Thanks for joining Coco and me for the February Ultimate Coffee Date today. Since it’s the end of the month, I am throwing in a few Runfessions for fun. I have a lot to tell you today! Grab your coffee mugs and let’s get right to it.
February 2020 Ultimate Coffee Date Runfessions
If we were having coffee, I would Runfess …
You may recall my mentioning about a year ago that I signed up for an adult Bat Mitzvah program. Well that year has sure flown by because it’s tonight! There are 12 of us in my group tonight, all of us becoming adult Bat Mitzvahs. I would Runfess that I am a little nervous about reading from the torah (in Hebrew) in front of so many people. Admittedly, I did not know how to read Hebrew at all before this class. I did not want a big “to do” but I am having a small celebration tonight with my besties. Stay tuned for some pics on Sunday for the Weekly Run Down.
If we were having coffee, I would Runfess…
I can’t believe that Rock N Roll New Orleans is next weekend. Wow this month flew by! I am excited that my husband is coming along this time and we have a few fun tours on our agenda. He is a big foodie, so there will be lots of good eats. I may not be able to walk afterwards but I am excited about the half.
If we were having coffee, I would Runfess…
Just call me the blog linkup queen! I am joining Debbie, Rachel, Lisa, Jen and Smitha for the new Wednesday “Runners’ Roundup”. What’s one more linkup? I actually love them and find I have really been able to connect with so many more bloggers and readers. We hope to encourage a much broader range of posts relating to running and wellness. With this “six pack” of runners you can expect lots of great content. Look forward to seeing you there.
Whew! That was a lot! Thanks for joining us for the February 2020 Ultimate Coffee Date Runfessions. If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

Deborah Brooks says
Oh no the hubs is just my cheering section and foodie guide 🙂
Marcia says
I wondered if you’d gone through with your Bat Mitzvah prep! Congrats and good luck! You’ll be great! Have so much fun in NOLA. It’s a wonderful place for foodie. I runfess when I glanced at your new linkup graphic I thought the runner’s race bib was a coronavirus mask! Haha!
Deborah Brooks says
ha ha on the virus! Yes I cannot believe it is tonight already!
Wendy says
Glad to hear about the Bat Mitzvah! So exciting. You’ve got a lot of good stuff going on!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks a lot going on for sure but good stuff 🙂
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Mazel Tov! You’ll do great, I know (now imagine doing it at 13!). Although I did go to Hebrew School — and sang in the Junior Choir. I was a bit nervous about speaking at my Dad’s service, and wasn’t quite sure I’d actually do it although I’d written something. Seriously, I know you’ll be fine.
We definitely ate our way through New Orleans, and we did a couple of tours, too. I’m already looking for a food tour of Portland when we’ll be there this Summer . . .
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks Judy I just have to not look up during the torah reading lol. My kids keep telling me they did it at 13 so I have nothing to be nervous about
Erica @ Erica Finds says
Mazel Tov on the Bat Mitzvah! My stepmom did that in her 50s. It was really cool. I imagine it’s more meaningful as an adult when you have more life experiences!
I’ll check out the new link up!
Good luck in NOLA!!
Deborah Brooks says
You know I would have to agree with that to some degree I guess it is! Thanks and yes hope to see you over on the Wednesday linkup as well
Maureen @ Maureen Gets Real says
Congratulations on the Bat Mitzvah!! So exciting! Enjoy the celebration.
If we were having coffee, or tea for me :), I’d runfess that I’m a little nervous with how my knee will hold up now that I’m routinely adding mileage on in order to train for my half marathon in March. I’m doing what I can in terms of strength exercises but you just never know I guess.
Deborah Brooks says
Know you really never do know. I am working on adding mileage back too. Just listen to your body and take rest when you need it
Katie says
I was born and raised in NOLA! You’ll have so much fun. I can’t wait to see your posts about it. It’s truly one of the most unique cities in this country (or anywhere).
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks! That’s what I hear! Really looking forward to a fun filled few days there

Congratulations on the Bat Mitzvah! That’s really fantastic. Is there a particular heme for the new link up? Is it replacing the Coaches Corner? I’d love to have time for midweek blogging. Good luck with New Orleans!

Trying so hard to get my race recaps done for Tuesday TOpics, but good to know about the Wednesday one as an option for if/when I don’t make it.
New Orleans and Bermuda snuck up on us in the best possible way
Deborah Brooks says
Yes feel free to join us on Wednesdays with race recaps. Should be fun. And yes, I could have used a few more weeks to train but it will be fun none the less.

Best wishes for Rock N Roll at New Orleans and huge dishes of Yammie food for your husband.
