Tis the season to look back on all of the many miles run and races completed throughout 2016. This is where having a blog is so helpful because who can remember all the crazy amount of races you signed for? Here is a quick “run down” of my year of running 2016.

Countless Runs with my MRTT group

Not to sound sappy but these are the best of them all! For me it is not so much the races that stand out but the everyday runs with my BRF’s that are the most memorable. I am so lucky to have found my tribe of amazing friends.

What a year it’s been! I had forgotten about some of these runs and it’s been great fun to look back. I can’t wait to see what next year brings for me.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

  12. Marsha says

    12/14/2016 at 10:39 am

It’s been a tough one for me with the new diagnosis of arthritis in my knee. I’ve had to back down to the 5K in 2 half marathons that I was registered for. I am revamping my entire running schedule. I’m hoping I can do the Indy Mini in May. It will be my 20th time for that event. Needless to say this has not been my best running year, but I’m trying to learn from it and make the best of it!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/14/2016 at 11:36 am

Sorry to hear that your knee is bothering you. I’ve had my share of running injuries as well and I have learned that sticking to shorter distances works better for me. I have to do a race in Indy one of these days~

      • Marsha says

        12/14/2016 at 11:53 am

Thanks Deborah! 5Ks may become my race of choice in 2017 🙂
