This has been a crazy busy week around here. One of those weeks where I completely over committed myself but still managed to get all my workouts in (and then some). Linking up with Hoho and Wendy for the Weekly Wrap Packing it all in.
Packing it all in
Sunday- Westfield’s Sprint Triathlon
If you missed my recap find it here.
Monday- light strength training and 30 min elliptical
Feeling pretty good after yesterday’s race so kept my strength training and elliptical on the schedule. I had scheduled a massage post race and it was amazing.
Tuesday- 3 mile run/walk + coaching Girls on The Run
My calf was still tight from Sunday’s race and I felt it on my run. Ended up walking a bit as not to aggravate it more.
Wednesday- 90 min strength training/kickboxing
Feeling back to normal and had a great strength training session. Working on lots of core and balance moves the past few weeks. My weakest spot for sure. Rushed off to my son’s afternoon lacrosse game where they secured their spot in the division play offs!
Thursday- 17 mile bike ride + yoga for runners class + coaching girls on the run
A cool, low humidity morning made the perfect day for a bike ride. I decided my calf could use an extra day of rest and I knew the biking would not bother it. Then ran over to a special Yoga for Runners class that one of my fave studios was hosting for our MRTT group. Always feels good to stretch out!
I was then off to coordinate our practice 5K for our girls on the run team. Our end of the season race is next weekend already! We like to set up a practice 5k for them a week before. Lots of logistics and moving parts but we got it done. Organized chaos!
Friday- master swim class + cycle class + lacrosse game
I was so excited to bring my 16 year old niece along with me to my swim class. She swims for her school and I was super impressed by how fast she was. I had a hard time keeping up! Then a friend of mine was hosting a “happy hour cycle ride” so I jumped in there. Yep it was a 3 shower kind of day! 1 actual hair wash and 2 dry shampoos. Whew!
Literally fell into bed Friday night!
Saturday- Mother’s Day run and breakfast with my #momsquad
I hosted a an early run and coffee breakfast with my favorite mother runners. Conquered some serious hills and treated myself to a mimosa.
How cute are these napkins?
Maureen @ Maureen Gets Real says

Deborah Brooks says
It was a busy one for sure! Thanks so much

Happy Mothers Day and Anniversary ! Busy Busy Busy mom.
Deborah Brooks says
This week for sure! Thanks my friend
Kim G says
I’m tired just reading about your workouts this week, especially Wednesday!
Love that you had such an awesome brunch with your mom run squad! Happy Mother’s Day!!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks! Yes last week was crazy busy and it looks like this one might be too. That time of year!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
You had a busy week and got in a lot of workouts! I usually wash my hair after a run unless Im not doing anything the rest of the days- sometimes I don’t wash it on Sundays.
Deborah Brooks says
My hair gets so sweaty and gross I can’t really let it go! #runnerprobs
fairytales and fitness says
Happy mothers day AND anniversary to you! That’s a smart way to make sure your husband doesn’t forget either occasion!
When is your Girls on the Run 5K? Our has always been the first weekend in May.
Deborah Brooks says
Ours is next weekend a little later than usual. Hope it’s not too hot!
Lesley says
It was quite a busy week for you. I normally shower at the end of the day, so at least after my daily workouts. I don’t want to wash my hair more than once a day, but will if I absolutely need to.
Deborah Brooks says
Believe me I did not want to wash my hair again but can’t get in my bed with dirty hair!
Kimberly Hatting says
That was a crazy week! Happy Anniversary to you and the hubs 😉 (no, I don’t think I’ve ever had a 3-shower day LOL)
Deborah Brooks says
3 showers is a bit much even for me! 🙂
Laurie says
Wow! Don’t know where to start….Happy Anniversary! You get a lot done in a week! Please tell me the woman in the yoga picture doing a split is not a runner. I can’t believe a runner could be that flexible. I sometimes have a 3 shower day too. I usually wash my hair after each shower, but I let mine air dry, because it is short. I wish I could do what hubby does, and just buzz it off!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes the yoga instructor is also in our running group! I am so tight now from running I cannot get anywhere near those splits
Wendy says
Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Anniversary! You had a crazy busy week!!!
Deborah Brooks says
I was exhausted just writing it! 🙂
Coco says
You did have a really busy week – lots of fun packed in there. I really hate showering more than once a day. I think I’ve maxed out at twice ….
Happy Mother’s Day, Happy Anniversary, and congrats to your son’s lacrosse team – we are watching the college play-offs right now.
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks x3 🙂
Hannah says
Wow, what a busy week! And happy anniversary!
I have never had a 3 shower day…but honestly when I know I’ll get sweaty again later I just wait to shower until the end of the day. I find that my sweaty clothes hold most of the stink, so once I change clothes I can hide the lack of shower.
Deborah Brooks says
Great strategy! Swimming does a number on the hair and the chlorine smell is over whelming!
Sarah @ merrillthon says
Happy Mother’s Day! Those flowers are gorgeous. And you had a great week of workouts too! I can’t recall more than a two shower day, but I do generally always wash my hair because it’s fine and is easily weighed down by dirt and oil.
Deborah Brooks says
I am hoping not to need a 3 shower day again anytime soon!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
If I wash my hair three times in one week it’s a good week. 🙂 But seriously, our hair doesn’t need that much washing (except when you swim).
Although busy, it sounds like a super fun week. Happy Anniversary!
Deborah Brooks says
Super busy and lots of fun packed into one yes. Thanks
HoHo Runs says
Wow! What a busy week for you. Congrats on 23 years of marriage! Unfortunately with our heat and humidity, I have to wash my hair after any workout. It is soaked and will sour if I don’t. But most times, it is then put in a wet ponytail. No time for styling! I hope you had a lovely Mothers Day! Thanks for linking!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes the heat and humidity certainly takes a toll on the hair!
Jennifer @ Fit Nana says
Happy anniversary! And happy Mother’s Day! Those are beautiful flowers!!
I do not wash my hair after every workout (try to do every other or every 3rd day) but I definitely get it wet and rinse out the sweat! UGH! I’ve tried dry shampoo a couple of times with little success. I think I’m probably not doing it right but my hair looks better dirty, in my opinion. haha
Sounds like you had a really great week with all those workouts, too. 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
A super busy week indeed!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
You weren’t kidding when you said you were packing it in! Sounds like some week! Happy Anniversary 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
Indeed I did pack it all in! Thanks
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I thought of you last week while you were doing your tri. I was driving somewhere and heard on the radio that roads were closed in Centerville due to a triathlon.
I do love those napkins! Where did you find them?
Deborah Brooks says
One of the MRTT ladies gave them to me. They found them at Total wine
Teresa says
Geez, I’m exhausted just reading about your week! The flowers are so pretty …happy belated anniversary!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks so much! This week is off to a busy start as well
