Tuesday- 4 mile run

We had crazy windy days this week. Almost lost my hat  few times!

wrapping up November

Wednesday- 90 min strength training and kickboxing + 2 mile treadmill walk

A sweat fest over here today. Love to do compound moves that require both balance and strength. I was supposed to meet a friend for a walk but it was way too windy. I hit the treadmill for a walk and caught up on some tv shows.

wrapping up November

Thursday- 3.75 mile run

Today’s run felt hard and the strong wind was really a challenge. Had originally planned to go a little longer but nope didn’t happen.

wrapping up November

Friday- 60 min Vinyasa yoga

Did it really happen if I went to yoga and forgot to take a photo? ha ha. I did have a chance to take my new Aftershokz air out for a quick test run. I love the idea of being able to listen to music and also hear what is going on around me. Full review coming soon. Thanks to Bib Rave for the chance to check them out.

Saturday- Hot Yoga 60 min

Loving my hot yoga on cold winter mornings. The hamstrings have been super tight lately and I love the warm stretching.

Sunday- Girls On The Run 5K

Stay tuned for details!

Wrapping up November and looking forward to our MRTT Holiday party and the start of Hanukkah this week. What are you looking forward to this week?

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Nice week. Our GOTR 5k got cancelled due to snow.

Isn’t great to have friends to run with.

I’m looking forward to some holiday parties and getting to see friends that I don’t see often.

oh no that is so unfortunate! What a bummer for the girls who worked all season for it. Have fun at your holiday parties I have a busy week ahead as well

Yeah, I didn’t get any pictures of my actual yoga either. Is it cheating to take one during my run? LOL

    Nice week for you!

A solid week of workouts! Our girls on the run 5k was Saturday too. Originally it was supposed to be 2 weeks ago but we had too much snow the day before. Yesterday was a great day for it!

      12/02/2018 at 4:14 pm

Oh good I am glad you were able to reschedule it. We had a great time today. Always warms my heart to see them cross the finish line with big smiles on their faces

Congrats on another great GOTR season! Yesterday was perfect for hot yoga, but I spent it wrestling with our tree and on unsuccessful errands. Those Aftershokz look cool!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/02/2018 at 4:43 pm

It was a great morning with the girls! I have tons of errands on my list for tomorrow too. Aftershokz coming your way this week 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

OH that’s fun! both of my niece’s are performing in a Nutcracker performance next week everyone loves it

Wow you traveled a ton in November! I’m envious of your hot yoga. I need to get my rear in gear and get to a studio. Your GOTR race is so late in the year. Here they’re in May and September. This weekend would’ve been horrendous for racing as it never stopped pouring.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2018 at 8:07 am

I really enjoy the hot yoga in the winter time. I find it’s perfect after a cold run and a I get a great stretch. Yes our GOTR season starts in Sept and goes through this week. WE really lucked out with the weather it was pouring all night before.

  13. Lisa @ Mile by Mile says

    12/03/2018 at 5:03 am

The wind was crazy this week! I think thats my least favorite part of winter. Hope your GOTR 5k went well!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2018 at 8:11 am

It really was a crazy weather week this week looks much better. Yes it was a great day for the girls

  14. Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says

    12/03/2018 at 6:56 am

Yes, it happened if you don’t take a photo. I have to admit that’s another one that rubs me the wrong way — where did that idea come from anyway? And I know you are coming from a good place. 🙂

I’ve been catching up on tv shows walking on the treadmill too! Much easier than donning all the layers and freezing my butt off. 🙂

You DID have a busy November — I’m sure December isn’t much better.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2018 at 8:14 am

This week is super crazy for us and I think next week I can relax a bit. Hope you have a great week

I had a hard time just seeing the Aftershokz in your photo. I’m interesting in hearing what you thought about them. I’m very serious about how my music sounds while running. Would you believe I’ve seen our youngest son MORE since he went off to college? Before he left, he was always with the girlfriend. Now he comes home and stays here for visits. It’s been great! Thanks for linking!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2018 at 8:15 am

I need to test out the Aftershokz a few more times and then I will tell all! That’s nice that you get to see your son more. I do face time with my daughter almost everyday so that’s nice

  16. chaitali says

    12/03/2018 at 10:42 am

Sounds like a great week! I look forward to hearing what you think of the aftershokz. I’ve been loving mine for the most part but I have a hard time wearing them with an ear band for Winter! I hadn’t even thought of that before.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2018 at 2:53 pm

I have to try them with an earband or hat and see how that goes!

  17. Debbie @ Deb Runs says

    12/03/2018 at 3:40 pm

I can’t wait to hear how your girls did at their race. Congrats on another great season!

Hope you’re having a great Hanukkah!

I like catching up on shows while getting cardio in too. Lately I’ve been cycling while Netflixing it up with Orange is the New Black.. makes my workout speed by!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/05/2018 at 5:57 pm

Thanks and yes watching fun tv shows is a great way to get your cardio to fly by!
