Raise your hand if you think the best part of traveling is sampling the local food and drink? Sitting at an outdoor café, sipping on a glass of wine and snacking on some tapas, people watching. Doesn’t get much better than that. Yes, we all are missing travel this year and the excitement that comes along with exploring new foods and places. What gift do you get that special foodie who misses traveling? I have a few delicious ideas.

Gifts for foodies who miss traveling

When in Rome…

A few weeks ago our family participated in a Zoom Pasta making class together. This was no ordinary cooking class, it was live from Tuscany, Italy. We easily set up our family pasta making class via AirBnB Experiences. Ahead of time, we received our list of ingredients. We gathered remotely from 4 different locations which allowed 3 generations of our family  “be together” while cooking.

Our hostess, Lucrecia, was delightful. We chatted about our shared love of Florence and all things Italian. She was so gracious about helping the grandparents to make sure they were following along with the recipe. At the end of our 90 minute class, we had a delicious bowl of Cavatelli pasta to enjoy with our Italian wine and family. Oh and did I mention, that a live Opera singer popped in to entertain us with her incredible voice?

If you are looking for a unique interactive gift for that foodie in your life, AirBnB Experiences offers fabulous classes showcasing foods from different cultures around the world. The chefs are local and live from the countries they hail from. This is what helps to make the cooking experiences genuine and have that local flair. From Pasta and Opera in Italy to Paella in Spain to pastries in France, there are classes to feed every appetite and travel memories.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.
