I love to do this Year in Running review every December. It’s such a fun way to look back on all of the fantastic memories that running has gifted me. It’s hard to narrow them down but I will give it a try. My running shoes had lots of adventures this year!
Braving the snow in January.
First real snow of the season had the crew out and smiling.
Grand Canyon
We went to Arizona for a warm getaway only to visit during a cold snap. Had to take a short run through Grand Canyon during a mini blizzard.
March St. Patrick’s Day 4 miler
Cherry Blossom 10 miler
I was gifted with perfect weather for the Cherry Blossom and a house full of friends from near and far.
May in The Maldives and Singapore
Our whirlwind trip to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation offered up some fantastic running sites.
June had us jogging through Niagara Falls
That time I tried to explain to Jerry Seinfeld what a Ragnar relay was and why someone would actually pay to run one.
July 4th’s annual run into DC
Hiking in Aspen offered amazing views and clean, fresh air.
Sweltering in the summer heat
Our iced tea runs became quite popular in August.
September’s California’s wine country
Beautiful views for running and cycling.
Stand up Paddle boarding triathlon was new to me and a blast.
October was a breath of fresh air
The fall temps were just what we were waiting for. I perhaps got a little too over zealous with the mileage and ended up with an injury. I was out for 6 weeks.
November Namaste
No running in November but an amazing weekend of yoga with friends was the perfect way to kick off my birthday celebrations.
December Holiday Spirit
I was not about to let my running injury spoil my Holiday plans.
While I’ve had a little hiccup in my running of late, I am working hard to comeback stronger than ever. Looking back on my year of running 2019, I think I have a lot to be thankful for. I had so many fun adventures and I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings. Where did your running shoes take you this year?
linking up with Kim, Zenaida, Debbie and Marc
My running shoes didn’t get to travel a whole lot this year (unless you count running at my parents, LOL) — but at least I added one state! One state at a time, right?
You had so many fun adventures in 2019! Hope 2020 is even better.
One state at a time indeed! Cheers to happy running to both of us in 2020
I joined your blog late in the year so 99% of your 2019 activities are completely new to me. What a fantastic year you had! So many interesting places and races. It’s a shame you got injured towards the end, but hey, you’re are working on your comeback.
I’ll remember to do that kind of review in 2020 – for most of 2019, I was injured.
Running injuries are the worst but I think, inevitable for all of us at some point. I did have lots of fantastic adventures this year. So glad that we have connected this year. Here’s to happy injury free running to both of us in 2020
Great minds think alike.
Great year of running and skirts.
Skirts are essential to great runs right?!
Love your year in review!!!
I had some great adventures!
What an awesome year of running you have had. So many great trips and places to see by running! I am sorry that injury is still plaguing you. Hopefully that will change in the new year!
I did have a fantastic year of running and I hope I am back to normal running by January. Thanks!
You definitely traveled the world, and took the running shoes along with you 🙂 So many great adventures! Of course, Cherry Blossom is one of my top favs 🙂
I had forgotten how many places I visited until I did the recap.
This may sounds silly but I had no idea it snowed at the Grand Canyon. What an interesting but cool place to run! This year my running shoes took me around Central New Jersey a lot and along the beach, I ran a bit at my parents and in Vermont next to some cows.
I was in Vermont a few years back and it was gorgeous. Yes it does snow at the Grand Canyon 🙂 It was very beautiful
You had an amazing year–injury or not! I loved seeing all your travels. Here’s to an injury free 2020 and I hope we can have a meet-up!
Yes cheers to an injury free happy run year for both of us in 2020.

Oh, I love reading everyones yearend wrap-ups. You had a wonderful year except for the injury that kept you off the trail for six weeks. Here’s to an even better 2020!
Yes over all I sure did have a great year of running
What a wonderful look back at an incredible year!
I had some fun and took on some new races, and I loved them all. I didn’t hit the goals I wanted to hit, but I guess it is what it is.
Can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for both of us!
Yes here’s to happy healthy injury free running in 2020

Wow, you ran in some beautiful places and always with a big smile on your face. I definitely have to step up my game (with destinations, not smile. Running always makes me smile) 😉
