I have such a hard time with meditation! I could use this one.

My favorite challenge is the #3for31 from Robin Arzon of Peloton fame. Basically, you commit to moving your body for 30 min or 3 miles for the 31 days of December but you can do this for any month of the year!

Why pick just one challenge this year?! From yoga, to meditation, to squats, to self care and planks. There is enough healthy motivation for everyone and every interest here. Which wellness challenge will you do? Have you done any other monthly challenges you would suggest to me?

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Very inspiring challenges! Thanks for collecting all these ideas!
I have never done a 30-day challenge, simply because I never thought of it. I am going to carefully choose one from your selection, adapt it to my needs and try it!

I really like the idea of the non-fitness challenges! I think now we should all look at the gratitude and be more positive challenges!

I love this list! Will put myself through a 30-day hamstring stretch challenge. I just did a 100-mi challenge run/walk/hike in February. Would also love to do a yoga pose challenge again.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/13/2020 at 7:26 pm

Fantastic! The hamstring stretch sounds good to me too

  10. Chocolaterunsjudy says

  11. Laurie says

Wow! They all look great. Thanks for a whole year’s worth of challenges to pick from. My gym was just closed again for several weeks (at least) due to COVID. I need some stuff I can do at home. The ab challenge looks…challenging! I don’t know if I could do even 1 roll up. Something to work on.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/11/2020 at 9:32 am

You can definitely do it. Sounds like the perfect challenge for you!

  12. Kimberly Hatting says

    12/11/2020 at 9:30 am

I think 30 day challenges are a great way to not only try new things (with a short term commitment) but also allow for focusing on a particular muscle group that may need a little extra attention. A lot of my challenges, like these, have morphed into my daily/weekly routine 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/11/2020 at 9:35 am

Yes they are a fun way to try new things that we may end up really enjoying

  13. meranda@fairytalesandfitness says

    12/11/2020 at 9:48 am

I should do the flat abs challenge but I am most likely to do the gratitude challenge! I will be printing that one out! Thanks

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/11/2020 at 11:02 am

You have plenty of time do both!

  14. Laura Allen says

    12/11/2020 at 10:48 am

This is such an amazing round up! Switching up your workouts is so essential so your muscles don’t get used to the same thing! Love this post!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/11/2020 at 11:02 am

      Yes exactly!

  15. Mimi says

  16. patricia @ Grab a Plate says

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/12/2020 at 12:49 pm

Fantastic enjoy it! I always feel better when I have yoga in my life

  17. Helen Little says

    12/12/2020 at 5:22 pm

Yay, what great challenges! I really need to start working on my fitness levels. At the moment it’s just walking and lifting my big toddler! 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/12/2020 at 8:58 pm

      well that is a workout!

  18. Jar of lemons says

    12/12/2020 at 8:12 pm

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/12/2020 at 8:59 pm

thanks it is always fun to mix it up a bit. Now is the perfect time

  19. Molly says

    12/13/2020 at 8:33 pm

These are awesome! I recently dusted off my spin bike and I’m really enjoying getting back into it. So, I might have to jump on that stationary bike challenge!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/14/2020 at 8:34 am

      OH great that sounds perfect!

  20. Jenny says

    11/28/2023 at 3:20 pm

I like the sefl care challenge (because it includes a power nap!) The one I should really do is the meditation challenge. Well… maybe i will! It’s not a big time commitment and it would be good for me. Thanks for these awesome ideas.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/29/2023 at 8:57 am

meditation has always been super challenging for me too!

  21. Catrina says

    11/29/2023 at 2:13 am

I love all these ideas. Small changes in our routine – even just 5 minutes a day – can have an enormous impact over a month. Will you be doing the 3 for 31 challenge next month?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/29/2023 at 8:58 am

I agree, small changes can make huge impacts. Yes, I will be doing the #3for31 challenge again. It’s very doable for me and I love the interaction w the community

  22. Lisa @ Mile by Mile says

    11/29/2023 at 4:45 am

Great ideas here! Doing a 30 day challenge right now can really help you stay on track during the busy holidays season.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/29/2023 at 8:58 am

I agree! These are all pretty easy to add into a busy holiday schedule

  23. Debbie says

    11/29/2023 at 8:25 am

These are great! I’m not very good at sticking with challenges but these look fun and very doable.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/29/2023 at 8:59 am

I think sometimes people take them on without planning out how to implement them into their schedules. I hope I offered some that can seamlessly fit into a busy schedule

  24. Darlene S Cardillo says

    11/29/2023 at 8:41 am

Thanks so much… these are great… something for everyone.

I’m not into challenges or streaking but I do think I could do the Gratitude one and the Accountability one.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/29/2023 at 9:00 am

Thanks, I tried to pick a wide range that people can easily fit into their busy schedules

  25. Kimberly Hatting says

    11/29/2023 at 10:45 am

These all look very doable, especially for beginners or those who are short on time (Umm, that’s pretty much everyone, LOL). I agree, meditation is tough! I’m not skilled with that either!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/29/2023 at 5:37 pm

I have never been able to stick with or get into meditation. My mind just wanders!

  26. Debbie says

    11/29/2023 at 12:58 pm

These are great! I should turn some of the challenges I set up for my clients into infographics and share them on my blog.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/29/2023 at 5:37 pm

      Yes that’s a great idea

  27. Nicole @ Foodie Loves Fitness says

    11/30/2023 at 6:06 pm

This post is so fun! I love a good challenge. I think the jump rope one would actually be a challenge for me because I’m not great at it!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/01/2023 at 9:14 am

jump rope is always harder than I expect!

  28. Catrina says

    01/15/2025 at 3:51 am

I really like the idea of the gratitude and self-care challenges! They are just as important as the physical fitness challenges.
I take my jump rope with me when I travel and never use it… maybe time for a skipping rope challenge for me, ha!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/15/2025 at 9:24 am

Those jump rope challenges are always harder than expected!

  29. Lisa @ Mile by Mile says

    01/15/2025 at 4:27 am
