This week’s Weekly Wrap post just snuck up on my! I feel like I just wrote last week’s. I did not have anything too exciting to write about until yesterday’s run. I am so excited to have done my first double digit run since last spring.
Back in double digits
Sunday- Barre Reform class
The local barre studio invited our running group in to try out their new Pure Reform class. I am always up for trying something new. Read my review here.
Monday- 60 m strength training
Tuesday- 5 mile run
With our Ragnar Napa race less than two weeks away, I decided to channel my inner “Ragnarian” and get it done.
Wednesday- 90 m strength training & kick boxing + 3 mile walk
Loving my afternoon walks around the neighborhood on non running days.
Thursday- 5 mile run
Could not be loving this weather more!
Friday- Vinyasa yoga
Happy to have made it to yoga twice this week again.
Saturday- 10 mile run
After a terrible summer of running, I started to doubt whether I would actually make it to the start line of the Philadelphia half next month. The calf strain I got a few months ago really derailed my running for a few months. I have slowly been building back the mileage the last month and Saturday it finally happened. I am back to double digit runs! Definite confidence booster I needed.
Maureen @ Maureen Gets Real says
I’m glad you’re back into the double digits for you run! The best confidence boost before Ragnar and Philly.
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks I am much more confident today
Kim G says
What an awesome week for you and congrats on that double digit run!
Deborah Brooks says
thanks I was really starting to doubt my fall racing schedule
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
My running hasn’t really been confidence building lately, but that’s really not all that unusual at the end of months of training. You’re gearing up at the right time!
Congrats on the double digits! Would you believe it’s been a couple of weeks since I had a double digit run, even with a half coming up next weekend?
Deborah Brooks says
REally? It seems like you have been running quite a bit to me! I still think it’s better to be a bit undertrained than overtrained
Wendy says
Looks like you had a really good week of training! I’m looking forward to getting back on track this week.
Deborah Brooks says
I did finally have a much better running week. I hope you are having a great vacation
HoHo Runs says
Congrats on the double digits! It sure was a tough summer and I’m glad to hear your calf strain is better. I ran double digits today (the first time in 3 months) after writing about how I didn’t want to run. It felt really good — maybe laying it all there helped? Good luck at Ragnar. That is still a bucket list item for me. Thanks for linking!
Deborah Brooks says
Ha maybe so! I was just telling Wendy and Kim that we need to do a blogger Ragnar next year together. Will totally have to talk you into it 🙂
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
The cooler weather really has made such a difference lately! That’s great that you were able to get back to double digits.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes I am certainly a cool weather runner!
Kimberly Hatting says
Glad to hear the 10-miler went well! I’m always impressed with all the non-running workouts you do each week….you have such a great mix of everything 😉
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks I sure try! Running has been hard this year for me. I am definitely a cool weather runner
Fairytales and fitness says
Somehow getting that double digit run in always boosts my running confidence too. Glad you are feeling Ready! -M
Deborah Brooks says
It sure does thanks!
Lesley says
Great job! Muscle injuries can be such a pain because of the time it takes to heal. Good luck with Ragnar!
Deborah Brooks says
Yep they definitely are a pain!
Hannah says
Congrats on the 10 miler! Glad you got a good confidence booster.
Deborah Brooks says
It sure helped thanks
Coco says
Yay for a great long run! We had great running weather this week. Now it’s …. COLD! 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
These are my happy temps!
angela @ happy fit mama says
Congrats to double digits again! It’s amazing how it once seems impossible to get the mileage back up and then it happens.
Deborah Brooks says
I know it sure is!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
So happy to hear you made it back to double digits! You’ll be ready to go for Philly!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks I sure hope so!
Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says

Deborah Brooks says
me too-it’s been quite a while!
Jenn says
Great week for you! I am super jealous of the long pants and long sleeves! It was finally cool over here today, but it’s been summer forever!!!!
I just got back from San Francisco, and you are going to have the best time at the Napa ragnar. That’s definitely one worth doing!
Deborah Brooks says
I am loving the cooler weather it’s made all the difference for me the last few weeks. So excited for Napa
Allie says
Glad to read you are feeling better about your upcoming events! I’m sure the weather has something to do with it:-) Thank God it’s turning and we’ve seemed to finally arrive into fall!!! Hope the goodness continues for you…
Deborah Brooks says
Yes the weather has made all of the difference for me!
Laurie says
You are doing Ragnar Napa? How great! I hope you have some extra time built into your trip to explore the region – it’s absolutely beautiful – and visit a (some) winery (or two). Congrats on the double-digit run. You are gonna rock Philly. It’s a fantastic race.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes I am so excited for Napa! We are all doing a wine tour the day after. I may be asleep but I will be there
Teresa says
So glad the calf is feeling good and you are feeling confident! Congrats on the 10 miler! I have to admit that, for some reason, the taper for this training cycle is really messing with my mind. Saturday’s 6 mile run was a fun, but a real struggle …leaving me doubting that I will be able to run 16 miles come race day! Running is such a fickle animal, isn’t it? Lol
Deborah Brooks says
I know! Just when I think I am all good, I have a so so run and start to doubt myself again.
chaitali says
Yay for getting back to double digits! I had the same feeling when I finally hit 10 miles earlier this month. It was the first time I hit double digits since January and you’re right that it was a confidence boost 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
Yes it sure can be now I have to just keep it up. This weather is great!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Yay! It’s got to feel good to be back in the double digits!
Deborah Brooks says
It’s been a while felt good!
