Getting up and out for your run or workout can be challenging some days. I feel you. Choosing the right sports bra to give you the comfort and support you need should not be stressful. However, finding the perfect sports bra is no easy task. Not to worry I’ve tried and tested numerous brands for you to come up with this list of the most supportive sports bras for running and at home workouts. (This post contains affiliate links)
The Most Supportive Sports Bras for Running & At Home Workouts
For me, one of the most important factors of a good workout or run is feeling comfortable. I need to feel good from my shoes to my clothes to my bras without having to adjust my straps or worry about chafing. I also want to feel like “the girls” look good as well. In addition, if I am going to invest in a good sports bra, I want it to last. I’ve done my homework and narrowed it down to these top 4 picks.
Athleta Glory 2.0 Bra B-DD
This Athleta Glory 2.0 bra is my go to bra for running and home workouts. It offers high impact support with an underwire that gives a little lift and shape. What I love: medium coverage that looks good under tanks or shirts, adjustable cross back straps, lightly lined cups. This bra holds up well to machine washing. Available in black, white, and light pink.

Brooks Maia
Another favorite that I reach for. This Brooks (Moving Comfort) Maia bra is a traditional style with easy on and off-hook and eye closure. Gel padded straps are adjustable and comfortable on my shoulders. It offers slight minimization while maintaining shape and support. I love it for running, cycling, and at home strength workouts. Available in C-E sizes. Available in multiple colors and patterns. Brooks categorizes it as medium support but I would say high impact support-bounce free running! What do I love? A little bit of a higher neckline allows you to bend over without showing too much cleavage.

Panache Underwire
For larger busted women, the Panache Underwire bra really offers maximum support while still maintaining shape. Lifts and shapes from all sides. Thick padded shoulder straps are comfortable and adjustable and can be converted to a racerback. Serious no bounce sports bra for maximum support and comfort. Available in multiple colors and patterns sizes up to GG.

Athleta advance Bra
A new favorite! Made for high impact workouts and high coverage on the neckline. From the moment I put it on, I felt “locked and loaded” and very supported for my run. No chafing and very comfortable. Sizes available B-DD in multiple colors. Adjustable straps and band.
Washing your sports bras
I suggest washing your sports bras in a lingerie bag in the washing machine and then air dry them. They will keep their shape and elasticity. Replace your sports bras approximately every 6 months.
Nice review, thanks, Deborah! I don’t have any issues with bras other than the shoulder straps “cutting” into the shoulder. Brooks Maia bra with the gel padded straps sounds like a good fix!
I really like the straps on that one! I have to be comfortable or my bra bugs me the whole time
I have a post similar to this one in the draft folder, with a few different bras! My issue is chafing with almost all of them. I have the Brooks Juno, which is highly recommended but the clasp chafes me on both of them. My favorite bra is a Champion model that they don’t make anymore! LOL. I’ll have to give the Athelta one a try. Thanks for the review.
I really like the adjustable straps and bands to prevent chafing. Funny, I have a draft on chafing 🙂
Brooks retired my favorite style sports bra so I’m still looking into my new go to style. Can’t wait to check these out! Thanks Deborah, have a great weekend!
Thanks glad I gave you some ideas to try
Ive been slowly upgrading my sports bras (since some of them are literally from college… which was a decade ago lol) so this list is perfect!
Ooh sounds like someone need to go shopping! 🙂
I’ve heard great things about Athleta but haven’t tried out their sports bras yet! I’ll have to look into it (I’ve been slowlyyyy trying to update my closet–I have some clothes that I’m still wearing from junior high, hahaha)! :] My favorite one right now is Handful! <3
The Athleta bras are great sounds like you are ready for an update
Great info! I’ve heard so many great things about Brooks bras (and I love their shoes, too). I’ve had great luck with Target & Old Navy stuff, so that’s what I’ve been sticking with.
The Brooks bras are solid quality and last a long time
I am not very large on top, so luckily I can get away with most any bra. Most of mine don’t even have hooks & eyes, so I can wash them without the lingerie bag — but I do air dry them.
That’s great that you have found some that you like!
Sports bras are so hard for me! Especially during pregnancy and postpartum. I need to look into these!
There are some great options here that I think would work for you
I’ll pass these recommendations onto my wife, she’s on the hunt for something more comfortable for running.
Thanks so much!
I have been looking for a new running bra! The Athleta Glory sounds like one that would work well for me!!
It’s my go to bra for running and at home workouts. Check it out
