Thanks for joining Coco and me for The October Ultimate Coffee Date. Coming to you live from Corning, New York where I am currently prepping for the Wine Glass Half Marathon Sunday. I am on the run today so I will keep this coffee date a quick one. But please, still feel free to enjoy an extra large coffee.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…
I was not sure I would actually make it here to Corning! With so many races going virtual again these past few weeks, I was not sure it would be a go. But here I am, almost 2 years after signing up for this race. I feel like I had a solid training block and I am feeling good going into race day. I do still have my usual race day anxiety and excitement but very thankful to be here. Let’s do this!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…
I actually had a coffee date on National Coffee Day Wednesday and forgot to take a photo! What kind of coffee lover am I? I would also tell you that I love to find coffee mugs when I travel so I am hoping to come across something fun this weekend. Stay tuned!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…
I did it again. I signed up for another 2022 race. One of my Running BRF’s texted Tuesday to tell me that the Asheville Half Marathon registration was opening up that day and that there were only 800 spots. Of course, I could not risk having FOMO so…someone is going to Asheville in March. I think we have our husbands on board to join in so maybe he will think it was his idea! It is a race that has been on my bucket list for a while. After the last 2 years, I in a frenzy to sign up for things. Someone should seriously stop me.
Thanks for stopping by today! If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?
Ooh, Asheville… I’d do the same. FOMO don’t play nice, right? Hope you have a great time in NY & best of luck with your race!
Thanks KIm!
Oh, exciting on signing up for the Biltmore Half! The full was on my bucket list, but alas, I’m not doing fulls or halves any longer so perhaps I’ll just have to go to Asheville to check out the mansion!
I hope you have a great race this weekend! Have fun!
I hear it is really amazing down there!
My sister and I have Asheville on our sister trip list! We considered it for the fall–the colors would be amazing, but flights were $$$. Maybe next year.
Good luck this weekend! And make sure you use that wineglass! :0
Thanks so much and you bet I will!
Oh you’re going to love Ashville! We stayed at the Biltmore and I had a pedi during a spa day there and they were pretty horrified at my marathon feet at the time. Haha! Have so much fun running Wineglass!
ha ha runner feet are a special kind of feet for sure!
How fun to have Asheville on the calendar!
So happy for you that Wineglass is a go! Have a great race!
Thanks Michelle so excited to be here
Have a great race on Sunday, Deborah!
thanks so much!
I’m so happy for you!
Asheville sounds gorgeous — and possibly hilly! It is a lovely area to spend a weekend. Might need to save some wineries for after the race though. 😉
Can’t wait to hear about Wineglass!
Yes I am excited about Asheville and finally getting to run a half again this weekend
Ashville (which auto correct keeps changing to Nashville lol) keeps popping up on the blogs I read. It seems like a pretty hot tourist destination. A race there will probably be a lot of fun!
Over coffee I’d say I did a 5k trail run last weekend. It was pretty fun but hilly! Oh so hilly! Plus there was no water on the course. I managed to get a bottle though and it improved everything 😀
Trail runs are so much harder! Congrats
Have a great run this weekend! I can’t wait to hear about it. That race is on my bucket list as a former NYer!
Asheville is super hilly so get some big hills in your training plan!
I hope you have a chance to run here as well. It is gorgeous this time of the year
Ooh, good luck this weekend! It sounds like this should be a great race for you- can’t wait to hear all about it.
The Ashville half sounds amazing. It will be a great vacation for the husbands as well! It will be something to look forward to during the cold, dark winter.
Thanks Jenny!
Good luck Sunday and yay on March plans. I feel like I’m always in fast forward to some degree so it didn’t faze me when I signed up for April 2022 when we were maybe halfway through 2021. Especially lately, we need something to look forward to/plan for.
It is always nice to have something to look forward to!
Ashevllle is definitely on my bucket list. I can live vicariously through you. 🙂 Seriously, not at all interested in training through Winter. At least your Winter is a lot less harsh.
Good luck this weekend! When we did Wineglass it was another time I came back with 2 mugs, LOL! And then there’s the mug I use on this post, which is my THIRD NY mug!
Ha yes I hope to come back with a few mugs myself!
Have a great race on Sunday. All the best!!!!!!!
Thanks so much my friend
I’m glad you made it to Corning!
And ah, Asheville. I’d be down for any reason to go back there! 😛 It’s such a fun town! I hope you have fun!
thanks so much! Happy to have finally made it here
Have a great race! How exciting for another race.
Yes it sure is great to be back at in person races again
I can’t wait to read your thoughts! I want to run this one sooooo badly! I hope you had the best time!
we really did! thanks will tell you all about it this week
Yay. Asheville sounds great. I’m always a victim of FOMO.
I know you will enjoy Corning. I hope you have time to explore the vineyards and trails.
We did not have time for the vineyards this time but I plan to hit them up next time. I am definitely going back!
