Thanksgiving Gratitude Weekly Run Down

Sunday-Power Walk

I got out for a nice weighted vest walk before starting to dive into the madness of Thanksgiving prep. We take it very seriously over here! Later it was time for the Eagles 🦅 game! (Ooh that was a rough one)

Monday-tread walk warm up + Turkey Burn full body strength + afternoon walk + stretch

After a warm up on the treadmill, I hopped into this week’s Turkey Burn Full Body class with Andy @ Peloton. I’m loving the structure of these classes this year. I worked on setting up my tables for a few what seemed like hours before taking another afternoon walk. My daughter and her fiancé flew in late from Chicago.

Tuesday-Peloton cycle + core

Another trip to the grocery for some veggies for Thanksgiving. I hopped on my bike for one of the Turkey Burn classes and a core class. Later it was some more decor prep.

Wednesday-tread walk + core

We spent all morning with the wedding planner and caterer picking out linens and chairs and other items. Later I hit the tread for some steps and a core class. I finished my tables finally set for 16 guests.

Thanksgiving table

I had these super cute chocolate covered Oreo turkeys and pretzels on each plate that were a big hit.

Thanksgiving

Thursday-Turkey Burn Peloton full body

I got my workout in early as not to get too distracted. I loved the peloton turkey burn class that was taught by 6 instructors for a fun change of pace. PS I did not take it like at 7:30 am with the other 49K members but at 10 like a civilized person. 🙂

It was a marathon prep day to cook and set up everything for 16 guests. My dad was not feeling well which made things a little challenging. Grateful and thankful to all be together. We never did get our big family photo unfortunately but did a get a few.

thanksgiving

I got completely absorbed in my guests and dinner-I guess that’s a good thing! I completely forgot to take a photo of my whole delicious buffet! I did get a few of my charcuterie board and caviar appetizers.

Friday-rest day + core

So much clean up! This was the first time where I really thought it was just so much work. I was totally wiped out! We also finalized the invitations for my daughter’s wedding, watched a lot of football (some good some not so good)

Saturday-power walk + core + full body strength

I went for a nice chilly walk while everyone else was still in bed at 10 am. Later got in a short but efficient full body strengthI and core. Sometimes it is just the best stress reliever to lift some heavy things!

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving my heart and my hone are full of gratitude 🙏

Something tells me that you are a fabulous hostess!!
I absolutely love your set table and your attention to detail. Although tiring, it was worth every effort.

I’m always happy I take the time to set things up but yes a lot of work. I do love hosting!

Sounds like a great day — everything looks so lovely!

I was so tired after Thanksgiving I finally got a good night’s sleep! I did Monday’s TB class but not the TG one yet —I opted for a run at 7 am. We were prepping our turkey by 10 am b/c we were eating early.

I hope your Dad is feeling better.

My dad is definitely on a decline and it’s so hard to watch. I know you know how this goes. I was tired too and I think I still am

What a beautiful table for Thanksgiving! We went to my sister’s as I had to work all week. It was a great time, but oddly enough, I didn’t get any pictures either! I’m sure it felt great to have your entire family there.

    Sorry about the game! :p

ugh the game! My boys were good sports thankfully. It was nice to have everyone here and my daughter got stuck here bc all the flights were cancelled to chi. My dad is not doing great and I know you know how that is sigh

Sad but my hubby’s fam does take out. It’s all about family so all is good and I ran a 10k.

I hope your wedding planning appointments went well! So exciting!

I feel your exhaustion! I am still recovering from all the work it took to host Thanksgiving dinner. Now I’m on to decorating for Christmas – I’m now on my third day of doing what I used to do in two days. I’m getting older and slowing down. Ugh!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/30/2025 at 10:31 am

Yes the wedding appointments went really well. Thanksgiving was a little chaotic. We all thought it was much harder to clean up this year. I am always thankful that we go away in December…

You set a pretty impressive table! I can only imagine how wonderful it was to have everyone together 😉 My two daughters are out of state, but were able to get together and FaceTimed us, then my son (and GF) stopped by in the evening for a few hours. I’m definitely looking forward to Christmas when everyone will be at my dinner table 😉 I agree with your comment about using he heavy weights for a stress release (been there, done that!). Sorry to hear about your father…thoughts and prayers to you and your family <3

Your Thanksgiving table looks so beautiful! And yes… those little treat packets are so cute- really fun to have something extra like that. I’m sure the cleanup was brutal! 16 people is a lot. Hope your dad is feeling better.
Nice job getting all the workouts in this week! I agree- it’s a great stress reliever.

A great stress reliever for sure. Unfortunately my dad is on the decline at 87

I enjoyed the craziness of Thanksgiving dinner (prep and cleanup) but somehow decorating the house for Christmas made me feel exhausted! Maybe I wasn’t recovered from Thanksgiving. 🙂 Your dinner looks beautiful. Sorry to hear your Dad wasn’t doing well.

Well done with all the cooking and prepping! Looks like some great food and fun was had! Hope your father is ok. You must have had some really nice walking weather to allow for that outfit in the first photo!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/30/2025 at 6:38 pm

It has gotten a lot cooler this week and definitely feels like winter. I’m determined to keep getting outside for walks as often as possible

I’m glad you had a nice holiday! Hope your dad is feeling better.

If I cook, everyone else cleans up. I got mostly everything done on Tuesday and Wednesday, so Thursday was light work. It was excellent timing on my part, if I do say so myself. And Aiden and his girlfriend cleared the tables, washed the dishes, and put up the leftovers. Winning!

That sounds like a plan that works!
