Rain Rain Go Away

Monday- 30 min elliptical + 60 min strength training

Mostly abs and arms for this Monday workout. Was supposed to bike but no such luck with the weather.

Tuesday- 4 mile run/walk

After a night of wicked thunder storms, the sun came out and it was over 90 degrees all of the sudden. I was not ready for running in these conditions and my run turned into a run + walk. I need time to adapt to humidity. Thankfully had my friends along for the challenge.

rain rain go away

Wednesday- 90 min kickboxing and strength training

Kicked it into high gear for this Workout Wednesday-always one of my favorite workouts of the week.

Rain Rain Go Away

Thursday- 3.5 mile run

Okay mother nature, you can’t stop us from getting our run done. Anyone have a spare Ark?

rain rain go away

I was so happy to have these new Kleenex Wet Wipes in my car after this adventure. I was a mess! You can find them on sale at Amazon right now. Would so appreciate if you checked them out here.

rain rain go away

Friday- vinyasa yoga class and 50 m elliptical

No surprise that we awoke to torrential rain again. My bike plans were again ruined. The is everyday rain is getting very old! My Friday swim class was also cancelled because the pool is under maintenance this week. Trying to “go with the flow” and got in a Vinyasa class.

Saturday- 45 min elliptical at home

I was hoping the rain would clear and I could finally get on my bike but no such luck. Still pouring rain rain go away please.

Sunday- Girls on the run 5K

I will be running our end of the season 5K with my team of almost 60 girls and 10 coaches. Much more to come on that later in the week.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

It’s been a crazy month and I’m struggling to get it all done. We’ve had a ton of rain too. So over it!

I’m looking forward to hearing more about your GOTR 5k!

I think I am busier this month than during the holidays this year!

It’s been pretty rainy here in Florida too lately. I know we get our summer afternoon rain, but this is something else. The humidity is up too.

The weather has just been crazy everywhere this year!

Sorry for all the rain! Rain can be such a buzzkill, especially when it’s nonstop. You did have a lot of stuff happening! May has been crazy for me, as well. As much as I”m dreading the upcoming graduation (for selfish “mom” reasons), it will be nice to have that checked off my lengthy to-do list.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2018 at 7:31 pm

I know I have such mixed feelings about graduation. I am not ready to let my baby go yet.

This rain has been crazy and I know you have been getting way more than us! My folks live up that way and my mom is totally over it. I’m sorry the weather derailed your week but it looks like you still managed a good one! Happy anniversary and happy birthday to your son!

What a busy week. Impressed you balanced it all, way to go!

I am ready for the rain to be over too. I think it rained everyday this rain. And today I had a short window with no rain to try and go for a run, but wasn’t lucky enough to finish without it starting to rain again. Hopefully this coming week get nicer.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2018 at 9:28 pm

I sure hope so for both of us!

    Square… Ark. LOL
We’ve had the same weather a few hundred miles north. It’s ridiculous. We had a dash of summer again today, although not as bad as Tuesday. I’d like a consistent spring, I’m not yet ready for summer. I watched an insane black cloud float just north as I sat in the park to read, but luckily didn’t get wet. These last couple weeks have been nuts, but not as crazy as yours.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2018 at 9:29 pm

      They sure have!

We have had rain on and off for weeks. We did have a week like that a few weeks ago, where it rained 6 days straight. Cold rain. It was horrible!

Here’s to a nice sunny week this week.

Thankfully my life is nowhere near as crazy.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/21/2018 at 7:31 am

Yes here’s to a nice sunny week for both of us! Have a good one

OMG the rain this week was so annoying. I was like “Is this how people in Seattle feel”?!
Congrats on another successful season of GOTR!

The rain was crazy! I think people in Seattle have more of a misty rain instead of the deluge we had. At least I hope so for their sake 🙂

Lots of ridiculous rain! It’s been raining almost all day for a week now. I feel like I’m in Seattle, not Florida! Is it just me or does the rain make you feel lazy?

      05/22/2018 at 4:05 pm
