Thanks for joining Kim and me for the Weekly Run Down today. When they say March comes in like a lion, they are not lyin’. This was one of those weeks where we had every season. You never quite know what season you will wake up in! Here’s a peek into my week.

The Week With All The Seasons

I switched my run days this week to accommodate for running on my friend’s birthday. I am such a creature of habit with my workouts and I kind of felt confused all week! Not to mention the weather was nutty all week.

Monday-20 min core + upper body + 35 min cycle + stretch + 1 mile walk

The afternoon warmed up and had to take advantage for a short walk.

a week with all the seasons

Tuesday- 3.5 mile walk + core

Wednesday- 7 mile run + core and stretch

Celebrating a friend’s birthday and St. Patrick’s Day today with a run into the city. It had been a while since we did this hilly route into Washington, DC. It is still so empty down there it is kind of surreal. Anyway, no leprechauns were found but we did find a yummy bakery to stop at. Fun times!

a week with all the seasons

Thursday- upper body strength + core + 30 min Peloton cycle + stretch

It was pouring out and freezing this morning so I was kind of glad that I had moved my run day. Got in some good upper body strength and cycle.

Friday- 5.5 mile Run + core + stretch

When it looks like spring but feels like winter. You never know which season you might wake up in. Wind chills back in the 20’s today. All good we ran!

Saturday- Rest Day

And we are back to spring! I got my second Covid vaccine today-happy day. My husband was such a good sport!

the week with all the seasons

Sunday- on the plan 7 mile run

Planning to stick to around 7 miles-ish for a few weeks. And we are back in the 60’s again! It’s spring again!

We sure did have a roller coaster of seasons this week! Par for the course around here. The Cherry Blossoms will be popping out soon. Although the race is now in September, I am planning a cherry blossom run of my own when they pop out in the next few weeks.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

We had winter this past week but things are looking up for next week.

I love all your colorful outfits. I do have those flowers SS tights.

That shirt is great. Congrats on joining the club! Isn’t it a wonderful feeling?

Oh yes it is a wonderful feeling and I am hopeful to start reentering some normal activities soon

We had one season here last week and that was winter. Ugh! It’s so much nicer and more spring-like now and I hope it is here to stay. Congrats again on the vaccine! Thanks for the linkup!

I hope it is here to stay! Not ready for summer yet 🙂

What a relief to be fully vaccinated. Hope you’re both feeling good with no side effects. Let’s do a cherry blossom run if our blooms overlap? I’m planning the same here because you know I’m obsessed 😀
And yes, all the seasons. I still won’t put away my hat and gloves although I’ve downgraded to the lighter hat.
Congrats on solid week as always

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:12 pm

I have decided my gloves are away for good! It warmed up fast today the sun is so much stronger. Are you going to try to get into the fall cherry blossom race?

      • Cari says

        03/25/2021 at 10:43 am

I don’t think so. I’ve done two September runs here and one was miserable, I think DC might be too warm. But fingers crossed for next year.
        You?

        • Deborah Brooks says

          03/25/2021 at 3:05 pm

I am going to do it bc I have an automatic entry in from last year. Yes it will most likely be very hot. I am also using it as a training run for a half 3 weeks later

  4. Coco says

    03/21/2021 at 10:08 am

We did have all the weather this week! I’ve heard of so many new coffee shops and bakeries in Georgetown I’ll have to check out when I go back. Speaking of which, let me know when you plan your blossom run — I’d love to join you if I can.

Yay on your second dose of vaccine. How are you feeling?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:17 pm

Yes so many bakeries in Gtown now! I am feeling fine my arm is a little sore but I will take it!

High 5 on vax #2! I went from knowing that I would get the shot “sometime” to having an appointment for next week so I’m pretty pumped to get my V card. Bye-bye COVID and good riddance.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:20 pm

Yes it is exciting to have it scheduled!

  6. Wendy says

    03/21/2021 at 11:53 am

Last week, we had some nasty weather—some snow and lots of wind. But it blew out of here just in time for the weekend. Glad you were able to get the vaccine! My son got his in Wisconsin. But I’m frustrated trying to get one for my hubs. Illinois is a hot mess.

    Have a great week!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:29 pm

Yes my daughter is wondering if she might have to come home to get her vaccine faster!

  7. Lisa @ Mile by Mile says

    03/21/2021 at 12:12 pm

We really did have all the seasons this week! Although when I ran this weekend it was still pretty chilly- barely 30 degrees. At least it warmed up later in the day!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:30 pm

      Today is pretty picture perfect!

  8. Michelle D. says

    03/21/2021 at 12:14 pm

Yay for getting your second vaccine! Massachusetts finally released the rest of the vax schedule and it looks like I will finally be eligible by mid-April. Hope you’re feeling no ill-effects.

This week did feel like all of the seasons – typical March I suppose.

    Have a great week!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:30 pm

I am all good and glad that you are going to get yours soon as well. It’s nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel

  9. Melissa says

    03/21/2021 at 12:15 pm

Hooray for being vaccinated!! We had some warm days here but it was COLD in the morning so we had 2 seasons.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:30 pm

I know it is still chilly in the morning and I keep over dressing on my runs

  10. Kim G says

    03/21/2021 at 12:18 pm

We had all of the seasons here this week. Prime example: Yesterday morning it was below 30 degrees and right now it’s almost 60, lol.
I love the those vaccinated shirts and so happy that both you and your hubby were able to get vaccinated.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:31 pm

I know it’s crazy with the weather. The wind makes a huge difference here. Yes, very happy to be vaccinated and my hubs was a good sport

  11. Jenny says

    03/21/2021 at 12:26 pm

I like your green outfit for your St. Patrick’s Day run! You really did have all the seasons this week- so crazy. But, that’s March. Yay for your second shot! Florida just opened it up to everyone over the age of 50, but I still haven’t been able to get an appointment. Soon, I hope!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:31 pm

I hope you get one soon too!

Don’t even get me started on the vaccines. Don’t get me wrong — I am happy for you & everyone who has received them. And I am waiting, waiting, waiting.

Moving on, sounds like you made the best of the weather this week & even though it was surreal, I bet it felt good to run into DC. How fun to plan a Cherry Blossom run!

    Have a great week, Deborah!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 1:32 pm

Yes it was fun to venture back downtown for a run with friends. Almost felt normal! I hope to catch the cherry blossoms this week

  13. Debbie @ Deb Runs says

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 3:41 pm

Yes I hope to get down and see them this week. It is weird not having a CB race this spring!

  16. Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says

    03/21/2021 at 1:50 pm

Hooray on the vaccines! I’m a little nervous on how I will feel after the 2nd shot. I’ve heard some people had a rough time. But I am super excited to get fully vaccinated. Great job on the workouts this week!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 3:41 pm

I feel totally fine whatever it is it is better than actually having covid!

  17. Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says

    03/21/2021 at 2:41 pm

It makes me so happy to see everyone getting their vaccines! I feel like we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and going to get back to normal this year 🙂 I hope you guys don’t have any terrible side effects from the second one.

We are getting some similar weather- this week started off humid and warm and ended up chilly and cool! It’s getting to the point where we will have ups and downs in weather for the next few weeks before summer finally hits. I’m hoping that’s later rather than sooner haha.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 3:42 pm

Thanks we are totally fine over here and happy to have gotten the vaccine

  18. Jessie says

    03/21/2021 at 3:08 pm

Very exciting vaccination news! Love the shirts.

Sounds like some up and down weather, but you still managed some great runs!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 3:49 pm

Yes super thankful to have gotten our vaccines!

  19. Jenn says

    03/21/2021 at 3:38 pm

I have yet to see the cherry blossoms! Booo!

A probably won’t be able to have the 8th grade class trip to DC, so we may plan to take him ourselves when things have calmed down. Hopefully, we can make it work with cherry blossom season.

Great job this week and congrats on your second vaccine! The weather is just insane.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/21/2021 at 3:51 pm
