I am joining in on the weekly wrap with HoHo,  Tricia and guest host Kim. This past week was a recovery week from Sunday’s sprint tri and I backed off of my workouts a bit. Here’s how my week went:

Weekly Wrap Recovery Week

Monday-stretching and 15 min elliptical

Feeling super tired from yesterday’s race but wanted to stretch out a bit. Literally could not keep my eyes open and ended up taking a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. I never do that but wow it was just what I needed.

Tuesday– My legs were not wanting to run so I had an easy 40 min swim. It was a gorgeous morning and I had the pool all the myself. Feeling so much better.

My legs were asking for one more day of rest so had a nice recovery swim. So peaceful to have the pool all to myself on the gorgeous day. Couldn’t stop thinking about what I was going to eat when I got out lol. What do you think about while swimming? #racerecovery #swimmer #tuesdaymorning #swimgoals #triathlon #trigirl #tritraining #womenfortri #moveeveryday #alwayshungry #optoutside #summer2017 #swimbikerun #trilife

Wednesday-Back to my regular schedule! 90 min of kickboxing and weights with my trainer. Feeling back to normal and ready for a harder workout.

Thursday-Met my MRTT group for a hilly 5k on a beautiful day.

Weekly Wrap Recovery Week

I had just finished working on my Meatless Monday recipe for tomorrow so I brought them along a taste taste for a post run treat. I’ve got an easy, no bake post workout Trail Mix Popcorn Ball recipe you are all going to love hope you come back tomorrow for the recipe. Wish I could give you a taste test as well but here’s a sneak peak.

Thursday night-Our MRTT Scavenger Hunt run brought out a bunch of our members and their kids which is always a change of pace. Did not expect to run so much but we got into the spirit and ended up with another 3 miles of running. Perfect night for it.

Friday

Skipped my bike ride and headed straight to Master Swim Class. The outdoor pool is now open and I love having our class outside makes a huge difference. Our coach worked us hard as usual and then jumped in with us for a fun group underwater photo.

Friday Funday! A little post swim class shenanigans to start our weekend off on a fun note. Perfect water temp, sunny sky & lots of friends. Hope your Friday is off to a great start too! #masterswim #sweatwithfriends #fridayfriends #trigirl #triathlon #tritraining #justkeepswimming #summer2017 #sportandhealth #goggleeyes #poolparty

Saturday

Switched up our route and took on a super hilly 4 miler that just happened to end up at a donut shop and a Starbucks. Nice huh? Spent the rest of the day hanging out by the pool with my family and had my parents over for dinner.

Weekly Wrap

Sunday- Another rest day and I plan to hang out by the pool. We have some friends coming over for a BBQ tonight. I am ready to jump right back into my regular training schedule tomorrow and hope to get some bike rides back in this week.

And that’s a wrap! What was the highlight of your week?

It’s so smart to take some recovery time after a race. I love that one of your runs ended by the donut shop. I believe that is a sign to indulge in a yummy donut!

Hope you’re enjoying your rest day today!

I love how you’ve embraced the swim. I wish I loved to swim, heck, I wish I liked it. I think it would be a great backup plan for me. Maybe I’ll consider it over the winter.

I was exhausted the day after Bolder Boulder and took a nap when I got home that day. I don’t normally do that either, but it wasn’t until after that nap when I felt human again. I was dragging the whole day.

Sometimes you just need a good nap!
