Use these features for all the Peloton programs such as running, cycling, bootcamps, meditation, yoga, stretching, Barre, Pilates, strength, and outdoor workouts.

12 Most Useful Features of The Peloton App

Filter option

The most useful feature on the app (in my opinion). From here, you can choose length of class, type of class, instructor, level of difficulty, if you have taken the class previously, music type and whether subtitles are available (from German). The features tab is continuously updated as new class types are added or based on user demand.

Sync to Strava

Set your Peloton account to sync all of your workouts to Strava and have all of your efforts in one place. A great way to keep track of different types of workouts and stats over the month and year.

Peloton + Spotify

Hear a song you love during class? If you have a Spotfiy account, you can save your favorite music directly to your unique Spotify playlist. Simply “favorite” a song and it will push directly to your Spotify account. You can then access this playlist anytime on the go.

Hashtags

Connect with like minded Peloton riders by adding up to 10 hashtags to your profile. Change the displayed hashtag as often as you wish.

Bookmark classes

See a class you’d like to take at a future time? Simply Bookmark it for easy reference. You can remove the bookmark at any time.

Share a class with a friend

Show off your successful workouts or share a suggestion with a friend. Hit the forward button to easily email or text the class suggestion to a friend.

Leaderboard options

Love it or leave it. The leaderboard can be filtered to show all time riders, riders here now, or friends with similar hashtags. Not a fan of the leaderboard? HIde it all together for your ride.

Multiple Users

Keep track of multiple users on the same account by setting up another account. Additional family members can create their own profile to access the same account.

Live Class Schedule

Scroll through the live schedule and select “count me in” to get a reminder before a live class starts.

Enable Power Zone Metrics

Looking for more metrics on your progress? Enable power zone metrics to track your progress on output numbers.

Monthly and Yearly Challenges

Get even more motivation by participating in monthly and yearly challenges. These often urge you to try out new disciplines and acquire digital “badges” for completing them.

Track Heart Rate with Apple Watch

Have an apple watch? Pair it with Peloton to keep track of heart rate and other metrics.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

I really appreciate your insights on the Peloton experience and your associated posts, Deborah, just to be clear: you’re talking about the Peloton App (that you can access from the phone, I believe?), but then mention the Leaderboard and Power Zone options. Those two features are not available for us app users (just on the Peloton bike itself) as far as I know. Am I wrong?

Yes I am speaking of the features that are available on both the app and the bike/tread itself. You can see some features of the LB on the app version but not all.The Power zone options are only for the bike classes. Glad you are enjoying my posts.

I tried the Peloton app last year when they were offering the free 90 day trial. I found it to be very user friendly and the offerings were crazy good. Whoever designed it did a great job. I didn’t know there were all these other features. Thanks for sharing!

I love the new taken by me/not taken by me filter. I also have started preloading some classes to ensure a smooth class. For ages I had no buffering issues, but then I started to, so pre-loading is an easy fix.

I am really impressed by the features and I like that they keep updating them to meet demand.

I really love the bookmark feature as it helps me plan my classes for the week and I can save workouts that I really loved. I also like the pre-download feature. I use that for a lot of the bootcamps and runs as it reduces connectivity issues.

The bookmark feature is great and I also like the “taken by me” indication I tend to go back to a few of the same stretches

I’d love to get a Peloton so badly, I’d totally download these apps if I do!
