Happy Friday friends! For those of us that are runners, our feet sure take a beating on a daily basis. After having plantar fasciitus a few times, I’ve come up with some sure fire ways to take care of my feet. I’m sharing my 5 Fabulous Ways to show your feet some love. I will also be sharing a quick review of Oofos Original sport sandals. I received a pair of OOfos to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro here. All opinions are my own.
5 Fabulous Ways To Show Your Feet Some Love
Post run soak
Now that it’s (kind of) cooling off, I am back to my post long run bath soaks. My feet and my legs love to soak in a warm Epsom Salt bath. I’ve been going through my Dr. Teals bags like crazy.
Roll it out
Probably the most effective thing that I do for my feet. I keep this foot log under my kitchen table. That way, it’s so easy to do a little roll while I am eating breakfast and dinner. I also roll my feet while I type by blog posts. My feet always thank me!
Moisturize at night
For years, I’ve been applying a layer of Aquafor to my feet before bed. Put on your socks and wake up with softer feet. It really works!
Heel drops
Really for the feet and calves. I always try most of the time to take a few minutes to stretch out my feet with heel drops and raises on the step. I am never disappointed I did.
Recovery shoes
So now that you’ve soaked, rolled, moisturized and stretched your feet, it’s time to talk about recovery shoes. I originally fell in love with Oofos a few years ago while recovering from PF. So when I was offered a pair of the new Oofos Ooriginal Sports to test out, I jumped in feet first. LOL.
From the moment your feet slide into the Oofos, they are greeted by a soft foam footbed. The arch support is fantastic and just what my tired running feet need. They are completely waterproof and thus perfect to wear to the pool, in the shower at the gym or just running errands.
My previous pair has been around for 2 years already so I know they are quite durable. I’ve even thrown them in the washing machine in the past. After a long run, wearing Oofos is the best way to show my feet some love.
How do you treat your feet and show them some love? Ever tried Oofos?

I loved Oofos when I first got them, but I’ve had pain on the side of my foot for a long time now & they actually do exacerbate the pain. 🙁 I’ve been working hard on the stretches my PT gave me, because I have quite a few of the sandals and I would like to wear them again!
BTW, heel drops are one of the stretches. And he also has me put something soft under my feet so that when they come down they go onto something soft which helps deepen the stretch. I’m using a soft yoga block. 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
Using a soft yoga block is an interesting idea. I am going to try it!
Maureen @ Maureen Gets Real says
I love getting a pedicure when my feet really feel beat up. Even if the polish doesn’t stay perfect, there’s something about someone else doing your toes that is so relaxing.
I’ve never tried Oofos but so many people love them!
Deborah Brooks says
I love my pedis and yes they sure do feel amazing

I just recently got my first pair of Oofos and I don’t know why I haven’t gotten a pair earlier. They are the comfiest sandal I’ve ever worn.
Deborah Brooks says
I know! Hope you enjoy
Megan @ Meg Go Run says
I never treat my feet. They are effed. My toenails are non existent… It is okay I guess. What I should REALLY stop doing is biting my fingernails! Basically my finger and toenails are gross. 🙁
Deborah Brooks says
Oh boy! Perhaps we need to do an intervention! 🙂
Teresa says
I buy so much of Dr. Teal’s, I should really buy stock in it! I runfess that I still do not own a pair of Oofas …sounds like a great item for the Christmas list.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes a great idea for your Christmas list!
Cari says
Ooh I’ll have to try the Aquaphor tip. Have a chunk left from my most recent tattoo. My other foot favorite is Baby Foot. So gross but so wonderful to just have it all peel away. It’s not so strong that it disrupts natural calluses I found, but rather the really rough spots that drag on socks
I like your foot log. I have a couple of PF balls I use but might look into that — harder to lose!
Deborah Brooks says
yes for sure harder to lose! I do really like the foot log
Farrah says
Great tips! I’ve heard such great things about Oofos!
Deborah Brooks says
I really do love them and so do my feet
Esther says
I love to soak and roll my feet. I just got a pair of SoleHealers that have been really helpful!
Those recovery shoes look perfect!
Deborah Brooks says
It’s so important to take care of our feet if we want them to cooperate with us
