the zoom chat yesterday–my oldest came over. It had been a month since we last saw him and it was nice to catch up. I’ll be there next time! Thanks for arranging these.
Deborah Brooks says
We missed you! Next time for sure.
Darlene S Cardillo says
Aren’t the un-canceled races great? Not that I’m racing them but still some extra mojo between the eating and sitting.
I am really missing my runs with friends. Doesn’t look like it will end soon. My friends are still running solo. Many have even stopped running. I do have one friend that will walk with me twice a week.
Great to see you yesterday. Highlight of my day!
Deborah Brooks says
Highlight of my week as well! I am loving our Zoom chats. I do like the uncanceled runs too just to motivate me. Definitely not racing them but fun to do!
Kimberly Hatting says
Intense week!! Hurts so good, right? Keep up the consistently. Maybe we can walk & talk this week:-)
Deborah Brooks says
Intense indeed but keeps me busy! Yes would love a walk chat this week
Kim G says
So happy that you liked the bootcamp class! I agree that it’s a great way to break up the running on the treadmill.
Deborah Brooks says
I know I really find them challenging and fun
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
Love the “run for your life” shirt. Your weather looks gorgeous. I got to run in shorts a few times this week and it was a welcome change. In theory my state is open now but the reality is social distancing/shelter in place is still in effect while a few areas of the economy roll out two weeks at a time.
Deborah Brooks says
We did have lots of rain but also lots of nice days. Have to take advantage of them when they pop up
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
You are definitely keeping busy! I signed up for the Peloton app but since it was mostly a rest week for me, I haven’t tried it yet. Good thing I signed up ;while it was still 3 months free! I’ll have to try to keep the bootcamps in mind.Luckily haven’t been on the mill in a long time.
Thanks again for the Zoom call! Your pool looked amazing.
Deborah Brooks says
I am trying to keep busy! Have to do something in between meals 🙂
Liz Dexter says
Lovely to see you yesterday and I had a lovely run today with lots of polite self-distancing from everyone and many smiles. Phew! Good work from you this week and I continue to love your range of workout tops!
Deborah Brooks says
So nice to see you face and see you smile!
Andy says
I’ve done one virtual race and on May 5th I’m running a Cinco DeMayo “QuaranTeam 5K” virtual 5K.
I’m not a fan but at least I can get in a few official running miles.
Andy
Deborah Brooks says
Yes the virtual runs definitely keep us motivated!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Great workouts this week! I must get a bootcamp class on my schedule this week! I need to try it. My treadmill has been neglected now that the weather is nice and I have an elliptical. My trips to the grocery store with my husband have been a bit stressful because he says he can’t understand me when I talk while wearing a mask. So yeah, it’s been challenging trying to just get it done.
Deborah Brooks says
Very challenging indeed! I am working on making my own bootcamp for Wednesday I really like them
Coco says
I really love that mural! I braved a bootcamp class this week too. Reminded my of my favorite OTF format, so I definitely will be doing another one. Thanks for hosting our Zoom coffee chat again!
Deborah Brooks says
I loved the bootcamp and I am working on my own version as well. Great to see everyone on zoom
Melissa says

Jennifer @ Fit Nana says
You always have a solid week of workouts. I wish I had a treadmill for those rainy days. I’m still not sure what the Uncanceled project is – I should probably look that up. haha
Deborah Brooks says
They offered a bunch of virtual races for free the last few weeks. It’s been fun for motivation
Cari says
Oh that’s right, there’s an uncanceled 8K now. I can go grab that from today’s walk. Thanks for the reminder.
So good to see you yesterday. I’m so glad you & Coco had that idea last coffee weekend. It’s so something we all need right now.
Deborah Brooks says

Haha I feel you on the alternating between exercise and eating stuff! I feel like that’s all I’m doing too! I think we will be virtual for a majority of May too at this point.
And I totally get the love/hate with the bootcamps thing. I think they are so tough but they are definitely a good workout! Especially the 60 minute ones!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes I am loving the boot camps and I am working on creating one
Laura says
Great week on all those workouts! You are making the most of being at home. That Bootcamp class sounds fun!
Deborah Brooks says
I sure am trying to!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I love the variety of your workouts! You’re killing it!
I’m so sorry I missed yesterday’s Zoom coffee. Our kids came over for a social distancing barbecue and didn’t leave until 5:30. I checked and you guys had wrapped it up by then. Looking forward to next time!
Deborah Brooks says
I sure am trying to mix it up to keep myself entertained! Yes definitely catch you next time on zoom
Jenn says
I was stupid hungry today, which is rare. I usually don’t want anything, but today was all the snacks. Oh, well.
That mural makes me happy every time I see it. It’s just so sweet.
Great job this week! May is going to be great for you, I know it!
Deborah Brooks says
I am not sure I have even been hungry I just keep eating crappy stuff. I sure hope that May is a lot better for all of us
angela @ happy fit mama says

You’ve been able to stay so consistent with your workouts! I’ve been really struggling with at home classes so I’ve been sticking with running but you’re such a great motivation!

Great week again! Love your energy and motivation. Love your sunny weather too. I’ve been eating way too much at home and I can feel it in my pants. Time to change that.
Deborah Brooks says
I agree it’s hard not snack more these days
