September Ultimate Coffee date Labor Day edition

Grab your mugs and join me for a virtual cup of whatever wakes you up in the morning.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I have rectified the broken coffee maker crisis from last month. I ended up buying another one on amazon so I could have it right it away. Of course, 3 weeks later the replacement arrived from Cuisinart. I think I will use it as a giveaway during the holidays. I just realized the Holiday Season will be here before we know it. Crazy huh?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I am optimistic that my hip is on it’s way to healing. I have had a couple of pain free short runs. I am going to take it really slow with short run/walk intervals for a while. I figure no reason to rush it since all of my races are canceled. Hopefully, by the time the amazing fall weather rolls in, I will on my way to happy miles.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I am more than halfway through my 15 day yoga for hips challenge. It’s 15 min a day which is just right for me. I am really enjoying it and will fill you in on my thoughts when I complete it. My hips need all the love they can get these days!

Your turn! If we were having coffee today, what would you tell me? Can you believe it’s labor day already? where did the summer go?

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Yay for no hip pain! I think you’re smart to take it slow right now so you can enjoy some fall running once Mother Nature starts to cooperate.

It always happens that when you buy a replacement for something then the one from the company comes in. At least you get your coffee!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that there’s some big and exciting changes coming up that are also stressful. I’m optimistic that good things are coming soon to everyone 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

  9. MCM Mama says

    09/04/2020 at 9:59 am

I’ve been having hip issues as well. I decided to take this entire week off from running and I can finally walk without “noticing” my hip. (It was never pain, just a nagging discomfort when I’d walk or run.) Fingers crossed I’ve nipped it because in theory I’m running the MCM 50k virtually next month.

I’m so ready for the fall weather…

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/04/2020 at 10:40 am

Definitely ready for the fall weather. My yoga for hips daily has really made a difference. I can be so bad at stretching

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/05/2020 at 12:06 pm

  15. Liz Dexter says

    09/05/2020 at 12:13 pm

Yay to pain-free. If we were having coffee I would be asking you why I signed up for a 26.2 miles in a week thing (OK for charity, that’s why) and if it’s OK to not do that distance next week, as I won’t then claim the medal but the charity has still got the money … Of maybe I will magically do the distance …

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/05/2020 at 4:26 pm

It’s definitely okay! We are in crazy times
